If they had a Zero Star rating choice I would give ZERO at this time. Received a bad installation of service from On Tech that I paid for. They are not responding back to fix damage. I requested to speak with a Manger as there is a Electrical feedback and/or short to the Doorbell and home wiring they installed. Also the Cameras are not functioning correctly and other additional problems. Helen called me back telling me that the Manger would call me 3 days from now. Also that they had given me a appointment for 5 days from now. I want a Formal Complain for the charge of $300 for the installation and a call from a Real Manger there. Back in November 2021 I ordered 6 black in color HD Night n day camera's for added security to the house. When I placed the order for the camera's I stated 5 times black in color. The 2 guys show up with white camera's and stated we saw the order but this is all we have. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE FRAUDS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! THEY FORGE SIGNATURES ON DOCUMENTS!!!! On February 5th, they sent a technician to my house named Jorge to install my Ring Spotlight Camera. He seemed surprised that it was a hardwire install and he seemed to be struggling with figuring out how to put it up. After a few hours, he finally told me that the camera was defective, so he couldn't install it. During this conversation, I noticed that he did not reinstall my light fixture above my garage that he had taken down and had the parts in his Dish Network van. So, I told him that he needed to reinstall my light fixture. He said that he didn't think he was supposed to reinstall it. I told him that since he took it down, he needed to reinstall it before he left. Once he was done putting the fixture back up, he just drove off without letting me know he was done. I called OnTech to tell them what happened and to let them know that the fist technician didn't know what they were doing and tried to steal my light fixture. They apologized and said they would send someone else out. On February 9th, they sent a technician to my house named John who was in a Dish Network van as well. John tried to install the camera, but after a few hours came into the house to talk to me. He told me that the first technician, Jorge, dropped and broke my camera. John said that him and his supervisor got in contact with Jorge, and he admitted to dropping and breaking the camera. He then said that he got approval from his supervisor for OnTech to order me a new Ring Spotlight Camera and then send someone else out to install it, since this was their fault that this happened. About an hour later I receive an email with a service agreement attached stating that John explained to me that the camera was defective and that's why it couldn't be install. The service agreement also had my forged signature on it. I called customer service immediately after receiving this fraudulent document and email. The first representative I spoke to hung up on me. I wasn't even yelling to her, I was just explaining to her what the situation was and before I could give her all the details, she hung up. I called back and spoke to a second representative named Jen. She informed me that John had not reached out to his supervisor at all and did not file a damage claim like he told me he did for me to get a new camera and then have it installed. I asked to be put in contact with John, and she refused to do so. She said all she could do was file a claim and someone from their damage department would call me within 72 hours. I want my money back or I want a new camera with installation as promised by John. This company is horrible! DO NOT USE THEM! They will break your products, lie about it, and forge your signature. Yesterday I had Nest Doorbell, Nest Lock and Nest Thermostat installed. After the thermostat was install the AC Kept cutting off. I called to try to get a technician to come back, they said the best they could do is schedule someone for Saturday, 4 days away. I asked to Talk to tech support. The guy never trouble shot anything. He said it sounded like a wiring problem and I'd have to wait for a tech. Since it was over 100 degrees I hade to start trouble shooting by search the web. I found the thermostat was rebooting and turning the ac off every time it rebooted. One of the solution was Check for software updates. So I did. I found the software was almost a year old and there had been many software updates. Why wouldn't a tech insure the equipment they are installing was up to date ??? I also found the thermostat is lose at the base. And I believe is defective as it doesn't have a good connection. These are basic installation step every tech should perform. I paid extra for a years worth of tech support as well as paid for installation. Neither of which were able to do their jobs. I'm not sure if there are any other things that aren't working or set up correctly, but I'd like a qualified technician to come look at it. Someone that can know what they are doing. To say I'm disappointed, frustrated and feel Ripped Off is an understatement. The level of customer service and technical ability of your company should be embarrassing!!! read more

The "technician"(and I use the term lightly) showed up and he didn't know why or what he was there to install. When I told him a Nest Thermostat, which is also a lousy product imho, he started reading the instructions on how to do it. When that was unsuccessful he texted his company for step by step instructions while I waited. 3 hours later, after playing with Nest and tinkering with my heat system and the thermostat he finally gave up and said that it is not compatible with my heat system because I don't have the C-wire(power wire). Now mind you I told him that when he walked in the door but he assured me he had a work around. I reminded him that he had assured me it was possible 3 hours ago and he hung his head low and said "yeah I thought I could do it but I can't". I need to update my review of OnTech, I originally posted one star and a VERY negative review as they were unable to provide ANY info on an order I had previously placed and trying to find out why it had not shipped. After contacting my credit card provider, it suddenly showed up three days later after scrambling to find a suitable replacement Christmas gift. I commend them for shipping a difficult to locate item, but not impressed with their inability to provide any updates to orders placed. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen. Had a Nest installed and there was issues with it not consistently heating up the house. After having issues for a few days, I contacted OnTech to have them take a look after talking with one of their "professionals" to troubleshoot. They mentioned that the Nest Power Adapter should resolve the issue and would send someone to install and take a look. The tech showed up and installed it, but didn't honestly seem to be too familiar on how the Google Nest worked. A day later, we were still having the same issue, so I contacted OnTech again and they said that they would send the same tech with their supervisor to take another look. We had the thermostat set to 90 before they arrived from early in the morning just to try to see if it would heat the house. The tech then proceeded to lie to me in front of his supervisor and said that the issue was that out thermostat was "off" when he arrived. He also said "You can also set the temperature on the Nest even if it is off", which is completely NOT TRUE. When the Nest is off, you cannot get access to the screen to set a temperature. I honestly seemed to know more about the Nest than the 2 "pro" technicians. They then said that the issue was our boiler (more on that later) and proceeded to leave. I then brought in the plumber who installed our gas furnace as well as another person (they were able to take a look the same day instead of waiting for the original plumber) and they both were able to see that there was nothing wrong with our boiler, but the issue was with the thermostat. We had our plumber replace it with a smart thermostat from Honeywell and the heat has worked perfectly ever since. Calling customer service back had to be one of the most frustration experiences I have ever had with a contractor. I am currently waiting back for a call from a supervisor. I got a call from their emergency calls department asking if everything was resolved. I kept trying to explain that the statement she kept saying that "the thermostat was off when the technician arrived" was not true and I didn't understand what she was trying to ask me. She just kept on talking anyway. She just kept repeating that she wanted to close out some damage claim and I kept trying to ask her to explain what that meant, multiple times. It got heated and while I may not have handled it the best, at this point I was just beyond frustrated and fed up and she just kept repeating the same thing over and over again after asking her what it meant, so I hung up. At this point, the advice I would give, is to just go to a good plumber/electrician/HVAC installer and skip OnTech. They claim that their technicians are cross-trained (our tech came in a satellite tv repair van), but they seemed to not be too familiar with the Google Nest at all. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO INSTALL ANYTHING! I ordered several google nest products from google directly and paid for installation of each item totaling $640 for installing all devices. Handyman coordinated the installation and dispatched OnTech. Handyman cancelled the day of and then the OnTech Tech called and showed up with no notice. Then stated he was only installing two wired doorbells and three wired cameras but not the wired floodlight because I didn't pay for that. I showed my receipt and then he spoke with his "manager" and stated he couldn't install it because he is not an electrician. He then stated that I had to pay $50 of an adapter for each doorbell. Once I realized that I was not going to get what I already paid over $2200 for her. I stated I would just request a refund and send it all back. Absolutely horrible service and price gauging onsite. They suggested that I sign up for a membership for an extra $249 a year to get 10% off of services that we're overpriced. After I figured out that the 4 Ring doorbells I had purchased I couldn't even use, it had been 35 days and Ontech refused to refund my money or do an exchange. The products had not been opened. I scheduled for a technician to come out to my location between 8AM - 10AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Assumingly, with a two-hour installation, I assumed the technician would be to my location at 8AM. Unfortunately, the timeframe has been updated from 7:45AM since and now it's estimated the latest he'll arrive is 11:45AM. Apparently, they schedule multiple assignments within the same timeframe and it's at the technician's discretion to choose which to go to first, usually one that is closest to them. The assignments are not scheduled within the same area so, the technician could be 1.5 hours away travel time. I can't believe RING recommended them, I'm filing a complaint against both. The disrespect for my time as a customer it what gets me, as if there aren't other companies with competitive rates to perform the same services. I canceled my appointment and membership as a PLUS Member. There's no way, I'd continually invest in a business that shows up to perform the service whenever they feel like it. read more

The service people they sent to my house to install and update the RING security system left by the former owner were nice people who were not professionally trained. However one of the 5 people I had come to my home lied about the availability of the RING doorbell I had ordered saying that one was not available and instead bringing out a more expensive one. The worse service bar none. At the time of installation (that was faulty) I purchased a service contract for a year. When the alarm didn't work properly I called for service and was told that sending a tech will cost me and that the contract only covers assistance on the phone. When I asked for that assistance I was told it only covers software support while hardware issues require a tech visit which I have to pay for, i.e. I paid for a contract that is worthless and I still have a faulty installation. read more

On May 28, 2021, A tech arriving in a Dish company van and wearing a Dish uniform arrived to my parents home to install their Ring doorbell camera I had made the installation appointment on the OnTech site earlier in the month. At the time of installation the tag offered me the ring spotlight camera with insulation for $200. I agreed to the purchase and installation for $200. After the Ring spotlight camera was installed and after reconfirming the total amount to be $200 I paid the tech with my credit card. I asked the tag for a receipt and he said when will be emailed to me. As I walked away and looked at my email I noticed I was charged $283.53. I tried to go back outside my home to confront the tech and he was gone. I called OnTech immediately and after a conversation was told nothing could be done. On June 2, Reese saying he was a supervisor from OnTech called me. The number he called me from was linked to Dish. After a long conversation he stated he would refund the difference of what the tech told me and what I was charged. It has been 15 days and I haven't received no refund. I paid $50 OnTech for a consultation to install a ring alarm system (which they said they knew how to do). The tech came out was nice, but was not knowledgeable about Ring products. He quoted $150 for the installation. When I called to schedule the installation, I was told I would have to pay $300. I called Ontech twice to bring this to their attention, they said they would have a manager call me back, but they never did. I would definitely NOT recommend OnTech. This a great service, don't know why anyone would give them a bad wrap. Guy came, he was nice, spoke to my son in a really friendly manner and was really respectful, he made conversation and it felt like we had family friend over. We originally were gonna install a ring doorbell but the doorbell didn't have any electricity, so we have to reschedule that, but he spoke to us about getting nest cameras so we could have better safety. We decided to go with it, and oh we do not regret it. This guy made it easy and simple no hassle no problem, he made good conversation, we made jokes and he let my son help out on whatever he could, and now my kid is really inspired and has been running around the house saying he wants to be that type of field when he grows up. We were able to joke and speak while he got the work done, and he made this experience wayyy less awkward than it had to be. He showed us the ropes of everything that we needed, and even suggested google WIFI which gave us, AMAZING connectivity in our two story house. Honestly if I need to install any other smart devices I'm definitely going back to Ontech, I know I might not get the same guy, and I was a bit sketch at first, but this is a amazing service. I signed up for the Ontech membership and also am happy to have 5 years warranty on everything I've got. God bless this company. I searched google for a Nest Thermostat installer. This seemed the obvious choice. The online process for setting up the service was a little clunky, but I was able to figure it out. The day of the appointment it showed I had no upcoming service appointments. It did, however, show the order. I called just to make sure the tech was on their way. I was told the order was "flagged" and ultimately cancelled. I was given no reason. I was not able to speak with a supervisor. They offered me no solution. Terrible experience. read more

Very disappointed! I had an appointment scheduled for yesterday afternoon between 4 and 6 PM to have a Ring doorbell installed. Appointment was confirmed via email that morning. I called the company at 5:59 PM to inquire when the installer might be arriving. They checked further and found that the appointment had been moved - to between 9:30 and 10:45 PM!!! Who in their right mind is going to let a stranger into their home at that hour? Not to mention that there was NOT ONE NOTIFICATION that my appointment had been changed! I spoke with 3 individuals during the evening (Nicole, Desmond and Andrew) - all were sympathetic, but could do nothing to help. Andrew further indicated that the appointment showed the installer arriving between 9:45 and 10:45 PM - and since they are an hour behind me (Eastern Zone), that could've been close to midnight! I asked if he would be in favor of his mother answering the door and allowing a stranger into her home at midnight. They now have my credit card payment (which won't be credited back for 8-12 business days). What a scam operation! They indicate that they have a 95% favorable rating - not sure who could be pleased with this customer service. And all of these people that I reached on the phone are working from home, so it is impossible to speak with a supervisor. Don't book with these people! Be very careful!! An absolutely terrible company. Bought a new condo in May 2022 and hired this company to mount two TVs. The Tech came out in June and upsold me on having a Google Nest installed and assured all was compatible. Southern California weather is warm. Three days ago, it gets cold and I turn on heat but it does not work. I review my home inspection done one month prior to this Nest installation with photo showing a temperature of heat equally over 100 degrees, perfect working order. I called OnTech and they sent a very nice tech out. However, his direction from the company questioned my honesty and attempted to avoid any responsibility for their work. An individual named Kevin Potlock instructed the tech that they cannot 'assume anything with HVAC...." and then "...it has been four months ago, we have no way of knowing how it was prior, we have no idea if the heat did work after install or before." As I stated earlier in this review I have an inspection report from one month prior to Nest install showing a temp reading of over 100F when the heat was tested before buying my place. I would recommend not using anyone to install anything involving electric wiring considering they know very little about it. It was expensive setup but now the Thermostat that Ontech set and sold me is not connected and they are not helping me with this unless I want to pay an additional 130 for the service after paying nearly 500. I had a new outdoor antenna installed in February for $150.00. I wanted network channels instead of cable. I now can no longer get the channels from the Phx or Tucson areas. I called them to remedy the problem and was told I was out of warranty. They also would not come out at my expense. Also, their techs will try to up sell surround sound systems at $300.00. Also will try to sell a $99.00 yearly plan, which only covers over the phone dialog. Save your money and frustration and stay away from On Tech Services!!! read more

I called OnTech to come reinstall a full house system after removing it in the complete remodel performed. They came out and the tech said "sorry, we can only install new, we can't reinstall." That's fine, so he left not doing one thing. Then I got a bill for $129 for his services. I clearly asked for a reinstall when I called and set up the appointment. He was kind, on time, and was not able to provide any service. It's garbage that they would charge me for work not ordered or performed. The one Star is there only because I can't rate lower. Boy do I wish I had read these reviews before dealing with this company. I rarely write a bad review but I felt that this was really necessary. This company was recommended by MantleMount on their website as "professional" installers for the TV mounts so, naturally, I presumed they knew what they were doing. I signed up, paid and awaited my appointment. When the tech arrived (an hour before his window so i had to do some quick shifting in my schedule), he took one look at my spot for the install and said that he did not know it was a tile wall and did not have the correct drill . After some discussion, he said he would get the correct drill and come back the next day to do the install. When he did not show up as promised the next day, I called OnTech and the rep told me that my job had been cancelled and I was getting a refund. I told her that was completely different than what the tech (Javier) told me. The rep did some calling back and forth and finally told me that they would send someone else out as a "trouble shoot" and that I would not have to pay. I thanked her (her name is Paris and she was lovely) and awaited the new tech to come three days later. I left work early for this appointment, went home for the 2-4 window and got an e-mail saying they were running late. Ok, no problem. I was home anyway. Then that new tech (Henry) calls me and says that he is an hour away. I remind him that Paris was to put on the work order that we had a tile wall. He says that he does not have a tile drill but will bring some other type of drill. Then he calls back 15 minutes later to say that his office told him he cannot drill into tile and that he should not come to do the work, but as they have refunded the money, that's that. This was so unprofessional. If they could not do the one job that they were hired to do as so called "professional experts" then they should have told me from the start. Instead I wasted hours waiting, left work early and still have a mount that is not up on my wall. I am going to another company that sounds good and will get a good review if they are able to handle the problem that this incompetent company cannot handle. read more

I used OnTech to install a Nest doorbell a couple of years ago. The experience was a good one. But when the battery in my Nest thermostat would not charge the research I did pointed to replacing the thermostat's internal rechargeable battery. I figured I'd have OnTech come out and do it for me ($129.99 charge). The guy booking my appointment didn't seem to have a clue when I asked about things I could expect from the service. The morning of my appointment the thermostat was working again. The Technician arrived at my house within the given window. He said that my thermostat did not have a battery. After I convinced him that they did he said the problem was that the thermostat wasn't getting enough electric current and that could be corrected with installing a unit on the furnace that would send more current to the thermostat. That unit costs around $15 plus another $100 to install. When asked why he couldn't install the unit while he was here and save me $100 (he had only been there 10 to 15 minutes). He said today's visit (again $129.99 per hour) was for diagnostics only and I'd have to make another appointment, pay for the unit to go on my furnace and $100 to install it. I told the guy GOODBYE. The most valuable item in my life is time. If you value your time DO NOT CHOOSE ONTECH for anything. I purchased smart locks and installation services from Ontech. The technician installed the locks but was not knowledgeable about setting up the locks to support me as the owner and provide access to my tenants on the Nest compatible app. He had my tenant receiving notifications that I should be receiving. I called back to Ontech and after several transfers, I was provided an appointment to fix the problem. I specifically asked them to please send someone out who knows how to set the locks up on the app. My doorbell rings and it's the same guy who completed the installation the day before. For the next 3 hours, I was on the phone with Google trying to fix the issues, while the installer stood there. The purpose of me purchasing the locks and adding installation was because I'm not knowledgeable and would rather pay someone to handle this type of task for me. Hey, OnTech please train your installers on how to correctly connect the smart devices they install. Save yourself some time and choose another company for the job, OnTech ain't it!! read more

They simply didn't know what they were doing. Every time they came out there was an error with the installation they did or they couldn't install what they said they could. They did try to fix the issues they had created but it was a waste of time. Even though they're preferred vendors for certain smart locks, we ended up working with our local locksmith in the end and had a much better experience. read more
