Just had the best dinner from Ono this evening and I had to update my review. Shout out to tonight's crew! I took a risk and placed an order during the dinner rush knowing it would probably be very busy, and it was but the crew handled it like complete Pro's. I wish I would have asked the young lady who took my order for her name, best customer service I have experienced in a while. My food was cooked exactly as I requested and was ready when she said it would be. When I arrived it was busy but this young lady was so nice to everyone and I think she was mending phone orders and cashier alone while another employee was on break which is beyond awesome! The food was decent, nothing to write home about, but they need to figure out customer service. Just got a Postmates delivery from Ono... my order is all wrong and when I called, rather than apologize and try to fix it, he seemed shocked that the order was incorrect and then asked me to drive there so they could see the incorrect food and receipt! Are you kidding? I didn't order delivery so that I would have to drive there anyway. I ordered a combo plate- no options even given- chicken katsu and kalua pork. How did I end up with teriyaki chicken, which I cannot stand, instead of katsu? Food is good, never had a problem with that, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The girls up front seem very clueless. While I was there, one girl was setting up bags in an open position to quickly put the food containers in. That's all she did. They act as if you're a bother when you ask for a menu or are ready to order. Another girl was just talking to the cooks in the back. Talking about how they're gonna hang out that weekend and are so ready to drink and can't wait to see each other. Overall, the food is tasty, filling, and actually reminds me of the food in Hawaii. Notes: I like that they do not over-sauce the meat. There are sauces available by the drink dispenser. The lunch plates have enough food for 2 meals for me, they offer mini meals if you are looking for a lighter portion. I have been absolutely obsessed with Ono for a while now. I've been impatiently waiting for this location to open because it's about two blocks away from home. I go there quite often now. The food is great! Staff is friendly. The place is very clean and a cute little spot to hang out. My favorite menu items have always been the chicken katsu and the kalbi short ribs. However, On my last visit , I finally tried the grilled Mahi mahi and I can't wait to have it again. I found my new favorite dish! I'm just a little disappointed it'll only be available for a limited time. It's so good that I wish it was a permanent item. They all come with rice, steamed veggies and macaroni salad. First I want to say that I enjoy Ono's food and I've been looking forward to this location opening. While I was waiting for my order today I witnessed a worker reorganizing canned beverages in cardboard trays on the floor behind the register. At first I didn't think anything of it, but then the worker stacked the cardboard tray on top of other trays of canned beverages, thus transferring what ever was on the floor to the rims of the cans below the top trays. Love this Ono! Super clean, plexiglass barriers for COVID safety, and the staff was actually wiping everything down when we came in. The decor is cozy, which sounds like a silly thing to call out, but it shows they're paying attention to all the small details even though sit-down dining isn't allowed right now.
