    Hawaiian BBQ Mix
    Sheba S.

Honestly I was having a bad day until I ordered Ono and it was so delicious & perfect! Whoever made my order needs to get cracked asap because you definitely made my night. I got the BBQ mix plate and it was super fresh & hot also the portions are huge. I ordered Crab Rangoon (3 pcs) it was delicious but disappointing because I thought there would be a sweet n sour sauce but I didn't let that bother me. 10/10

$8 Seafood Aloha Plates with your choice of Fried Fish or Fried Shrimp or their new Lava Shrimp! I chose the latter which was spicy, garlicky and yummy! It came on a bed of comforting white rice and a nice cabbage salad. So worth it!!

I ordered mixed chicken plate, katsu and bbq chicken. They did not throw the katsu sauce in the bag. When I went back ti the counter to where I pick up my order (tatted cook), was told to go ask the cashier for the sauce. He prepared and packaged up my bag, not sure why HE couldn't just ask for one. there were also 2 others next to him who could've helped. He expected me to wait back in line, 6 people deep to ask for sauce. Service sucks!! Would not give this place a chance...chicken was dry and needed the katsu sauce

All I can say is... not good. It was completely empty and it took about 45 minutes to get our food. And when they brought it out they got one of the orders wrong and had to remake for us. The employees had no sense of urgency or care about our wellbeing. They were short and rude whenever we inquired about our order. The only good thing is the unlimited supply of Katsu Sauce. I do not recommend coming here unless you have absolutely no rush at all. Come on Ono. You used to be so good to us.

I ordered through door dash and got two island fire chicken meals, and my chicken was raw, and unsafe to eat, due to cross contamination, I needed to throw everything away, because nothing was safe to consume. I ate some, and am hoping I do not get sick.

Ono.... I drove 30 minutes out of my way in traffic to get to you tonight only to get told "YOU NEED TO PRINT OUT THE EMAIL OFFER, sorry". Wasted 30minutes of my life + the 5 minutes to update this review. Being a long time Ono fan, super disappointed tonight, especially after a long day and NO ONO. It's time to consider changing your "policy to print out your email offers." You are not mailing out paper offers, why do you expect us to print out your email in order to honor your promotion? And on top of that waste my paper and ink? FYI ALL other businesses that email their promotions gladly honor showing email on mobile in order to save paper waste. Go Green and stop forcing potential customers to waste paper and ink.

Where they lack in speed and customer service, they make up for in portion size. My husband and I stopped in for a quick to-go lunch, as I was in the area for work, and needed to get back to "home base" (aka our hotel) to finish prep work for the day. There was a small line when we walked in to order, but it didn't take terribly long to get through. It was the wait for the food that was the killer. We saw three different people complain to the manager about their wait, and the fact that their food hadn't yet come out. The manager looked for all the world like she couldn't possibly care less, and only tried to pacify one of the customers (who I took to be a regular, because they were talking like they were familiar with each other.) The wait could've been managed, I'm sure, had they not let two of their three cooks out of the back to sit and talk story with their family members, who had come in to order their own lunch. That slowed things down significantly. And then the one guy they had in the front bagging and handing over orders disappeared for a few minutes, as well. All this was going on while the manager sat there ignoring everyone and everything except her phone, and sometimes one of the guys working in the back. I guess the three other customers had a right to be angry. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes for our own order, which, when we got back to the hotel, turned out to be stacked full of food. I ordered the BBQ chicken combo, which came with rice and mac salad. There must have been five large pieces of chicken in my plate, all charred to a lovely doneness on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The mac salad was also tasty, with a creamy sauce that offered just a bit of bite and tang. If it weren't for the wait - turning my "quick grab-and-go" lunch into more of an ordeal, I would've given them a higher rating.

I ordered the Island Fire Chicken. It was mostly tendon and fat along with some meat. It was nasty. And a total rip-off.

I had never had L & L, it seems like this might be a chain, but the pictures looked interesting and different. I got the barbecue plate, my wife got the Three's Company Combo, and we ordered spam musubi to split. The portions were very large, and all of the food was really tasty. I was very surprised by the spam musubi. It was the perfect handheld appetizer, and I dipped it in the barbecue sauce, which made it even better. All of the meats were cooked perfectly. They traveled pretty well also. I am not used to getting Hawaiian food delivered. I would say the one knock on L&L not being five star is the price. The combo plates are very expensive. A combination plate was $20. Now, the portion sizes are large enough that you can have some leftovers for lunch the next day, but I would have rather a more affordable combination plate.

It was tender, flavorful, and a pretty large serving. This is your typical hawaiin bbq with hawaiian music playing, license plates and surfboards on the walls, and just the hawaiian bbq ambiance. Although it was small and not a place I'd want to eat in at, it was clean. Service was alright. I could barely understand the lady behind the counter, but she seemed friendly, and the cook seemed happy, so maybe that made the food good. The BIGGEST UPSET is the PRICE. I paid just under $22 for my teriyaki beef plate. I could get the same thing at Ono Hawaiian BBQ for $13 taxes included with similar taste and portion. For the price, I'd rather get 2 plates at Ono vs 1 plate at L&L. Honestly, I probably will not be back due to pricing.

When we arrived, the entrance was constantly blocked by the hostess and security chatting. One staff member told me to head to the bar to order, but security then acted like I was doing something wrong. A little communication between staff would go a long way. At the bar, I was skipped twice while waiting to order. When I pointed it out, the bartender told me to "hold on" while assisting a 3rd walk up after me. I asked if we could move to an open table with table service as there were many empty for ghe hour we had already been there and was told no because they were too busy. Fair enough, but that's exactly when management should be visible, coordinating staff and helping guests. Instead, when I spoke with a manager, the response was essentially that he was focused on the bar area. Good management oversees the entire operation, especially during peak periods. I was one of 5 people in our party who spent around $100 on food and drinks (apx $500 spent in total), yet the service was a mess. If it's self-service, that's fine...but make it clear and make it work. Instead, I was skipped at the bar while ordering, staff gave conflicting directions, and there was virtually no support once we had our food. We found ourselves constantly going back and forth to the bar for drinks, utensils, soy sauce, and anything else we needed. No one checked in, and getting help from staff or management was nearly impossible. The food was decent, but the customer experience wasn't. Venice Beach is always busy. This shouldn't come as a surprise. If you're going to market yourself as part of that vibrant community, you need the operational standards to match.
