The response I got from OnTrac is "we have it noted as delivered, reach out to the vendor we don't have it" So basically they could Care less that their driver scanned my package from their truck and never actually delivered it to the 3rd floor where i reside. THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. This facility had my package since the 11/17, yet no delivery attempt was made until "11/20". I put that date in quotation marks because that fake delivery was only updated after numerous call to Ontrac throughout the week. They used every excuse they could think of for 3 days in order to not deliver my package! Credit card fraud, wrong addresses, lack of scheduling, etc. When they finally did update my package to delivered I was home and waiting. They swore up and down in good faith that the driver hasd delivered my item. I even called the shipper (Nordstrom) to complain. So, how many negative things need to happen before this company closes its doors. Why do businesses like Best Buy still use them for shipments to their customers? If you are looking for a shipping vendor.... Run, don't walk, from OnTrac. Yelp should make a way to give negative, or zero, stars. Giving one star is way to much for this company. I purchased a Christmas gift for my son from Best Buy online. Since the item was not available in my area, Best Buy said that they would ship it to me. If I had known that the were going to use OnTrac as their shipper, I would have had them ship it to my local store and not my home. OnTrac said that the received my box on 12/11/20 and that it was showing at the local warehouse. I received a notice that I would be receiving it on December 11. Then on December 11, I received notice of "Shipment Delayed; Delivery Date Updated" and now it would be delivered on December 12. Then on December 12, I received notice of "Shipment Delayed; Delivery Date Updated" and now it would be delivered on December 14. Then on December 14, I received notice of "Shipment Delayed; Delivery Date Updated" and now it would be delivered on December 15. Today (December 15) at 10:00 am I placed a call to OnTrac's customer service. The only way to speak to someone was to act like I had a pickup need and then wait the 45 minutes on hold. The customer service agent said that my package was in the warehouse and would be delivered tomorrow. She noted in my account "so that the driver would know" to only place the package on my front door porch. I live in a condo complex so all I have is a front door porch and a garage that is 1 foot from the street. Today at 11:00 am, I receive an email that my package was delivered and was left at the "FD". I was assuming that meant front door. I was wrong. The package was never delivered there as my office window faces the front door porch and I would have seen, and had a conversation with, the delivery person. I looked at the garage door on the street and no package. What a bunch of lies. The agent stated that my package was still in the warehouse, and then 10 minutes after I got off of the phone with her, I get the delivery email. Yep. Lies. So now my son's Christmas present is lost. Yelp told me to have understanding during COVID. But this is kind of another obligatory bad review for this terrible shipping company that's always been terrible and likely will be for the foreseeable future. TL;DR: if you receive a shipping notification that has OnTrac as the carrier, CANCEL YOUR ORDER if possible. Ordered a Christmas tree last day of November. Received a delivery date of December 4, which was then moved to Dec. 5, 6, 7.... every day for about a week. It hadn't moved an inch from some package center 300 miles away from my house. I called the vendor, who gave my number to OnTrac. They called me after my second call to the vendor, and then asked me what I needed. If you're calling a customer because of a complaint through a vendor....... maybe have that information pulled up. The customer service agent said that an investigation had been started after my first complaint to the vendor but that it would be escalated because of this second call. Nice. Two days later, tracking number said it was delivered THE DAY BEFORE, AND had another update right after the delivered update that it was DELAYED? Obviously I had never received the package, nor was it stolen--we have a security camera for our front door/driveway, and it's a freakin' tree in a box. Hard to lose, I would've thought. Cool cool cool. So that phone call with customer service did nothing. So now I don't have my package, because they delivered it to God knows where (it was signed by "FD"--meaning they apparently just left it at a front door. All the negative reviews scared me. However, my tracking updates were accurate, and my package was delivered on the day they said it would be. My apartment has a keypad door before getting into the building and to the actual front door. Most of the time FedEx only delivers to the keypad door, leaving the package out in the open for anybody passing by to take. OnTrac went past the keypad and actually delivered to my front door, so you would need the code to be able to take the package. The package I got was very sealed up, and the sender did not have a company name on the return address. So it was hard to judge what's in the box. I'm guessing that helped my situation out, since it would be more tempting for delivery drivers to steal packages when they see Best Buy or Nordstrom at the top of the sender address. Hopefully I'll get future OnTrac packages delivered, but I would probably still stay away from them until they implement, at the very least, photo confirmation of delivery like Amazon does. This is the worst run company I've come across in a long time. I have filed 4, and counting, complaints on not delivering packages in front of the garage door since it's in a high traffic area. Somehow each week the delivery person seems to ignore simple instructions and continues to frustrate. I have already left one meal kit company due to OnTrac and it appears that I'll be leaving another one I started recently because they too use this incompetent company. If I could give them zero stars I would. A few months back a lazy delivery person dragged my box to my porch because it was heavy. Why don't they have handtrucks or dollys? This is the 4th (4th!) time OnTrac has failed to deliver a package while saying it's been delivered to the front door. We've lost packages from Sephora, Target, and Fashion Nova. It's so frustrating not getting packages in a timely manner. Luckily they're not items we need right away, but just imagine if you had been anticipating an order, like a gadget or a dress that you intend to use on the day of delivery or soon after, and yet be TROLLED and not receive it on that day. I hope it's not their employees taking packages or marking packages as delivered but they are still in the process of delivering them. How does that make the company accountable at all? I have set my expectations SO low for OnTrac that I actually expect for packages to be lost or delayed and to never really get to the front door when it says it's at the front door. You know how disappointing that is when you've worked hard to obtain what you bought online only to see your doormat and no package. Get your ish together please. Edit to this-we got tired of the Customer service line telling us they would look into it. I tracked down the address and Saturday 12/14 went to their office/warehouse There was a note on the door saying pickups were not being allowed at this time. Knocking on door and ringing the bell didn't do much, but we finally got someone to talk to us. The entire problem was because during Black Friday to Cyber Monday the limitation for their vendors to use them was turned off. Instead of being a specific amount and then the vendor being shut off, it was unlimited. They were overwhelmed with packages and were working 24/7 to catch up. They still get one star for not letting customer service say what the problem was and having lousy communication. I would have been more patient if I had understood. AVOID THIS DELIVERY COMPANY!!!!! I am so upset about this delivery service! We ordered a tank-less water heater from Home Depot on 12/6. The vendor shipped it from Ontario and it arrived in San Jose on 12/7. It was supposed to be delivered Monday 12/9. It is now Friday 12/13 and it has never even been put on a truck to be delivered. Everyday the update is listed as "Shipment Delayed-Delivery next business day" I have called and spoken with customer service several times (after being on hold for an hour each time) and they say they are emailing the warehouse or escalating the problem. I don't know why Best Buy uses Ontrac, but they do and here's my experience with them. Precursor to this package, in April, I had a Fashion Nova package being delivered. I received a text message that my package had been delivered, but when I checked outside it wasn't there. I went on to Ontracs tracking and saw that there was a picture. The picture showed that it was delivered at the wrong address. It was two doors down, luckily the picture showed the house number. Now on to this IPad I ordered from Best Buy. It was supposed to be delivered Friday 6/23. They came at 7:30pm and they said no one was home, when everyone was home. The package needed a signature so it was deemed undelivered. I received notification from Best Buy so o went onto Ontracs tracking and sent them an email inquiring about the next delivery date and also signed up text message updates. No response on Saturday or Sunday, tracking was still showing undeliverable. I checked Monday 6/26, same message undelivered. Best Buy tracing showed the same message. I gave them another day to contact me, because the website says to give them 48 hrs. On Tuesday 6/27 I check.. same message so I send my second email. 6/28 I check at 12pm still the same message "undeliverable". Tell me why at 2:19pm I receive an email that states my package was delivered as of Monday June 26th. I rush to the tracking page and now it's been updated to delivered two days ago at 11am. I was home all morning that day until 1:30pm. No one signed for the package and all the tracking states was that it was left at the front door. This time no picture was attached. How convenient. No signature. No picture. So I check my camera footage and I watched footage from 10:30 am until 1pm. NO DELIVERY was made except for my mailman at 12:23pm. Contacted Best Buy automatically. I'm sorry, but I've had wayyyy too many negative occurrences with OnTrac over the past couple of years. For a while they were doing better, but ONCE AGAIN, TWO packages in a ROW are missing from two different orders! 1. My order from Amazon said it was "delivered", and of course, it's no where to be found. Usually Amazon will have a note of where it was delivered, but of course, OnTrac left no such note with Amazon. I had another package arrive that same day from Amazon via UPS which was delivered straight to my front door with a bell ring. I was home ALL DAY, never heard a second ring. HMMM. 2. An order was supposed to be delivered on Jan. 15th, but the tracking said it was un-deliverable and would be delivered the next day. I'm guessing it was due to the rain that day, but who knows? It's been 6 DAYS and the status never changed, and no package. Might I also mention the janky-looking delivery truck I always see them driving recklessly outside my apartment with the broken windshield?? Never had a problem with Amazon until OnTrac. OnTrac is especially bad in San Jose for some reason. They usually mark my packages as delivered even though many times they are delivered DAYS late and sometimes never. Of my last 10 purchases with OnTrac I've had this happen 5 times. That's a 50% delivery rate. I've called for customer service sometimes and they have never helped. I ordered an item in a store that they did not have in stock, so they shipped the item to my house. The store representative did not correctly enter my address (the only thing that's not OnTrac's fault) as the shipping address. However, the address that was listed as the shipping address DOES NOT EXIST. Literally. It does NOT EXIST. I took it upon myself (since the "address" was near my actual address) to try and track down the package myself before contacting OnTrac, which is when I realized that the address is non-existent. I checked with the closest numerical neighbor to the non-existent address, the neighbor next to them and on the other side, and the three addresses directly across the street. Nobody had the package, saw the package, etc. I contacted OnTrac and informed them that the package was allegedly delivered, but that the address doesn't exist. The representative said she would have to check with the driver to get clarification. OnTrac notified me the next day that "...we apologize that you are unable to locate your package. Our records indicate that the driver was at the appropriate location at the time of delivery. Please contact your Vendor for further assistance with this issue." The driver was at WHAT LOCATION? IT DOESN'T EXIST!! I called again today to inform them that this answer is unacceptable and that I wanted to know where my package was and my "message" was relayed to the local route manager in Milpitas for a "team review." They'll allegedly "get back" to me. This is so incomprehensibly ridiculous. I wonder if my OnTrac driver wears a size 9 women's running shoe. Where is the accountability for this delivery, and it seems like hundred of other deliveries that go "delivered" and unaccounted for? How does a front door sign for a package? I've come to the conclusion that you shouldn't trust online review sites as all people that had a negative experience will undoubtedly show their displeasure but the truth isn't the same the other way. I should know this as a business owner and I let everyone else's experience on here form an opinion that just wasn't true. I had a package being delivered to an address I omitted the apartment number of. I didn't worry because North Face, where I made the purchase online, usually uses UPS or FedEx so I though, "easy, I'll just request delivery on a different day or request a change of address". That wasn't the case for OnTrac. So I go to their website to try to get more information on this and income across all of these reviews which makes me worry for my $500 package. These reviews convinced me that package was as goo as lost. Turns out it wasn't. On the same day the package was supposed to be delivered I was able to reach a customer service rep and had him cancel the delivery and told me to contact North Face about requesting a change of address as that was the only channel possible to do so. I presume they heard from North Face that same morning I sent the request and they were able to deliver it the same day it was originally supposed to get delivered which out a hitch. I'm not saying these negative reviews are not real people's experience with OnTrac but they probably represent only a small percentage of all experiences. No one is rushing to post a review when they have a good experience with OnTrac. Which is what propelled me post my positive experience. Thank you OnTrac and everyone working on the background!!!! Totally unreliable delivery service. A package was supposed to get delivered but was not. Instead of marking it as lost/stolen they marked it as delivered! With a camera on my front door I knew for certain this was not the case. After a phone call to OnTrac they told me the driver messed up and would deliver the package two days later. Two days pass by, and no package. Another phone call to OnTrac and they tell me the driver had returned to where he thought he had delivered the package and could not locate it. This information was never relayed to me despite the fact they had my phone number and email and had told me they would keep me updated as things changed. Called again and they told me they had no record of my previous conversation even though I'd talked with the pervious woman and explicitly asked if everything was recorded, which is was. All around terrible customer service and mid management of goods. I understand that mistakes can happen and things can go missing, but at least own up to your mistakes and try to make them right. The company who I bought the item from was very apologetic and even upgraded me to a more expensive item with overnight air shipment to make up for the loss. read more
