We really like New Flavors. It is usually not crowded and parking is free in their lot right next door to the eatery. The place is super cute and quite large. It is comfortable and they have some nice booths. Seat at one of those. The service is fast and friendly. We have been many times with friends. The dumplings are great and I love all of their fried rice. The noodle dishes are the best. I wish they had more duck dishes. But they have everything else you might want. read more

Wow. Where do I begin? I am heartbroken yet another gem I grew up coming to is closing. This city is losing its best spots just to make more apartments. Cmon... New Flavors has the best Chinese food on the west side. Their hot and sour soup is AMAZING. Tonight was their last night open, I brought a group of friends so that we could give them a good amount of business and everyone else had the same idea. It was packed. My friends were so sad that it was going to be their first and last time there. My grandma and I often came here for lunch, it's her favorite spot. The service is friendly, quick, fun and my heart was so sad hugging them goodbye tonight, thanking them for all they've done over the years! The one downside was the service-- I'm genuinely not someone who takes service into real consideration, but for those who do, this might not be the place haha. The Was immediately seated inside and the food came out quickly however. This is a great place to come for a quick, cheap, and filling meal! We really like this old school Chinese restaurant with its fresh, healthy ingredients and the kind of take-out I loved years ago living in New York City and in West Hollywood. This is a family owned business that's been around for 20 years! So funny I was walking next door to Paco Taco's but they're closed on Mondays which made me try out this place I never knew existed! We had the crispy duck and the roasted duck and we were just blown away with how great it was. it was crispy where it needed to be and duck was so flavorful and cooked just right. We were in heaven and will have it again. We also had the sweet and sour shrimp and the shrimp was ever so tasty as was the sauce. The chicken with pea pods was perfect. Think about a panda express but more mom and pop restaurant nothing too authentic but definitely hits the spot better than a fast food chain. The staff does have a thick accent but nothing that can't be understood. They have a great service, always refilled water and checked on our table. I recommend going during their lunchtime menus as it was so cheap and so much food. This is my go to spot when I'm craving Chinese food that's not panda express. New Flavors is definitely a place worth to try. We ordered pick up on 4/28/23. Ordering was easy. The person who took our order was friendly and patient. We ordered shrimp chow mein, beef chow fun, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, fish with mixed vegetables and mushrooms with asparagus. Everything tasted good. We enjoyed everything except the egg drop soup was different than what my kids are used to. This one is too watery. We are used to a more plain kind. The hot and sour soup was really good tho. The restaurant is open for dine in. If anyone remembers Gin Sing back in the day, New Flavors are now the new owners. Same location on Centinela and Washington. Yelp Restaurant Experience: Haven't gone into the restaurant. Most of my experience is through delivery orders. The minimum amount to spend is $15 to get free delivery around certain mile radius. Service: Most of the service that we usually get is getting delivery. They're usually punctual and friendly when I get the food from them. Found out the other day that the driver is from El Monte and speaks cantonese. Food To Order: In the past, the usual suspects depending on the mood would be 1) Hawaiian bbq mix (bbq chicken, beef, and short ribs). Great idea to order so you can taste different meats. 2) Katsu chicken (chicken katsu is lightly breaded and has a crunch when you bite into them), 3) Kung pao chicken, new flavors fried rice and chow mein (shrimp, chicken, and beef). We picked up takeout food from here, since the restaurant itself isn't really a comfortable sit-down kind of place. It's small and very cluttered and doesn't give a relaxing vibe. Service was quick, so that's a plus. I liked their hot and sour soup, which is always one of my go to items. However, my shrimp chow fun was 90% heavy oily noodles and about 10% overcooked shrimp. There were green onions and a bit of cabbage, and that was that. I would have appreciated a few more vegetables in the mix. There wasn't much flavor until I doused it in soy sauce. My boyfriend got the mixed appetizer plate, which SUPPOSEDLY consisted of two of the following: fried shrimps, BBQ ribs, paper-wrapped chicken, wontons and egg rolls. Upon getting it home and opening it, he discovered that the shrimp were missing. Womp-womp. :( New Flavors is very close to us, but unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning. If you like crispy food this is the place for you! I personally love crispy chicken & perhaps even slightly over cooked. But I know that's not for everyone. I enjoy the crispy orange chicken the sauce is really good and thick +! the chicken is crispyyyyy and just up my alley. I have been coming here for some time but the fried rice recently changed and it is not the same as it was before. Not horrible but not as good as it once was. Our family has been in Venice/Mar Vista for three generations and this was our beloved neighborhood restaurant for over half my life. We got takeout during here on all occasions, when people were sick or celebrating-- so often that they knew our voice on the phone. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here, and the takeout nursed our dad during a major illness. We are heartbroken. New Flavors is a sufficient place for semi-authentic Chinese food in Los Angeles. Though, doesn't compare to authentic Chinese restaurants in the Monterey Park area. The honey walnut shrimp was the highlight dish of my initial visit. Savory, delicious goodness; most certainly one of my favorite dishes in Chinese cuisine. Additionally, the non-authentic chow mein, chicken, and beef dishes were average at best, not great tasting yet not terrible. Family-style serving portions offered. The prices are inexpensive. Customer service was pleasant and surprisingly attentive, especially when I asked the servers for extra utensils and refills on hot tea. Pro-tip: park in the Bank of America parking lot across the street from this restaurant, since finding available street parking in Los Angeles (particularly Downtown LA) is always a headache. Don't know if I'll return or go out of my way to eat here again, because the food wasn't terrific tasting nor did it have an authentic taste quality. Yet, I recommend it enough if you're in this part of Los Angeles and wanting Chinese food that's tasty enough and cheaply priced to fulfill one's appetite. read more

Ordered delivery on the Monday that had lightening and thunderstorm. I ordered it before the weather storm, but the traffic was insane. My order was delivered within an hour. It was free and we tipped like $5. The lunch specials were about $8-$9 each. Since we got delivery, there wasn't soup, but there was a lot of food anyway so we didn't miss out. The orange chicken was crispy and tangy. It wasn't too sweet like some other restaurants. The rices were tasty too. The beef and broccoli was comparable to other restaurants.
