This place was delicious! Cute little spot! We were a party of 9 that seated quickly. We were quite cozy! We shared a pizza, salad and bottle wine...perfecto! The pizza was to die for. The garlic sauce and crust on the pizza were amazing! Service and ambiance was great! Would love to come back here and try other pizzas. Heads up when parking in the back. Apparently we parked in a spot that was for Ace Hardware customers. I saw no sign upon parking here. When we went to our car there was an Ace hardware employee that was being a jerk about us accidentally parking there even through i apologized. Just look for parking signs. read more

Alright, this is a tough review....if you want the food it's a 5 star review, if you want service you'll get a 1. We ordered the carnivore calzone, no doubt the best calzone we've ever had! That being said, with the rude and slow service we will not eat there again, only take out. read more

Delicious kale/pear salad, delicious frito misto, and so-so mac and cheese. It could probably do for sharper or more tangy cheese to be added into it. The service was polite and available and the atmosphere was chill, thanks to the big windows. The place itself, though, is very small and the screaming children next to us were impossible to escape. While they have a pretty decent selection of beers, they are very much overpriced. read more

All I can say is that the real stars of the menu are the starters and salads. The Frito Misto is beyond delicious, and the salads, such as the plainly named "Garden Lettuces Salad" was indeed simple, but delicious and deeply satisfying. I would come here at least once a week just for this, if I lived in the area, which unfortunately I do not :-(. The pizzas were also good, but presently being vegan-curious, it's harder for me to handle all the cheeses, which is no fault of OneSpeed. Service-wise, everyone was very helpful and patient, but there was a quite a time gap in between the starters and the pizzas, maybe 25-30 minutes. read more

We got a few recommendations to try OneSpeed as we both love all things pizzas. We have our favorite spots but never pass up trying new ones. The restaurant is next door to Yoga Loka and offered a few parking spots for guests. The atmosphere is great and I liked the style. Our server was very attentive and gave nice recommendations. We ended up ordering the Margherita and Pepperoni pizza add chicken sausage. We also had a pear kale salad and meat calzone. I was very impressed by the calzone and pepperoni pizza. Stopped in for a pizza and some beer. The beer selection was a little to funky and pricey for me. The beer wasn't cold enough, I switched to soda for the rest of the meal. I ordered the calzone. It was huge. Large enough for two without a doubt. It was under cooked in the middle but still tasted fine. Not bad if you're in the area but we went out of our way for dinner here. Pizza so good, I'm eating it for breakfast. My friend had suggested OneSpeed for a reunion dinner because, one, pizza, and two, there's free neighborhood street parking all the time (finding free parking in Midtown before 6pm? no thanks). Way in my early days as a Sacramentonian, I had visited OneSpeed in a large group setting and vaguely remembered that they had an extensive inexpensive beer selection but an expensive pizza selection. Boy am I glad I went back. OneSpeed features thin crust pizza baked in wood oven. The pizza dough is thin, simple, and sometimes adorned with a wood-over char. We opted for 2 pizzas, which are huge (probably 12" in diameter). A whole pizza could comfortably feed 2 people, so we each took home half a pizza for later munchies. $18 SAUSAGE PIZZA topped with house-made Italian sausage, mozzarella, red onions, pepperoncini, tomato sauce, and garlic oil. The plentiful sausage crumbles are savory and slightly spicy, the red onions are thin and sweet, and the pepperoncinis add a nice kick. $18 RICK'S PIZZA topped with mortadella sausage slices, potatoes, caramelized onions, olives, chevre and fontina cheese, and salsa verde. The slices of mortadella are generous, and the cheese and salsa verde pair well together. Plus, who doesn't like potatoes on their pizza? Between the two, I preferred the sausage. The only gripe I have about their pizzas is that their cheese and toppings slide off really easily, and the thin crust only increases the likelihood that your pizza slice is going to crumple and get nekkid. One of the best if not the best pizza we've had in Sac. We've eaten here twice already, one for take out and one dining in. Both experiences were great. We have tried the calzone, the eggplant pizza, the mushroom monthly special, and regular cheese. All of the pizzas were delicious and I think it's the sauce that makes it so good. The take out process was also quick and easy. The fine in staff was nice and friendly. Definitely will be going back many times and will be the go to pizza spot. read more

This restaurant is known for its long line/ long wait times, +45 mins is not uncommon, but I've been here three times now and honestly the food has just been so hit or miss. The service is notoriously bad that never changes. It's both slow and the servers are just not very friendly or helpful. Honestly would rather go to Masullo Pizza instead. read more

So I found an old Sacramento magazine from 2015 that had an article on top ten pizza places in Sac. So we drove downtown to check out One Speed because the pic in the magazine looked really good. We were not disappointed. We split a nice spring salad with flavorful beets and lightly dressed. Very fresh. Decided on the New Jersey pizza. Crust was light and crispy along with tons of cheese and tomatoes. Our server, Lucas, was very attentive and refilled my ice tea 3 times. Excellent service. read more

Let me start by saying I love East Sac and supporting businesses there! Lately, however, I have noticed that it feels way overcrowded and is difficult to plan to meet friends at these teeny tiny restaurants because there are never any tables available. That being said, I recently met a friend for dinner at OneSpeed, on a very crowded Friday evening. The table was rocking back and forth the whole time, and we had to wait for our food for over 30 minutes. We each chose a pizza- the pizza size is too small to split but too big to eat in one sitting. I know, I'm being picky but just sharing my observations! I jokingly asked my friend if this place would be too bougie for ranch and after asking, found they are! Haha but they did offer aioli spread. I destroyed at least 4 slices of my pizza, it was good- not my favorite in Sac but I felt it was worth the money. For me the pizza is too soggy and the sauce is spread on pretty thick. I'm a minimal sauce maximum crust type girl. We each had a drink with dinner then headed to good ol' Hilltop. All in all you can see this isn't a shining review, but my time at OneSpeed was enjoyable, and I know I'll be back because of the location and the quality of the food. PS: I enjoyed the rest of my slices the next day for lunch- pizza was still good. read more

If you are in Midtown Sacramento you must try this wonderful independent brick oven pizza place. The Staff go above and beyond to ensure that you love your meal and love the atmosphere. They are so very helpful! Save room for dessert as their take on bananas foster combined with the flavors of tiramisu will wow you taste buds!!! Prices were very reasonable and their pizzas are definitely big enough for 2-3 folks sharing. It was so good I forgot to grab my card and they were wonderful about protecting it and getting it back to me. I can't say enough great things about OneSpeed Pizza. Such a charmer! There were so many things that I absolutely loved about OneSpeed. From the lovely patio to the efficient service, they made a huge fan out of this girl. We initially took a seat at the compact bar to catch the last part of a soccer game. Their two TVs are conveniently located at each end of the bar so that no matter where you sit, there's a good view. After the game was over, we opted to move outside and enjoy the food al fresco. This was the only time we ran into a minor hitch. I made sure to ask the hostess if it was ok that we moved. She was a bit hesitant, saying it would be all right if there was a spot. She indicated that there were only two tables to choose from for two people, both of which already had sun on them. Seeing that there were also two four-seaters available which were much more shaded, we asked if we could sit at one of those. She sighed, but reluctantly agreed, telling us that it was a table usually used for four people. Ok, I get it...we're taking up extra space. But we're going to order a ton of food and we promise to justify the inconvenience. It should be noted that later in the service, she was delivering our third round of grub and was quite pleasant. Perhaps the feast we were having warmed her up a bit, it was just a bit uncomfortable to be treated like an obvious nuisance. We got over our annoyance as soon as our pro of a waitress came to take our order. Although she wasn't bubbly or much of a talker (which sometimes can be nice), this girl knew her stuff. She timed everything perfectly, a big plus in my book. Entrees didn't arrive on top of appetizers, drinks were refilled just as they were getting low, etc. This is one of those places where everything sounds delicious. Since it was our first time here, we were on a mission to get a taste of a few items. If I see carpaccio on a menu, chances are I've got to give it a shot. I keep searching for a local one that comes close to a version I had in SF's North Beach. Up till now, nothing had come close, but OneSpeed's version changes all that. A generous amount of fresh, paper-thin slices arrived drizzled with a tangy mustard dressing and arugula leaves. It was perfectly tender, melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. I was a little surprised that they don't serve any kind of accompaniment, like crackers or crostini, but we had a lot of food to still eat, so I actually wound up being kind of thankful for that. Plus, it gives you a chance to really savor the flavor of the meat. The BF is a green bean fanatic, so when we saw the side order available for $5, that was ordered as another pre-meal bite. Wow, what a treat! Surprisingly, this was almost as enjoyable as the carpaccio. Thick chunks of bacon, caramelized with strands of onion, are tossed with the crisp-tender beans in a sweet/salty combo. It was so impressive how much effort went into making this a stand-out dish, not just an afterthought. Really spoke volumes about what was still to come. Being unable to decide between the burger or pizza, we went for gluttony and decided on both. Instead of arriving together and having one get cold, our waitress again showed her skills and brought the burger first. Initially I was surprised, wondering how long that pizza was going to take. Then I realized it was better this way. We really had a chance to take our time with this burger masterpiece. It came as specified, a slightly pink medium-rare. All of the ingredients were top-quality; crisp lettuce, ruby red tomatoes, caramelized onions, rosemary mayo, juicy meat, all sandwiched into a soft, buttery bun. I really appreciated that they allow you to split your pizza into two different styles for an extra dollar. Given all the unique styles available, it was nice to have a chance to try more than one. We went with a half Parma prosciutto/half Italian sausage. The prosciutto side was our favorite, with long strips of premium ham and thick slices of mushroom placed atop a tomato cream sauce, all sprinkled with fresh arugula. An outstanding combination of flavors, the shitake mushrooms added a savory punch and great texture (think I might order extra next time), while the peppery arugula gave some fresh balance to the richness of the other toppings. The BF, who's not a big fan of tomato sauce, commented on how nice it was to have that sharp tomato tanginess cut by the addition of cream. The sausage side was also a winner, with wilted greens, whole milk mozzarella and fresh basil to complement the spicy, house-made meat. Both pizzas were again notable for their top-notch ingredients and careful handling. The patio is a terrific place to watch the people of East Sac go by, enjoying their leisurely Saturday strolls. It was nice to have the shade from a few mature trees that extend out to provide some relief from the afternoon sun. I could have stayed for hours, but after all that food, it was time for a walk (or maybe a nap). read more

I've had OneSpeed bookmarked for a while and was in the area on a recent Sunday and stopped in for late lunch/early dinner. I'd read the reviews of my favored Yelp peeps and heard from others both pro and con. Now my own experience. It was fairly quiet on this afternoon and appeared that the staff was gearing up for the evening. Made my way to the bar and sat with a view of the dining area, the kitchen, and the beer options on the wall in front of me. Greeted almost immediately, beer request fulfilled timely (Almanac Dog Patch), and menu provided. If you've ready any of my pizza reviews and comments, I'm picky about my pizza. Some tell me that what I like is not pizza. Whatever. I know what I like and persistent in my pursuit. I opted for pizza from the menu (over soup, salad, pasta, or burger). Of the single size pizza's, I ordered the Garden Pie (zucchini, eggplant, red onion, greek olives, mushroom, and pesto with sheepsmilk cheese). The crust was puffy around the edges and thin in the middle - that's how I like it. The toppings were the star of the pie, not the crust - how it should be. The crust is as important to me as the toppings and I like the thin crust that was perhaps a little touch to get through in the middle. I was glad that the eggplant was large cubed and not over cooked. Overall, I really enjoyed the pizza and would order again, definitely. Total tab for lunch was $25 (including tip). I have no problem paying for good food and good beer. read more

Now I know the "trend" of pizzas being ordered most places is fancy-schmancy, and I myself will venture to try something "different" every now and then. But I try someplace I've never been (as this was both mine and Hubby's first OneSpeed experience), I test them out by ordering the all-American classic: pepperoni pizza. So, we did... OMG! Soooo friggin' good! There were ample slices of pepperoni, along with mushrooms (which I happen to love on pizza, but hubby hates, so I ate his). Whatever magical combo of seasoning they had sprinkled on our pizza, it was awesome. And last but certainly not least, the crust. Oh, the delicious, thin, crispy-but-chewy perfectly cooked crust. Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm! All put together, the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had. Just sayin'... Since we were at OneSpeed with good buddies Brian and Holly (who were practically aghast that we'd never been here before), lots of menu items were purchased and sampled and were ALL terrific: 1. Deep fried asparagus special - Full spears deep fried to perfection in a light coating, making it crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. What really made it for me was the accompanying tonnato mayo and lemon...perfect pairing! 2. Chopped salad - Perfect size for two people, with loads of chicken and chunks of bacon atop the greenery and tasty dressing. 3. Antipasto plate - Mmmm...loaded with lots of bread, cheese, meat, and veggies from which to choose and indulge before the pizzas arrived. Oh, and can't forget the great service! Our gal kept our waters and my diet Coke filled, which was much appreciated. And a helpful hint...we got there at about 4pm on a Saturday; after lunch but before dinner, and we got seated right away and no crowds. Apparently, if you can swing it, that's a great time to go. Thanks to Brian and Holly for that tip :) If you haven't been to OneSpeed, I'd say do yourself a favor and try a slice of Sacramento heaven. Came here the other night with a group of work colleagues. The ambiance is very warm, lively and you just know that good things are going to happen here. Thanks Emily W. for the tip on the house red. Loved it! I was trying to put my finger on the grape variety -- it was fruity, yet well balanced. And at $10 for a half carafe, affordable. Tried the mac & cheese ($7.50), tasty but a bit too "runny", would have preferred something a bit more solid in form. The olives ($2.50) are good and the pizza we had was original and filling. We tried the Rick's pizza ($14.50) topped with potato, caramelized onions, pancetta, goat cheese, olives and arugula. The crust was thin and crispy and overall I could see it filling up one hungry person. What surprised me the most was that for a Thursday night, the place was chock-a-block. Every chair was filled, the whole establishment was abuzz with conversation and the kitchen was bustling. Folks, aren't we in a recession? I think East Sac may have escaped the blues of the economy because you certainly wouldn't find this much love on the North end. read more

A veritable palette of fresh ingredients/tastes and color bring a lively vibe back to Folsom Blvd. I met up with the ladies and I've been having nothing but the best of luck in affirming her spots of palate bursting delights across the grid. Having experienced a lot in the city as well as others across the states, I'm starting to appreciate that Sacramento has been up and coming with establishments that are quite competitive, especially with pricing as well as easy parking. Anyone with numerous run-ins with DPT can appreciate this. As their name states, their specialties are centered around their pizzas and despite the fact that my pizza was pretty good (Mushroom & La Fontina, Arugula, Tomato Cream and Quercia Prosciutto) for the tag of $15, a little pricey. However, the the crust was a perfect balance of sweetness and savory toppings, I was pleased. The minus 1-star? The noise level hits a din here like there is no tomorrow. Yelling across the table to communicate with friends is a total fail. I don't care how drunk you are. It is unacceptable and places a damper on a charming lunch outing. I blame the walls and the floors. Something needs to be done, otherwise, a charming place for good food, wine, and socializing with people from the area. read more

I really had a hard time rating this place because I REALLY want to like this place. I really do. I would say this place is more like a 3.5. First off, it's in a great location, being right across the way from Hilltop. You can get a bite and then cross the street for some drinks and bar games. Secondly, I do like the ambiance. It's low key, good for a casual night out, but not like your regular "greasy spoon" pizza joint. The recycled water bottles that they serve water in give the place a quirky feel that I like. Thirdly, the waitstaff is generally very nice, although maybe a bit on the slow side. I guess that kind of goes along with the ambiance. However, the fact that the menu is on the small side with not a whole lot of variety that keeps me from having this place as my go to favorites. I ordered the pizza on special that night and my friend ordered the Four Cheese... And when we got them they looked almost identical! (Mine had 2 kinds of cheese and arugula) They tasted pretty different considering his had apples and mine didn't, but I didn't expect them to look like that. Anyway, I've also had the Gnocchi Bolognese which was pretty good as well. The burger and the rosemary fries (Aioli is soooooooo creamy good!!) are also very tasty. So all in all pretty good place but not a ton a variety. I hear that this place is owned by the same people who opened the Waterboy... That will be my next stop! read more

The pizza is amazing and I always get the salad with blue cheese and walnuts and the humus and focaccia bread is Devine. It's fun to eat at the bar- they have a nice house red they serve in little glasses Italian style and the staff of amazing here. Heard some good things about the place so I thought I'd give it a shot. The place was a little hard for us to find, but after walking in the place was pretty packed for a weekday night. We stood around for a bit before someone came and greeted us and we were brought to a very tight table for two. The tables were very close together so you could hear the party's conversation that are sitting next to you, not something I like very much. Our waiter came by quick and had some suggestions, he also brought us over some waters. We ordered a couple wines and beers with our meals as well. The food was OK, not something to remember, but the pizzas were a good size. I also was not find of the fact that the water they have is almost room temperature -- ack! As for the price, it was a little more then what I thought the meal was worth. All-in-all I give this place 2 stars just for our good server and the OK food. I stopped into OneSpeed last night at a coworkers recommendation. It was SO good. I got the pizza special (pesto, asparagus, sun dried tomatoes, red onions, mozzarella and ricotta cheeses) on the gluten free crust and it was the best gluten free crust I've ever had. It was $3 extra (which isn't bad when it comes to gluten free subs) and my boyfriend even said he liked it better than their original crust that he got on his pizza! The servings are pretty large. My boyfriend, our friend, and I all got our own pizzas and all ate about half. Would have split but they charge a half and half fee on their pizzas so we just have leftovers now! read more
