Food is always fresh, staff is always friendly. Wait times are average on a busy day but pn most of my visits there is hardly a wait and they usually have a few guests in line. Carlos is a great shift lead. The guys and ladies prepping the food also work well with each other to help expidite the meals. The food court has restrooms and plenty of seating. read more

This Hawaiian BBQ spot is one of two I visited. This one is in Westfield Mall in Culver City. I didn't know what to expect since Hawaiian bbq was not on my radar. I asked the lady behind the counter and she recommended the bbq chicken platter. This wasn't bbq chicken the way I think of bbq chicken, it reminded me more of hibachi chicken, but I'll tell you this....it was some damn good chicken! And that little side of macaroni salad was everything. I had to get another one to go in a larger side. We tried Ono for the first time and were very impressed by its portion size! We ordered two combos (one with short rib and bbq chicken, second witth the same meats plus katsu chicken). We ordered to go, so not sure if that impacts the portion size. But I swear the meats weigh at least 1 pound lol! We went light on rice (1 portion) and went heavy on steamed veggies (2 portions) and are very happy with our choices. Our favorite meat is katsu as it has a nice crispy texture, followed by bbq chicken as it's pretty juicy and flavorful. read more

Food Court Standout The three of us were all very impressed with the food and the amount of food we received at Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I had the Mixed BBQ and my styrofoam container was packed with beef, pork, and chicken on a bed of cabbage, rice, and macaroni salad. The flavor of each meat was solid. I used extra teriyaki sauce to mostly season the rice. I thought it was a real standout for food court food. It was our first visit, so we did have trouble figuring out what to order, but we pulled it off. While our order taker didn't help us, he was patient while we talked among ourselves. It didn't take us long. None of us remembered to order drinks, which our order taker could have pointed out but didn't, so we did a return trip to the counter. My food was not cut into bite sized pieces. Using plastic silverware to cut meat in that styrofoam container without having some of it hit the table was a pain, but I managed. read more

On the contrary to all the rest of the reviews, I think this place is pretty good! Sure, it's not the most incredible Hawaiian bbq food you ever had, but for mall food court, it's not bad at all. I had the Chicken Katsu. Portions were pretty good for the price point. Definitely not a bad choice in the sea of fast food. Would probably come here again if I went to the mall! read more

I've eaten here before and it was pretty good but that was a few years ago. Last weekend, I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate lunch to go. It looked delicious but when I tried to eat the chicken, I didn't recognize the texture. It was like trying to eat a rubber eraser. The little bit that I did manage to eat caused me a great deal of stomach pain and nausea for 3 days. It's almost a week later and my intestinal system is still not fully recovered. Needless to say, if I want an edible plate lunch, I'll head back to Hawaii. read more

Ordered four different dishes from Ono Hawaiian BBQ (via Grubhub) and was very pleased with the meal. The food taste and quality is very similar to the Hawaiian plate lunch places in Hawaii (my home town). Impressed by the service! I always come to the mall and I've ate here before and let me just say the quality of food is great to every single time. I just went again this past weekend and I had wonderful service from the cashier Linda. Brought my mom with me and she surprised my mom on how fluent her Spanish was and how quickly she was able to help figure out what my mom wanted on her plate. After about 2 min Linda helped prep plates and when the cook next her went to out to the back she continued to finish the plate and give them out. Amazing work my mom already told me to bring her back! read more

This place has has the WORST customer service . The cashier has no patient for you . She was so upset because my son couldn't figure out what he wanted . She kept moving back and forth and sighing because he couldn't decide . It's not out fault that they were not prepared for the rush of customers right before closing . At one point she was talking about the customers in Spanish so rude . There are a lot of places in the mall to eat and we decided on you location .. worst mistake ever !! read more

Ono's is practically everywhere nowadays and you can't go more than 5 miles without one. Located in the food court of Fox Hills mall, Ono's is usually not very crowded and for good reason: it's mediocre and takes a while to get your food. I got an order of the chicken katsu which comes with 2 scoops of rice, a side of macaroni salad and it is placed on top of steamed vegetables. While the katsu was nicely breaded and crispy, it was primarily flour that I was biting into. The chicken was very thin. Not to mention, the chicken wasn't juicy at all. It was pretty dry...good thing they provide a side of Katsu sauce for you to dip your meat into. The steamed veggies on the bottom are all soggy too. Convenience is the only factor Ono's has going for it. I'll stick to L&L's Hawaiian BBQ. read more

This is always my go to for spam musubi as well as the chicken bbq plate. Even though the prices keep up with inflation I get my fill every time. Most likely because I order more food than necessary. Didn't have high expectations buying food from a mall. Took 30-40mins to get my food, wasn't too busy ordered around 10am. When I received the food, it was ok except for the bits of rice that were uncooked. Tried to get a refill, wanted to pay for it but they refused to give me a new cup even if I returned my old one. It touched something dirty so I wanted my drink replaced which was mostly full but they didn't give me a new cup and a big Latina worker nearby was rude and stepped in and yelled at me saying they aren't replacing my drink, I wasn't being rude I've worked customer service I was trying explain that the cup was dirty but she just yelled at me. There were also no customers trying to order so it wasn't busy at all at the time. I ended up tossing it and buying another from next door read more

I've been coming to this location since it's been opened and I've ordered the same thing Hawaiian bbq mix with no bbq beef no veggies more macaroni salad and extra chicken. All of sudden today they don't do it per Janette the shift manager. I've never had any issues in the past. I'm very disappointed. So, now I've asked for the corporate number and whomever runs the location who is supposedly is Luis (last name was not provided. I didn't appreciate Janette throwing the paper because she's upset that I'm asking for information that I will need when I call the number that was provided. I really hate poor customer service so I definitely will be complaining to whomever is in charge of this location. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the worker Linda was super helpful & she was able to help resolve my issue without causing more chaos for a question like I've had to deal with in the past. The other workers seem to have something going on everytime , and I'm really glad Linda was in today to help make my time with getting my food smoother than usual. I came here for a quick dinner. It is located in the Food Court in the mall. I also got a can of Hawaiian Sun Pass-o-Guava Nectar. I ordered the Island White Fish; the cashier said it would take ten minutes. ::Food:: The Island White Fish Filet came with four large pieces laid on a bed of lettuce. It was tender on the inside but it was bland. The fish was breaded with Japanese panko breadcrumbs. I got one scoop of white rice and a side of macaroni but it had no flavor. For a food court stand its pretty damn good and reasonable. Less than $10 gets you a combo plate. I get the chicken tereyaki with the side of rice and mac salad. Gotta get the mac salad. Add a drink...its more than $10. Duh. The portions are hit & miss tho. My 1st visit there was too much chicken. I wasn't complaining but it was more than I was use to and wasn't able to finish it. On my last visit...juuuuuuust enough. I ended up taking a piece off of my kids plate. Don't judge me! She wasn't gonna finish it anyways!!!! Notable mention: The service was friendly and quick. Overall: If the lines are too long at your usual quick fix food stops at the mall and you've never considered Ono Hawaiian, by all means do try it. Cheers. read more

First time at Ono and it was soooo good. Got the mixed barbecue plate, Short Ribs were hands down the best. Love their teriyaki sauce it tastes so delicious with the meat and rice. The Mac salad is actually really good too didn't expect that, very hearty and not too salty or dry. I'm definitely coming back very soon and getting the all short ribs plate! read more

Got the kalbi short rib. Overall taste was ok and pieces were kind of small. the place was pretty pricey as well. Came out to about $12-13. I didn't get any extra items I did come back a second time and ordered their spam musubi. Don't think it's worth it. The spam pieces are pretty thin and lacking in flavor. Rice balls are actually shaped into triangles and stuffed or mixed with simple ingredients like a salted plum called ume (it tastes salty, and tangy with a touch of sweetness) To more engaging offerings like the lucky cat with japanese pickles with fresh wasabi, ginger, and bonito(dried fish that is sliced paper thin) These finger foods can be enjoyed as a snack or grab a few to make a meal. The Culver City Location has a decor that immerses you in Japan. They have a small market section with alcohol such as saki, handmade dishware from Japan, cute claw machines for kids, and expanded meal offerings! Besides Keiko being absolutely amazing, the food is as well! From curry stuffed to fresh shisho leaves and pickled wasabi!!! There's lots to choose from and the best part.,,.they have always had an expansive vegan menu! Yes they are very Vegan Friendly! I love the Eggplant Chili Miso and Wasabi Tsukudani. The curry one is sooooo good but needs a little more salt. The beef was good too, it reminded me of Yoshinoya. It was about $6 for one. They have a combo plate but I didn't need the sides.

When the associate returned from the back of the store, I asked for the name of the person I had spoken with on the phone. She told me she did not know, even though she had been the one calling from the store phone, which made no sense to me. Overall, no one seemed willing to provide the assistance or information I needed. Because of this negative experience, I decided to cancel my subscription and I no longer wish to remain a customer.

Hopefully they can do a NKD version of the bbq spice seasoning without food coloring additives in the future!
