-1 food sucks -1 bathrooms are really, terribly dirty -1 the service was awful. they were fast. and did i mention the food was bad? :)

Wow. Where do I begin? I am heartbroken yet another gem I grew up coming to is closing. This city is losing its best spots just to make more apartments. Cmon... New Flavors has the best Chinese food on the west side. Their hot and sour soup is AMAZING. Tonight was their last night open, I brought a group of friends so that we could give them a good amount of business and everyone else had the same idea. It was packed. My friends were so sad that it was going to be their first and last time there. My grandma and I often came here for lunch, it's her favorite spot. The service is friendly, quick, fun and my heart was so sad hugging them goodbye tonight, thanking them for all they've done over the years! We will miss you New Flavors and no apartments are worth losing such a good spot.

The food was delicious. Our favorites were the bbq pork fried rice and the spicy tangerine chicken. The lady that served us was very sweet. I love the Chinese decor and how quiet this place is. It's super underrated. Only locals seem to o ow about it. Parking can get pretty full. Very nice place to enjoy some good Chinese food with the family. Will definitely continue to keep coming here.

New Flavors is a very authentic restaurant where the food exceeded expectations for the price! The one downside was the service-- I'm genuinely not someone who takes service into real consideration, but for those who do, this might not be the place haha. The Was immediately seated inside and the food came out quickly however. This is a great place to come for a quick, cheap, and filling meal! Some of the lunch menu items come with soup, a whole entree, rice, and a spring roll. You get a lot! The taste was also great-- definitely got the authentic / chinese flavors I was craving! I especially recommend the Szechuan Beef.

Mar Vista is indeed fortunate to be home to New Flavors, a family owned eatery preparing authentic top quality Chinese food with a wide variety of dishes to choose from and all prepared to order deliverEd to the table fresh, hot and tasty. The dinning room is spacious and can easily accommodate large groupa. also there is available off street parking. Take away and prompt delivery are offered.

Price is good and the portions are more than shareable. Love the leftovers the next day. Service and ambiance is definitely there. I ordered a Heineken steamed veggies, shrimp fried rice and chicken chow mein. Definitely coming back.

This is a family owned business that's been around for 20 years! So funny I was walking next door to Paco Taco's but they're closed on Mondays which made me try out this place I never knew existed! I also just got back from Hawaii so it was ironic that they have both Hawaiian and Chinese food lol! You get so much food for the price so I'm taking some to go for lunch tomorrow! This place is not fancy at all (3 stars and a lot of clutter) but the food is good hence the 4. They were super busy with pick ups. Some customers coming in to order have been going there for many years.

This location is definitely a authentic "fast food" Chinese spot. Think about a panda express but more mom and pop restaurant nothing too authentic but definitely hits the spot better than a fast food chain. The staff does have a thick accent but nothing that can't be understood. They have a great service, always refilled water and checked on our table. I recommend going during their lunchtime menus as it was so cheap and so much food. This is my go to spot when I'm craving Chinese food that's not panda express. No issues on food, great flavor, great portions, solid place. I hundred percent recommend.

Heartwarming and gingery goodness. -BBQ chicken plate: also very solid, not super sweet like teriyaki and comes in a decent sized portion. Mac salad is legit and so good - perfect consistency and seasonings. -French toast: one of the best! A superb doughy, chewy, cinnamony, thick cut slice that I drowned in butter and syrup. Ordered take out and it was ready within 15 min or so. Parking lot looked tiny but we just parked on the residential street and it was a quick walk. Wish I lived closer (I'd be here all the time) but totally worth the trip - will be coming back again very soon!

The macadamia pancake was a massive amount of vanilla custard with a stingy amount of macadamia nut sprinkled on it. If you love massive amounts of custard, then this is for you. Unfortunately the custard did not compliment the pancakes but rather overwhelmed them. I have a favorite Hawaiian food spot in Lawndale and will make the trip as it is definitely worth it.

Over the years I've gotten take-out here but have also done dine-in. It seems they mostly do catering now, because they have very short business hours for the public. They are only open Thursdays and Fridays 10-3. Per the nice male employee who gave me my order, they're open on Sat and Sun if they don't have a lot of catering jobs, otherwise they're closed. Their website says their dining room is closed, but the employee says it's open Thurs and Fri. Nevertheless, I followed the website's info and ordered pick up. Here's what I ordered: 1) Komai's Big Breakfast. Komai was Aloha's original chef. Two eggs with all the meats: Portuguese sausage, Spam, Vienna sausage, corned beef hash plus 2 scoops of rice and a Hawaiian roll. No surprises here, very nice. 2) Kal B Chicken plate lunch. Chicken marinated in the same sauce as the more familiar kalbi beef short ribs, with rice and mac salad. The chicken did not seem to take up the marinade as well as beef, so it was tasty but on the dry side. I'd probably give their chicken teriyaki a go next time. The mac salad was fine, did have potatoes. 3) Spam musubi. Again no surprises, classic 4) ordered a side of char siu, but it was not available. The menu spans both worlds, and no matter which direction you go, you're in for something special. Take out only, no tables, but trust me -- you won't care. The 4 Piece Indonesian Fried Chicken with rice is an absolute must. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The crust is insanely crispy, the seasoning is perfect, and the Indonesian dipping sauce ties it all together in a way that's completely unique. This alone is worth the drive. The Hawaiian plates are equally impressive. The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the beef and chicken were perfectly marinated -- sweet, savory, and deeply flavorful. Everything comes with rice and a creamy mac salad, and the Hawaiian Sun drinks (Mango Orange and Strawberry Lilikoi) are the perfect companion to wash it all down.
