I love Ono Hawaiian, but this location (Power Rd and 202) was the worst in terms of food. I ordered the teriyaki chicken. The chicken was 80% fat. The teriyaki sauce was watered down. I'm surprised this place only has 3 stars. We've been a few times and had great food there, very close to what you can eat in Hawaii. We both got the chicken and bbq combo, a fried piece of chicken (crispy and tender) some grilled chicken and some thin sliced beef. The smell in here is overwhelming when you walk in. That sizzle from the grill will ring in your ears. If you wear glasses then they will become fogged. We walked in a couple minutes after they opened. Huge puddle of water on the floor over where you stand to order. We split a combo meal of pork and katsu plus two drinks. Walked over to the soda machine and water was all over the floor and none of the spigots were on, so soda went everywhere. Then went to sit down, and literally every single table was dirty. We got there when they opened, so that dirty was from the day before. The food came out. We took a couple bites and knew something was off. Aloha! My family and I wanted something different and ordered the family meal to be delivered last night. There's lots of choices and we decided to get the teriyaki chicken, bbq beef and pork ribs! It was absolutely mouth watering. The chicken was my fave, tender and juicy with a tangy sweet sauce on top of cabbage and broccoli. Came here for the first time and unfortunately disappointed with the food. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Mix - BBQ Chicken which was tender and was the best part of the mix. The BBQ Beef & Kalbi Short Ribs were over cooked (see the photo). They were not busy so I don't understand why that was the case. My wife ordered the Chicken Combo - BBQ Chicken (same as above) but the Chicken Katsu coating was too hard. It wasn't over cooked but it seems the coating they used was not a good quality Panko crumb. The macaroni salad was decent. The service was fine. I do not plan on returning. read more

We got food tonight for dinner and we usually do one bbq chicken and one bbq beef, I had the beef and 85% of it was inedible, full of over cooked, with cartilage, gristle and fat I had to spit out every other bite. This is easily the worst Hawaiian BBQ place I've ever been to. In California, I never had a problem with this chain. Here, we got 3 plates. 2 did not come as ordered, and all 3 had chicken katsu....
