The first time I got food, I found feathers in my chicken Katsu, but I didn't find them towards the end. It was like fried into it. If it happens again, I'll make sure to take a picture. The second time I ordered BBQ beef, it said online that she had 6-8 ounces, but it turned out to be 1 or 2 ounces. I sure did get plenty of rice. Not sure if the workers try to take extra food home. Food was good and tasted just like the other Ono Hawaiian locations. The staff was nice and professional, So no issues there at all. Food came out fast. 5 Stars here However, the layout of this new location is terrible. They have two long tables in the middle, and people end up lining up right beside you either in the middle or on the right side of the tables. While we were eating, my back was basically touching a stranger. It felt way too close and in my personal space. They really need to move the line to the back area, away from the tables, or rethink the table layout completely. Great food and great staff, but the setup makes the dining experience uncomfortable. read more

I'm giving this Ono Hawaiian BBQ location a four-star rating based on a noticeable drop in customer service compared to my first visit. On my first visit, the experience was great--I was greeted upon arrival not only by the cashier but also by the team preparing the food. That welcoming atmosphere stood out. Today, however, while the food was just as exquisite as before, the customer service was lacking. When I entered the establishment, I went straight to the order pickup/online order line. My presence and appearance were not acknowledged by anyone. I made eye contact with several front-counter employees, yet no one greeted me or asked if I needed assistance. There was an individual standing next to the online pickup area who appeared to be too busy on their phone to acknowledge me at all. Moments later, a female customer arrived after me to pick up a DoorDash order, and I realized that the individual on their phone was responsible for handing off online orders. That gentleman definitely needs to work on multitasking and should be trained to acknowledge customers' presence. Additionally, being on a personal phone while on the clock--especially in a customer-facing role--is something that should be coached and corrected. That said, the food was absolutely delicious, just as I remembered. The cleanliness of the establishment and the overall presentation were also excellent. In summary, Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Los Banos delivers outstanding food and maintains a clean, well-presented restaurant, but the team needs to go back to the cutting board when it comes to attention to detail in customer service. The two stars are solely based on the good being good. I went through the DT and it took 10 minutes. Finally after watching several employees walk back and forth with no urgency, she comes back with my food. I asked Yasmin if they were short staffed, she replied that she doesn't cook the food and closed the window on me. Very disappointing service for a place that just opened. read more

My first and last time going to a Ono BBQ. Thank goodness I had a BOGO coupon. All of their chicken dishes are thigh, with the exception of a grilled chicken breast, but I was told it would be at least 15 minute wait. I ordered the aloha pick 2 plate with chicken katsu and beef. The second plate was beef and crispy shrimp. Both plates come with a ton of salad and a tiny squirt of dressing on top. I like light dressing, but this dressing was almost non existent. The beef was dry, looked like jerky and could use some moisture or sauce, none was offered on this to go order. The shrimp is crispy, but greasy and fishy tasting. Again nothing to dip it in. If they offer any sauce on the side it's not advertised and no one asks you if you would like any. I have no desire to visit this establishment again. read more

I love it! My first time going to Ono Hawaiian. I buyed the Guava pie and already enjoyed it. The Hawaiian BBQ chicken was good too, was really hungry and satisfied after eating it and macaroni salad was not bad at all. Of course, this restaurant is pretty new, I hope that it will continue to improve and thrive. read more
