The chef / owner was so intrigued as to who had such a hefty appetite that she had to come out to the dining area & introduce herself to our table. The chef/owner was very kind & inviting. She educated us about her food, her ingredients which she imports from her homeland, how amazing is that!?! She was very proud of that & eager to share her culture with us. My fiancé and I decided to drive up to Oakland Park to go thrift shopping. We're not from the area so I, obviously, turned to Yelp when we started to get hungry. I came across this place and the menu looked promising so we decided to pop in. The restaurant itself is on the smaller size but it was pretty empty, which was perfect, and the decor was very nice. They have a great lunch menu! $12.99 for an appetizer and entree. The server was extremely warm and knowledgable. He recommended some great dishes. We both started with some veggie spring rolls. My fiancé got the basil chicken and I chose the red curry with chicken. Both were amazing but I have to say, my dish was phenomenal. We finished with a young coconut cake and it was the perfect ending! The flavors from start to finish were incredible and they all complimented each other so well. I highly recommend stopping in for some insanely flavorful food and that paired with the beautiful decor and warm service will definitely have you coming back. We certainly will be soon! I truly am a proponent of supporting local business. I'm starting by saying I don't own a restaurant and I'm not conspiring with another business to hurt this one. I regularly submit positive as well as negative points of view of restaurants as my wife and I dine out often and I enjoy complementing good or great and regret when I'm a victim or this place sucks. Now that I gave my disclaimer, this was my first time at Only Thai and my last. This place sucks!!!!! What a terrible experience. First off they were not busy, so I can't even say that it happened because they were overwhelmed. I wish I could. When you order the so called fresh dim sum and they come out warm on the bottom and cold on top, that only means that the frozen food did not steam or microwave evenly. Funny part about that is it took 10 minutes for the first order to come out. When we sent it back the second order (replacement) was out in 2 minutes and the waitress said we made you fresh ones. Oddly enough a second server brought us out the original order minus the one we cut open and said we re-warmed it. The original server came over and took that away and said don't do that to the other server. We also ordered the Thai ribs. After the order was placed the server came back to the table and advised they did not have Ribs. We changed it to their Thai chicken wings. Big mistake!!!!! Unfortunately all they served us for $8 was four wing pieces dipped in flour and tasted like old oil. They were anything but Thai flavored. They were served with a small bowl of sweet chili Thai sauce, which oddly enough tasted just like the one we get from Publix. Hmmmm!!!!! Then our main courses came out, Thai chicken fried rice and Pad see-ew. Not to beat a dead horse, but we've eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and this by far was the most tastiest Thai fried rice I have ever had and if it was not for the microscopic amount of salted fish sauce they provided it would've had no flavor at all. The Pad See-ew had flavor if you liked a lot of sugar and salt and the noodles were so overcooked they were almost like paste. We love Thai food and eat it often. By far this was the worst representation of what a Only Thai restaurant should be. read more

When I heard from the owner, TK (who was previously a bartender at Phat Boy Sushi in Coral Springs) that she and her husband were going to take over the restaurant from John Maser, the owner of Phat Boy, and was going to transform it into a super legit Thai place like Larb Thai Isan I was stoked. This is not that restaurant. Yes it is pretty. Yes the service is good. But the menu is boilerplate. They pride themselves making things from scratch (or rather "made with Thai hands") but at the same time, adamantly do not use fish sauce because "vegan people eat here". I had a BAD feeling when I didn't smell fish sauce coming out of that kitchen. They don't use ground pork at this restaurant at all, they make their dumplings with chicken. Also missing that toasted garlic/shallot flavor I expect from a Kharnom Jib dumpling. Rachel got a pad kaprow, had to order it with chicken. I didn't taste fish sauce, but it had some heat. It was missing what I felt was the essential flavor of the dish, which was the Thai holy Basil. Arguably difficult to find fresh now due to heavy supply chain issues (I completely empathize) but there are products that can be used to add in as a paste/stir fry sauce to boost the flavor. In any case no where near as good as Larb Thai's version. I had the beef green curry. Ordered medium. Heat yes, no fish sauce. Curry paste is a standard maesri or mae ploy. The owner prides herself on using more expensive coconut milk and told me she imports other expensive ingredients from Thailand to make the food authentic -- it's not doing anything for this dish. Also not as good as Larb Thai or even Thai Bayshore's version. It's the same one you can get at a dozen plus Americanized Thai places in Broward. Maybe at all of them. Sent it back. Didn't order anything else. Going home hungry. Pretty, cute, intimate place. Completely underwhelming. Pass. Even if I lived in Fort Lauderdale there's better places to eat at for this cuisine. read more

Best Thai I've enjoyed in the U.S. The Spring Rolls are crispy and delicious with a unique take on the traditional Thai chili dipping sauce. The Drunken Noodles (ordered with light spice) are fabulous with outstanding flavors and the perfect crunch to the veggies. They were perfectly balanced with the right amount of fresh basil. Three different diners in our party ordered Pad Thai. Each order was spiced to exact customer specification and had a taste that took me back to the best places I've eaten in Thailand. When we arrived early for our 7:15 PM reservation on a Friday night I immediately fell in love with this place. They have parking out front and it is a small restaurant. Totally not in the mood for a chain restaurant with their long wait and too many people shoved into a restaurant. The server was excellent knew the menu well and gave great suggestions. My biggest fault was not taking enough photos on all the dishes and the Sauvignon bottle that me and my friends shared. The food is served hot and delicious. The owner came over towards the end of the meal. She confirmed what you can already guess she and the food are from Thailand. All the items are made fresh on the premises. Her business survived Covid which was not an easy feat in the restaurant business. Definitely will be back again soon. Hopefully next time we will even leave room for desserts. Need to Florida and New as a residence in Fort Lauderdale I was looking for Tae. Fort Lauderdale seems to have a lot fast food restaurants for the tourists and possibly even the residence but 52 year old cancer Thriver I juicy just a little bit better. On my way home I ran across this place. It's in a quaint little plaza next to other places I'd like to try Verde and Angelos. It's a Sunday and it's at 5:30. I noticed so many places are closed on Sundays but this little gym was open. I was warmly graded as soon as I walked in. They only had one customer dining at the time. I was offered any table I would like. Had a hard time deciding on what I wanted to eat because the appetizers and dinner offerings were plentiful in my opinion. I chose the spring rolls and the drunken noodles. As I always did in Atlanta, ask for Tae hi. As they usually are in Atlanta when I ask for that the server is always nervous. And as always except for once, the Tejon here was perfect I even added more seasoning to my food. I'm weird I like it spicy. Dinner was wonderful, the ambience in the restaurant was calm and relaxing.. hi Service were kind and attentive. All in all I'm coming back and I'm taking my friend who has lived here for seven years to lunch one day at this awesome Thai spot. read more

I've visited this place several times and usually get the Pad Thai, which is very good. This time I was wanting something different so I got the Stir Fry w/chicken in the Basil Sauce, medium heat. Tasty, good amount of chicken but they were out of red bell peppers which should have been in it. Medium heat was more like a mild but still good. Service was good, friendly and I was checked on with water refilled a few times. Quite a few delivery drivers coming in to pick up orders. Inside was clean, comfortable and quaintly decorated. Prices are reasonable and on par with other Thai spots. Their only drawback is a lack of parking. Only a few spots in front and an employee occupied one of them. We ordered the Thai Dumplings, Chicken Pad Thai, and a Veggie Pad See-ew. The dumplings were okay - the filling and dipping sauce were good but the wrapper seemed overcooked and ripped apart every time I picked it up. My boyfriend had the chicken pad thai and said he really enjoyed it. I ordered the veggie pad see-ew and it was delicious. The veggies include carrots, straw mushrooms, zucchini, napa cabbage, baby corn, broccoli, and I believe some Chinese broccoli as well. Everything was presented very nicely and was pretty filling. I ordered on DoorDash and the food was still piping hot. We picked the Pad Thai, Red Thai Curry, Pad Se Ewe, and crab rangoons. The rangoons were actually curry flavored with a pineapple dipping sauce and it was so delicious. Never tried something like that. The curry was a coconutty and not spicy at all!! So good. We have been back to Only Thai for lunch numerous times, and then back for dinner for my birthday and then again last week. The food has been consistently great and the servers always take good care of us. For the most part, we order the same things Tofu soup, Tom Kha soup, Pad Woon-Sen and Red Curry with different proteins, and the kids will normally have a variety of the appetizers and a fried rice.
