We tried Ono for the first time and were very impressed by its portion size! We ordered two combos (one with short rib and bbq chicken, second witth the same meats plus katsu chicken). We ordered to go, so not sure if that impacts the portion size. But I swear the meats weigh at least 1 pound lol! We went light on rice (1 portion) and went heavy on steamed veggies (2 portions) and are very happy with our choices. Our favorite meat is katsu as it has a nice crispy texture, followed by bbq chicken as it's pretty juicy and flavorful.

The food here is great and the customer service is too . The wait isn't too bad either . Would always recommend this spot !

Food Court Standout The three of us were all very impressed with the food and the amount of food we received at Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I had the Mixed BBQ and my styrofoam container was packed with beef, pork, and chicken on a bed of cabbage, rice, and macaroni salad. The flavor of each meat was solid. I used extra teriyaki sauce to mostly season the rice. I thought it was a real standout for food court food. It was our first visit, so we did have trouble figuring out what to order, but we pulled it off. While our order taker didn't help us, he was patient while we talked among ourselves. It didn't take us long. None of us remembered to order drinks, which our order taker could have pointed out but didn't, so we did a return trip to the counter. My food was not cut into bite sized pieces. Using plastic silverware to cut meat in that styrofoam container without having some of it hit the table was a pain, but I managed.

Pretty good Hawaiian bbq! If you're craving something savoury and filling, then this is the place! It's a bit pricey but the portions are big.

On the contrary to all the rest of the reviews, I think this place is pretty good! Sure, it's not the most incredible Hawaiian bbq food you ever had, but for mall food court, it's not bad at all. I had the Chicken Katsu. Portions were pretty good for the price point. Definitely not a bad choice in the sea of fast food. Would probably come here again if I went to the mall!

If you like this food, you must seasoning your food with mayonnaise that's all I'm gonna say... I ordered the chicken and beef plate. The beef taste fake! A blend between impossible meat and beef jerky, #Horrible The Chicken Taste Very SUS And Shredded oddly for it to be chicken breast SMH I'm super hot because I spent $24 in DoorDash on something that was so disgusting.

Ordered four different dishes from Ono Hawaiian BBQ (via Grubhub) and was very pleased with the meal. The food taste and quality is very similar to the Hawaiian plate lunch places in Hawaii (my home town). Enjoyed the chicken Katia plate, mixed meat kalbi and teriyaki beef plate, the chicken and beef combo and the chicken combo dishes. The macaroni salad was the highlight of the dish!

Flavor: 3/5 Quality: 3/5 Portions: 4/5 Hospitality: N/A (delivery) Cleanliness: N/A Atmosphere: N/A Cost: $$ (moderate) My order: chicken katsu, bbq beef pork Not bad, just your run if the mill Hawaiian bbq restaurant. Flavor was okay, portions were decent for the most part. The chicken katsu had a lot of breading unfortunately and not a ton of chicken. I think most people who enjoy Hawaiian bbq would be satisfied with this place. But there are definitely better joints to visit.

I had never had L & L, it seems like this might be a chain, but the pictures looked interesting and different. I got the barbecue plate, my wife got the Three's Company Combo, and we ordered spam musubi to split. The portions were very large, and all of the food was really tasty. I was very surprised by the spam musubi. It was the perfect handheld appetizer, and I dipped it in the barbecue sauce, which made it even better. All of the meats were cooked perfectly. They traveled pretty well also. I am not used to getting Hawaiian food delivered. I would say the one knock on L&L not being five star is the price. The combo plates are very expensive. A combination plate was $20. Now, the portion sizes are large enough that you can have some leftovers for lunch the next day, but I would have rather a more affordable combination plate.

It was tender, flavorful, and a pretty large serving. This is your typical hawaiin bbq with hawaiian music playing, license plates and surfboards on the walls, and just the hawaiian bbq ambiance. Although it was small and not a place I'd want to eat in at, it was clean. Service was alright. I could barely understand the lady behind the counter, but she seemed friendly, and the cook seemed happy, so maybe that made the food good. The BIGGEST UPSET is the PRICE. I paid just under $22 for my teriyaki beef plate. I could get the same thing at Ono Hawaiian BBQ for $13 taxes included with similar taste and portion. For the price, I'd rather get 2 plates at Ono vs 1 plate at L&L. Honestly, I probably will not be back due to pricing.

I can usually make 2-3 lunches out of it for $15. But I'm writing this review to say that the staff working here 5:45pm on Sunday April 12, 2026 are above and beyond friendly and helpful. Everyone's always nice here but the vibe is just awesome today. Dulce and Erika helped me order and I can't see anyone else's name tag in the back but they're great too. They have new touch screen giant iPad things which is pretty cool as someone doesn't love social interactions with strangers. However there was something confusing about my specific meal choice in the app so one of the women saw me struggling and quickly came and took my order the old fashion way, with a smile. Normally Ono can take a little longer than a normal "fast food," restaurant to get your food since they're actually cooking a lot of it, but today, even though there was a family of 6 in front of me my order came out really quickly. I'm on an ebike and I was able to get a table next to the wall outlet so I can add some juice back onto it. Also randomly they have the best napkins.

When we arrived, the entrance was constantly blocked by the hostess and security chatting. One staff member told me to head to the bar to order, but security then acted like I was doing something wrong. A little communication between staff would go a long way. At the bar, I was skipped twice while waiting to order. When I pointed it out, the bartender told me to "hold on" while assisting a 3rd walk up after me. I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.
