This is the option for an extra serving of Chicken on their menu.
    Jake H.

The food could be decent, which is the only reason this isn't a one-star review. I regularly order the Coastal Power Chicken Bowl, advertised as having 62g of protein and pictured with a generous amount of chicken. After getting yet another tiny serving, I decided to pay an extra $3 for additional chicken. They gave me a cup on the side containing FOUR kids bite-sized pieces of chicken. People joke about Chipotle skimping on portions, but this California Fish Grill takes it to another level. I honestly thought it had to be a mistake, so I went back inside to ask. The employee told me it wasn't a mistake; "this shouldn't be right but that's how they sell it". He offered to make me another cup but his coworker told him to make me wait for more chicken. It doesn't take that long to get another four pieces of chicken ready so I left. All their protein bowls are like this, I'm done supporting this scam.

I tried the Cajun shrimp tacos and they were pretty good. The sides (zucchini and beans) were just okay. My friend got the swai fish tacos with kale slaw and brussel sprouts that were good. She said the strawberry mint juice was too sweet and more like a lemonade. We came when they opened and it didn't seem like they were ready to be open yet. It was pretty dark inside.

Some of the grease in the bottom of the container. Ridiculous. Fish and chips and grease

Utterly disgusted by the amount of oil coming from my fish and chips. The fish looked nothing like the picture and the fries were soggy and full of oil after my 10 minute ride home. I've had the grilled fish many times, today I wanted to try the fish and chips. Bad decision on my part, bad execution on CFG. I went at lunch time so it was really crowded. I went to Trader Joe's to pass the time and still had to wait a little for my order to be ready. Two stars because they can do grilled fish right but they need to take the fish and chips off the menu or go back to the drawing board.

This is a weeknight staple for my family of five. It's such a relief knowing that I can come and grab something heathy when I'm super busy. Diana was so sweet and helpful! She has a beautiful spirit!

Stopped by California Fish Grill near the Westfield mall in Culver City for a quick lunch and tried the Dynamite Shrimp Bowl, and it really hit the spot. The shrimp were lightly fried and tossed in their dynamite sauce, which had just the right amount of flavor without being too heavy. It came with cilantro, green onions, daikon sprouts, tomatoes, cabbage, and a sesame soy sauce that tied everything together nicely. Fresh, balanced, and filling without feeling like too much for lunch. I also ordered a fish taco (meh!) and a side of the Brussels sprouts, and those were a great add on. Cooked well with good flavor. Ordering was super easy using the kiosk, and the staff was friendly when picking up my food. The restaurant itself was clean, including the restrooms, which I always notice. Overall, a solid lunch option. Quick, fresh, & satisfying. I'll def be back.

Any day is a good day for some CFG! I don't have to think twice about this, I know CFG provides some great seafood and sides. I'm a fanatic when it comes to the crispy tempura battered fish, and the delicious kale slaw. I usually order online, but this was a drive by decision. Once I arrived at CFG, I ordered from the kiosk, thanks to the assistance of a helpful restaurant employee. The restaurant's atmosphere is lively and energetic. I waited for my delicious food, but I didn't have to wait for long. I received a message that my order was ready, and then I was off to enjoy the rest of the day. CFG's service is on point, just like the delicious food.

I want to start by saying I am a huge lover of CFG and dine at one of their locations at least once a week. Due to that, it's not easy for me to take a star off but this time it really came down to the dish I ordered. After downloading their new app, I decided to try one of the new Protein Bowls and they only had one option that was part of the deal if you got the app and it was the Everything Protein Bowl. It was described as Cajun shrimp, salmon, swai, and grilled chicken over white rice with beans, diced tomato, chili mix, and chopped parsley, served with a side of roasted tomatillo salsa. Unfortunately, it didn't look anything like the image. It ended up being a massive bowl of rice with a few pieces of fish and chicken on top, which was pretty disappointing. I probably should have said something, but since I visit so often, I know I just won't order it again and will stick to my usual plate. On a positive note, parking is super easy since it's located at the Westfield Culver City mall, so it took no time at all to park. Still a loyal CFG fan, just hoping this bowl gets a little more balance in the future.

Ordered online at 12:30 PM, got there at 12:40 PM expected time, waited an additional 10 minutes, finally got served, then waited another 2 minutes to get the only cashier available to get my drink. They either need more staff or change the order of things for faster service, mind you people don't have unlimited time, when ordering ahead, I do except my order to be ready for pick up.

I've been so into California Fish Grill lately, I stopped by for lunch today after Venice Beach. This Culver City location has a good sized parking lot, plus is right next to Trader Joe's, Starbucks, and the Westfield Culver City Mall so you can take care of a few errands at once. The staff at this location are so nice! My friend and I ordered ahead for pickup, walked in to find our order hot & ready to go. Very well organized store. I tried their Grilled Rockfish Rice Plate today with their Garlic Butter Sauce and swooned over it. Honestly, the garlic butter sauce has been in my brain since last week when I tried it for the first time. I had to get back to a location to drench my throat again with that goodness. I also tried the Zucchini with my meal today and was a fan. I've been so won over by California Fish Grill! This Culver City location is another win!

Probably the healthiest casual dining anywhere in Southern California. Eaten here twice. Service is always uniformly excellent, but ordering can sometimes take a little bit of doing. First time I had the fish and chips. Great place to start. I've also had the everything bowl which was additionally crazy good. My wife had the Poké bowl which she said was sensational.

First time in and it did not disappoint. When you enter, you can order at the counter with an employee or at a kiosk. We ordered at the kiosk and thought it was user friendly. My husband and I both ordered the everything protein bowl with added avocado and Parmesan garlic bread. The bowls came with a side of salsa and green salsa verde and we added both on our bowls. The Parmesan garlic bread came with a small side of butter to dip in. You are able to see the chef grilling the protein too. You enter a phone number when ordering on the kiosk and you receive a text when your order is ready for pick up at check counter. It was definitely good and we would return if we lived in the area.

You can't go wrong with California fish grill. Free parking, easy in and out, and quality food. This is by no means a fancy restaurant, but if you are looking for some good tacos, shrimp skewers, and easy access this is the spot!

I live in Del Rey and I travel often on Venice Blvd at Sepulveda. Tamix is parked right in front of of the Shell station on Venice. You can see their bright lights from a 1/4 mile away. I'm always in a rush, so I never stop. Well tonight is my night. It was a bit cold and windy, but who cares - I get TACOS! There is always a line and folks sitting at the provided tables and seats in front of their truck. They have all your favorites, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, gringas and even fajitas! My favorite and default tacos are always going to be the carnitas and carne asada. Right after that will be Al Pastor and Chicken. They also have lingua, tripe, cabeza as well as chorizo! While they take cards, bring cash, that's the best price. Card prices are a bit more. Their prices are clearly marked on the huge menu. Orders come out quick and help yourself to the condiments bar filled with limes, pickled onions, red and green salsas and sauces, radishes, and pico de gallo. The guys behind the grill are friendly and fast. They do a great job of keeping the area clean and keeping the condiment bar stocked. They have trucks all over LA. Check out their locations on their website or here on Yelp! I am coming back and want to try their burritos and tortas!

I had ingested several bites of it, (with hot sauce), but I couldn't take another bite. The meat was chemically contaminated & I got sick not long after for the whole night. It was important for me to tell the person that runs the stand. I had the best of intentions to help this business and wanted nothing in return. I walked up to the stand & asked the woman who takes the cash, (with the sharp eyebrows), if I could please speak to the person in charge, (or owner). At first she ignored me & then said, "I don't understand - no speak English." I asked who speaks English and she sent me to the back of the line by the cooks. I stood there for another 10 minutes and no one wanted to talk to me or answer my question. I told them that there was a big problem with their meat the night before & had brought back the entire meal, so they could try the meat. No one did anything except talk to each other in Spanish, (which I understood). The cook graciously offered me a replacement meal & tried to problem solve. The tall man, who spoke English, (as shown next to cashier Karen in the photo), was going to give me a replacement meal. I waited 15-20 minutes. I asked for the chicken quesadilla, and the vitriol that came out of cashier Karen, who said she didn't speak English was unbelievable. She refused to give me any food and said I had to pay $6 for the replacement taco. I tried to tell her that it was a replacement and she kept yelling aggressively at me and said, "no - you pay $6. You're not getting anything " and that I, "never bought any taco." She became angry and verbally abusive because I was getting a replacement meal, as a solution to my getting chemically poisoned. She was a bully and aggressively yelling at me to humiliate me in front of the other customers & personnel. By this time she had no problem speaking English. (A group of young ladies started talking to me, felt bad that I was the focus of cashier Karen's rudeness. They complimented me & wished me a good night.) The guy next to cashier Karen handed me the bag with the quesadilla. I asked cashier Karen for her name and she ignored me. Then I asked the guy next to her what her name was and he put his hands together like duck lips and rudely opened and closed his hand at me, (meaning that I'm talking to much) This was extremely inappropriate & as soon as I left, I threw the food out, because I didn't trust or hold it past any of them to have put something nasty in my food. By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.

The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated.
