    Moussaka
    Joanna L.

After browsing the farmers market in Downtown Campbell, I decided to have lunch at Opa! On the weekends, the roads close off to cars and become pedestrian areas, making the ambiance a lot nicer. At 1pm on a Sunday, there were a 3-4 tables available outside and many available inside. We were seated right away. The server was very friendly! There's a special brunch menu on the weekends. We ordered the moussaka and Greek steak chilaquiles, which came with a side salad. The moussaka came out first -- I've never had this dish before, but it felt like a fancy lasagna (with vegetables instead of the dough). Despite the sauce drizzled on top, I felt that the dish didn't have too much flavor, and I personally wasn't the biggest fan. The chilaquiles came out second -- the portion was quite large. The dish was a unique taste on your traditional chilaquiles, but I felt the pita chips were a tad bit stale. Paired with the sour cream, avocado, cheese, and eggs, however, each bite was flavorful. Overall, Opa! is in a great environment (especially sitting on the patio area with the farmers market going on during the weekends). The food wasn't super aligned with my taste buds, but I nonetheless enjoyed my experience! I'd like to try the souvlaki next time, as the dish looked appetizing at the table next to me.

We were really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! They kindly split the bowl of lemon orzo soup into two bowls even though we had only asked for two spoons. The oven baked chicken was superb: clearly not reheated, it was moist and fresh inside with a crispy skin outside, on a large bed of shallots and leek spinach with lemon cream sauce and excellent mashed potatoes. A huge portion half chicken which we took home. My wife had the seafood pita with lots of tzatziki sauce, super fries, large and meaty and garlicky with a dusting of feta. We sat outside in the cold and they have large space heaters but it took awhile to warm up since it was in the shade. Bottom line: the food was really excellent and we will be back!

A staple for outdoor dining in downtown Campbell. With one of the larger and nicer patios of the DTC restaurants, Opa seems to always have a crowd. In the winter they have their firepit and heat lamps, while in the summer they have plenty of umbrellas and shade to go around. They have a pretty large menu with a wide variety of options for each category. Plenty of different protein options from chicken and lamb to beef and fish. Veggie options while less also seemed to be plentiful. The prices for some of the seafood dishes is on the higher side, while most veggie and meat options are pretty reasonable. My favorite of the dishes I've tried here has been the flatbread. While the ambiance at Opa is fantastic, the food is really just okay. The fries aren't super flavorful and could stand to be a little more crispy, and the meat and fish tend to be overcooked. There are definitely better options for Greek and Mediterranean food in the South Bay, but the al fresco atmosphere here is so good, it'll keep me coming back.

Maybe not as good as I remember after all LOL TLDR: got yelled at by a host or table busser, chicken so dry I didn't eat it, 2 out of 3 orders were incorrect, soda as flat as a piece of paper, back hurts from low wooden chair. This was my first time eating inside to which I quickly noticed the miserable low chairs they have indoors vs outdoors. You sink into them right as you sit down and the wooden bar is right behind your knees. Please do not come here if you're elderly or have back problems, you WILL be in pain! I went to swap my chair for a less saggy one, this lady with hot pink lipstick yelled at me "hey hey let me know next time you need to do that ok?!" Huh? What next time? Yelled at me as if I am a kid and yelled front of my family, another table. She tried to grab the chair from me? If I wasn't with my family, I would have chewed her out and left. My soda was flat, not even one bubble. My step mom and I both asked for rice pilaf and we got very greasy fries (take a look at photo). They DID give us each rice pilaf on the side, but for what? So I can put the rice on my greasy plate covered with fries I didn't ask for? The guy who brought us the rice pilaf was visibly irritated. Same sir, same. My chicken was incredibly dry despite all the grease and oil on my plate. Really confused on what happened tonight. Granted we did come a Saturday night and they were busy but I can't imagine their cooks could be this bad + service is even worse.

Food and decor are pretty consistent with the other locations I've tried. There's almost always tables available on weekends when I go, so that's a plus. Portions are hearty and flavors are good. Go in with a hungry stomach! Service was also attentive since they weren't busy. Chicken pita: big chunks of breast meat similar to a skewer, a bit hard to work through holding up the pita. Inevitably bits will fall out, kind of found it better to deconstruct and eat with knife and fork instead. Always like the well seasoned fries. Mahi mahi: sauce on top was a bit heavy with the mashed potatoes but overall just right Pasticio: when it came out it was already looking rich and heavy. We did end up packing up almost half to go. Good to share, but note this is more carb heavy dish.

FOOD I wanted to give the food more stars but for me the food was 3 stars it was just ok but maybe I don't like Greek cuisine as much as I thought? STAFF what made 4 stars was the staff for sure. Everyone was attentive and friendly and helped take our photos for our birthday girl. INSIDE was nicely decorated for the holidays and well maintained restaurant.

My friend and I were just taking a walk on a Thursday afternoon. There is street parking that is free but it unexpectedly got crowded. We were l fly to find parking right next to the restaurant. It is surrounded by other dining places and a bookstore. The environment was very pleasant. The service is really quick and the people there were joyous and humorous. I decided to get the falafel bites with plain fries and the fresh fries were tasty. The weather was perfect that day and I can imagine this would be a good environment to hang out with friends and get a good drink.

    Chicken Souvlaki

Came back here after a long time only to be disappointed again....i got the chicken souvlaki dish with rice. If I wanted to swap the rice for a salad it was $5 more which I think is a bit of a punishment for those who want to eat a little healthier. Additional $5 is a bit much...should just be a free swap in my opinion. The chicken kabob seemed like it was fried first and the maybe charred over fire....it was a bit greasy and had that outside crisp texture like it was pan fried versus grilled. I dunno. We also ordered a saganaki which is fried cheese and were super disappointed in it. Not sure what cheese they used it seemed like mozzarella. They brought it table side and lit it on by pouring some liquid on it...the cheese sweat and created a lot of water beneath and the cheese got a bit hard after not too long. It's usually made with halloumi cheese and I don't think this was it.

There is something about Opa that doesn't get me excited. The food and service never really go hand in hand. I came to this location last night with a group of friends. The restaurant was moderately busy but not busy busy. My group had seven people so a semi large group. There were also two other tables that also had a large group and other customers who sat outside. We didn't think service would be an issue as they seemed to have staff all around, but it was an issue. Our server was a younger guy, he was nice but I think he was still new on the scene as there can definitely be some adjustments on his service. He's still learning. We had to ask for several items, several times. And at times we wanted to order more items but it was hard to flag our server down and anyone really, it felt like as we looked over no one was paying attention. Since we were a large group we had a lot of dirty dishes. When appetizers are done all dishes should be cleared before the mains come. We had dirty dishes and our main dishes on the table. We had limited space and had to continually flag someone down to take the dirty dishes. This isn't good. The staff should be well trained to pay attention to these small details. Along with filling waters as they are needed. Overall I felt our drinks and food came out at a decent time. We first had our drinks appetizers then our main. The food was good but I wasn't wowed. The only item I really loved was the Spanakopita (Spinach Pie Pastry) appetizer. I could eat a bunch of these! The service here needs a alot of work! Will I come back? Probably not for a while.

05-18-24 Very nice place located on the busy downtown Campbell strip. The outside seating seemed to be preferred by customers. It was a nice evening. The interior was nice. They opened enough windows and doors to kinda make you feel you are outside also but under the cover of a roof. The food was very good. Our server Nestor was great. No pressure on us first timers. We had. 1. Greek Nachos $17.00 we liked them. 2. Seafood Souvlaki $26.00 nicely done. 3. Kokinisto Me Manesta $48.00 was good and something to share because it's a lot. 4. Gyro Pita w/Firies $17.00 plain Jane but good. 5. Falafel Pita $16.00 is not no Falafel Drive Inn Falafel but ok. We would most likely return to this place to try other menu items. This place was fairly busy and was used open table to set reservations. Really didn't need it but just played it safe.

The details: I normally don't eat a lot of meat, so I chose the Falafel Salad. It came with extremely little lettuce, plus a few olives (which I don't eat), onions (which I also eat sparingly), tomatoes, cucumbers, and the falafel balls. Oh! And there was feta cheese, but those were such miniscule pieces, and so few, that I wouldn't have remembered it was supposed to be part of the salad, if I didn't just pull up a photo online with their ordering system. What you see in the photo online is not what you get. The photo actually looks like a salad. Since it was called a salad, I expected there to be more lettuce, than the few pieces on the plate. I mainly was cutting up the cucumber & tomato pieces to go with the falafels. I don't even recall any dressing. There were also some pita slices with what I assumed was hummus. Whatever the dip was, it did not taste good to me at all. So I left all of the pita bread, as well, since it was dry without anything on it. Maybe what I assumed was hummus was a dressing. Hard to know, but it was not tasty. For the $27 I paid at a walk up counter, I would have expected much better food! I have bought frozen falafels at Lunardis (around $7) and made a salad for them at home, and enjoyed it very much, which is why I ordered it. I have purchased Spanakopita at the store many times, (about $5 for around 12 of them at the store) and made them at home, which is why I didn't order that. The falafel salad was not an enjoyable meal for me at Yiassoo's. I'd also seen some reviews from a few years back that said they paid around $10 or $11 for their meal. That is more in-line price-wise with what you get, based upon my meal. With most of the meals around $20 for lunch, I feel they were very over-priced. I also asked my friend if she'd like to split a Baklava. They had a pistachio one & chocolate one. My friend wanted to try the chocolate one, so I bought that. I didn't think I was too into baklava, but thought it might be nice to try at this highly rated Greek restaurant. The main flavor that came through was the honey & nuts. The chocolate was just a tiny, narrow drizzle on top. I didn't hate it, but I would never order it again. My friend took one bite, and said she mainly tasted the honey, and would take it home for her husband. It may be very good baklava, but it was not to our tastes. My friend ordered the Gyro salad. It had a large pile of shaved meat, and she seemed to enjoy it. She ordered it To-Go, as she knew she'd be taking some of it home. She seemed to have more lettuce under her pile of meat than my meal got. Maybe because it was in a To-Go box, which might be larger than the plate? Or maybe the person making my salad just wasn't paying attention to how to make a decent meal. I was hoping I was trying a restaurant that I could go back to for something different. Based upon my experience, I would not go back, if I had a choice. I gave it 3 stars, because maybe other dishes, or people looking to just eat meat or falafel balls and not much else would enjoy it. I only have the 1 meal to review, but it does not encourage me to try it again. Overpriced & not a fulfilling meal.

"I didn't hear what he said, that's why I said to hang on." There was another older woman on expo floor who was extremely rude too. After telling her they gave my order to the wrong person, she looked at the other girl and said "you deal with it" and proceeded to ignore us. She also had the audacity to look at me and say "well we didn't do it on purpose." Again, NOT APOLOGETIC AT ALL nor did they take any accountability for their mistake. Neither of them apologized at all or offered to make things right. They completely ignored us and didn't care that they made a mistake. They had no idea what they were doing on expo. They were mixing up orders and getting confused when packing the containers of food. No matter how good the food may be, the extremely rude service and lack of attention to detail prevents me from ever returning here. If you ever order to go, whether it's in person/over the phone/online pick up, MAKE SURE you have the right order before you leave; if you don't get the right order, they won't care to make it right or acknowledge their mistake in the slightest.

Dinner was romantic, food was excellent, the wait staff took really good care of us. When I found Dio Deka I thought I had discovered a new restaurant, but I was surprised to find that the place was well established over 22 years. I noticed that the many tables were recognized by special occasions, which was thoughtful. Our table was in an intimate corner next the fireplace. The fireplace was not lit since it was a warm Spring day. That said, I could see our table being a highly requested one during colder days. Overall service was top notch. Food came out in a timely manner. I never felt that we had long gaps between dishes. Our waiter was awesome. Don't remember his name, but he was a young gentleman who was friendly, attentive, and helpful with food recommendations. One of the managers stopped by, and he also was very hospitable. I enjoyed everything I ate... They kicked us off with avocado pistachio jalapeno mousse amuses-bouches. We got spanikotiropita and the Horiatiki "Village Salad" to share. I liked that the spanikotiropitas were small bite sizes, and the phyllo dough was so crispy. Their horiatiki was what I expected in a classic Greek salad, but the fresh feta and crisp veggies made it a notch above the rest. It was addictive, and I could eat plates of it. We hit home runs with the entrees: moussaka and the lamb shank. I am a huge fan of moussaka and thought that Dio Deka's was delicious. I also liked how they built the moussaka layers in a cast iron dish, which kept the moussaka warm and gooey with every bite. The lamb was tender and fell off the bone, and it sat on perfectly cooked al dente pastina. I wish I had room for dessert, but we were treated with chocolate mousse mignardises.
