The best poke spot in Seattle is a toss-up between Ono and Hi-Life. Ono just gets all their sauces right. My favorites have to be their tuna and scallops. Their inari bombs are also so good - quick and easy. The one thing I didn't really enjoy was their crab salad. It was more of a coleslaw with a little bit of crab.

After having this on my list for a long while, I finally made my way up to try this place out. And for a Saturday afternoon around 1230 this place was packed. And apparently rightfully so. The parking lot is pretty small and you may have to wait for parking. There are about 8-10 tables on the Inside and additional seating on the outside. You place your order at the register and can see the fish being prepared for poke. Even as long as the line was, once you place your order your food comes out pretty fast. Poke bowl comes with two poke options and one side. An additional serving of poke is $4. Each additional side is $1. So if you like your poke bowls loaded, it can get pretty expensive. Your base options are salad or rice. The poke itself is fresh and delicious. The tako is some of the best I have had. If I was in the area and had a hankering for poke, I'd definitely come back. You can tell they utilize quality ingredients. And it's obvious that their poke is always fresh.

Ono is one of our Edmonds gems. Downside is there's always a long line which goes to show the quality and freshness. Solid amount of seating but fills up fast. Another tough pill to swallow is the prices being a bit higher but again, somewhat justified with high quality, decent quantity, and overall delicious. Their rotating menu keeps things interesting but it sucks when a favorite fish isn't available for that week! Ample parking because it's located in a large plaza, but may have to park a little further away in the plaza because of the amount of people. They also have a Kingston shop, so both locations are convenient across the ferry.

Ono strikes again! Food & drink: (5/5) I don't think I have ever gone to Ono Poke and it not being a 5/5. This time around was no different. My partner and I stopped by on a Sunday evening looking to fulfill our poke nacho fix. Since it was near the end of the day, they only had two types of spicy ahi left which wasn't an issue for us at all. We got the nachos with spicy ahi, mac salad, and an extra side of edamame on top. SO delicious. Their poke with rice is great but something about the crunch of chips with the fresh fish just hits different. My partner got a can of lilikoi passion fruit juice which was sweet and perfect for cutting thru the savoriness of the nachos. Service: (5/5) Again, it's always a 5/5 here. The team at Ono is incredible kind and welcoming. They make coming here such a treat (on top of the food of course)!

This is genuinely the best poké I've ever had in my life (I haven't been to Hawaii yet, lol). I am a poké addict, and I just about will stop by at any poké restaurant just to try it. This spot was recommended to me by a friend. The interior of the restaurant was warm and very decorated. There were a lot of Hawaiian cultural references, which added to the ambiance. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. And despite it being super busy the day that I went, they were all patient with each customer. I had a few samples of their fish, and let me tell you, the fish is FRESH. I am usually picky with tuna because they tend to have a fishy taste, but Ono's tuna was NOT fishy at all. Also, all the different flavors of poké were seasoned PERFECTLY. I got the spicy salmon and the scallop poke. They were both buttery and tender. The flavors did not overtake the natural flavor of the fish, and the sauce was seeped deep into the salmon; the same goes for the scallop. Sometimes at poké restaurants the sauce will sit on top of the fish, but NOT HERE. This place is genuinely SO SO good. I highly recommend coming to this place and trying their poké! + This place is so good that I am willing to make the trip out to this place if I am ever back in this state.

One of the best sushi spots in Seattle. The fish is consistently incredibly fresh, and the service is attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend.

Fast and efficient service! A very popular poke spot in Edmonds that is worth the trek from Seattle proper. Portion sizes are generous though they do not have any water cup options. There's a plentitude of sauces you can add after receiving your order. They also have options beyond poke like a baked scallop snack and surf and turf meals. 5/5 - Poke Bowl - Scallops and albacore were their two most popular and were super delicious! Each had its own savory flavor profile and were well proportioned with the rice. The shoyu salmon was also good but a bit outshined by the prior two. Absolutely get the fish with their Mac salad! (Though I'm sure their other side options would taste good as well)

It's been awhile but finally got poke to go this month. This spot's our favorite poke place outside Seattle. We always come on Saturdays around opening since the hamachi always runs out later in the day due to the limited quantities. Service was quick and efficient as they have lots of staff. If paying by cash then customers got a slight discount. We buy the poke itself instead of the plates since we always take it to go and enjoy back home with our sides of rice, avocados, etc. Hamachi poke was still number one with its freshness and creamy goodness. Spicy salmon poke had a good heat but not overpowering. Ahi poke with the oyster sauce and tako poke rounded out the last containers and as usual great taste and fresh fish. Our favorite carb choice was their Mac salad which had a light mayo coating and a little peppery. Will need to find time again to come back sooner.

Everyone and their mothers hyped up Ono Authentic Hawaiian Poke, so I was really excited to try it. Fortunately, my friend rented a car for our Seattle trip this past week, so we stopped by for lunch on our drive up to Mt. Vernon. Even at 1 PM, there was a bit of a line and about a 10 minute wait for food to come out. REGULAR POKE BOWL - 21.50 I ordered half rice/half salad (which is just spring mix), with shoyu salmon and spicy ahi tuna for the proteins, plus a side of macaroni salad. There was a lot of rice, which I didn't finish, but the salmon and tuna were both fresh and well-marinated. The macaroni salad was lighter than I expected, which I enjoyed. Overall, the bowl was very filling and satisfying! Ono is definitely delicious and I'm glad I tried it, but I felt like it was a bit overhyped given how many people raved about it.

Pros: food is yummy and fresh, atmosphere is chilled and laidback, fast service Cons: no one cleaned the table, I wiped my own table

Ono is the perfect spot for delicious poke! The interior is so warm and inviting. The staff was very nice and friendly. The fish here was by far the freshest I ever had in poke. You can really taste the difference in quality. They had so many different options, but my personal favorite was the tuna. Their macaroni salad was very tasty too. This was by far the best poke I ever had. I can't wait to give them another try in the future. Highly recommend this spot!

10/10! I was surprised to learn it's not the same chain that's all over Hawaii, but the difference is minimal! Highly recommend the tuna and tako poke over the salmon, and make sure to use their Chinese Mustard soy sauce it is so good!

Ordered from Star for the first time today - ordered a regular tuna onigiri and regular salmon poke…read more(with avocado, extra cost). Onigiri Issues - The tuna onigiri was spicy - chili flakes in the rice. On the phone, the owner told me this was normal, and that the "spicy option" was extra spicy. As a first time customer, how would I have known that (if it's true)? Every "regular" onigiri I have ever had is white sushi rice + filling. The cashier never mentioned it had any spice, and if she had, I wouldn't have ordered it. Poke bowl issues - The biggest issues were that the salmon bowl, which again I asked for regular for, and more spice/chili flakes. When asking about this, owner had no comment. Additionally, the avocado I paid extra for ($2.50 for maybe 4 small slices) was black and old. Inedible. Offered to send a photo, Owner declined and nothing to say about the old avocado. Things I didn't get to mention - The rice has extremely hard, not "day old sushi rice," but too hard to even eat. The portion is so small for the price. Didn't even fill up half of the to-go bowl container. Service - Owner was extremely rude on the phone. He asked me what the issue was, and then when I started to explain, he says, "well I know, what do you want me to do?" He'd ask a question, not like my response and cut me off by saying I wasn't letting him speak. Then, when I stopped trying to answer his question, he wouldn't talk until I started talking again. Told me I couldn't get a refund unless I drove back to the store with the food, which I am unable to do because of work. He declined accepting any photos of the food. Terrible food, terrible experience. (Photo of avocado and the red flakes mixed in with the tobiko)

I'm still vividly thinking about it while I write this review. The pork just melts in your mouth and has such a fantastic flavor to it. The salad was refreshing and acidic, which was delightful, and the mac was really good too. The pork belly sisig was also really solid, though I have to say that the kalua pork stole the show. The nice fatty pieces of pork belly mixed with the rice were sweet and delicious, and I also thoroughly enjoyed this dish. As earlier mentioned, the dishes are a bit pricey, but they gave a lot of food (we both had to take our meals to go at the end - a rarity for me!) +1 to the server who gave our dog some treats along the way! I'm happy to say that we'll be back, especially to check out their happy hour.
