My boyfriend was the one who introduced me to Yiassoo, and the gyro sandwich is so filling and refreshing. The gyro sandwich has both beef and lamb in it. I recommend adding feta cheese for an even better taste! The white sauce and the spicy sauce are both very good. I drench my gyro sandwich in both of them. The spicy sauce isn't too spicy..it has just the right little kick to it. Their French fries are also very fresh and crunchy, and perfectly fried. A gyro sandwich with some French fries is the perfect meal for a refreshing lunch or dinner. On top of having great food, their service is also very good. You order from the board menu posted inside the restaurant. They give you a buzzer. When your food is ready you go and get it at the counter. Service is fast. Food is delicious - both the gyros and the chicken skewers. I thought the rice was a little bland. They do have sauces at the counter that you can add to enhance your food. I have been going to Yiassoo for decades! I usually get to go now a days using their online order system. It's a little confusing. You can order just a sandwich but I like the sandwich, salad and fries. I order the platter and select wrap and then pick my fries and salad. Food hasn't changed. It's still delicious. The meat, wrap & sauce are fresh and warmed. The fries are pretty good, crispy and browned. This is one of the best fast food gyros sandwiches & fries around. read more

Chicken plate 5/5 - this dish was really good! Looks very simple but flavors are good and chicken isn't too dry. I like the flavor of the rice. A bit salty but paired with the yogurt, it was good! I ordered the Super Gyro plate which came with a wrap stuffed with Gyro meat which was EXTREMELY flavorful. The portions here are really great - and I would DEFINITELY recommend one to check this place out. They have a small parking lot shared with a Chinese restaurant next door. If you go during lunch time, parking might be hard to find. What I love about this place is you can choose two sides with your entree. Your options are fries, greek salad, soup, and rice. I always op for rice and soup. Rice always go well with meats and I love avgolemono soup. If you haven't avgolemono soup, it's rice and chicken in a lemony egg broth. It might not sound appetizing, but it is. For my entree, I always order the gyro plate or salmon. The gyro plate is filling and I always request for the gyro meat to be extra crispy. If you're a fan of a salmon, order this! Yiassoo has been our go to spot for all our Greek food cravings. They are always so consistent in service, portions, and quality that we haven't been disappointed yet. We always order the gyro plate which is basically a deconstructed gyro sandwich. Yiassoo has been on my to do list for a while, but I don't drive down this part of De Anza often. It was worth the minor trek into Cupertino. I ordered the super gyro plate in sandwich form. That was a a metric ton of meat. I swapped out some of the meat with fries and those were some perfect bites of food. The fries were great by themselves too. The white sauce did a great job cutting through the heaviness of the meat. It was tangier than typical white sauce and somewhat reminded me of ranch (sorry, not to trying to be blasphemous here). The best plate or item on the menu here is the chicken souvlaki plate. The plate is fresh, tasty, and cooked really good. I love how the rice tastes with the marinated barbecued chicken, the crispy pita bread & tzatziki combined altogether. I want to give 6 Stars ( Quality Best). The Chicken Souvlaki is the Best Chicken I ever had. Chipotle is good but the Fries here are the Best too. The only thing I have to Criticize is everytime we come here, they dont give you No lettuce for the Plate. Maybe we should order Salad for Dad, but he likes the Rice so he gets the Plate. My Dad usually try either Lamb or Gyro. I think the Gyro is salty. Dad pays over 20 dollars for the Gyro Plate or Lamb but they still never give him lettuce. He does not like too much Cucumber. I ask the Cashier girl if I can get Chicken Plate this time for Dad. I ask her for Lettuce instead of Cucumber. She told me that she will add Lettuce but when we got the Plate, there was literally 4 pieces of Tiny Lettuce. Im not sure why they are so stingy with the lettuce. Maybe we were suppose to order a Full Salad because seem like they really hate to give people lettuce for the Plate. It does come with Rice ( real good) Tzaziki ( or real good Yogurt sauce) & Side Salad ( tomato cucumber) with Zero Lettuce. I rather go to YoshiNoya (teriyaki Chick) and get either their beef or Chicken or Salmon. At YoshiNoya, they are little more generous,, as it only cost 11 or 12.65 dollars for Teriyaki Chicken and even Salmon is only $ 15 dollars or $ 16 but there they give Tons of Rice or Tons of Veggie. But at Yiasso you pay $ 13 dollars for small Chicken Sandwich ( Pita taste good). And if you want salad or Rice you pay $ 17.95 or $ 18.95 if you ask for lettuce for Chicken Souvlaki Plate. It is the best chicken but $ 18.95 is kind of expensive ( because at Yoshinoya you only pay 13 or 14 at most for Larger Chicken and Salmon at Yoshi is only 16 dollars). So yeah, Yiasso tends to be a little stingy with the lettuce. My Dad usually pays 20 dollars or 23 ( I cant remember) for him to get the Gyro or Lamb but Gyro is super salty and they still probably wont give any lettuce or give 2 teaspooons of stingy lettuce so I rather go to Aqui where Dad can get a full salad. The Sad thing is Yiasso does have better food, just stingy with Lettuce is all. read more

NOTE: The protein is grilled much better at this location than the Campbell location. One of my all-time favorite restaurants. Well this is unfortunate. I used to come here a lot years ago because was good and I remember there was usually an older gentleman working who was always really friendly. Today the short lady working this afternoon was one of the most sour people I've dealt with. After greeting myself to the lady. I saw Half Chicken on the menu and "what is half chicken?" Because the plate looks less full in the photo I thought maybe it meant half a portion, I wouldn't have thought it was half a chicken based on the small chicken breast in the image. Her response to my question was to look at me like I was dumb, scoffed and responded with "it's half chicken..." so I asked what does that mean?Like portion or a half of an actual chicken and she pointed to the menu as if it was obvious while rolling her eyes. Then I asked what Chicken Souvlaki is because I was wondering if Souvlaki was a type of seasoning or whatever that meant and she explained it's skewer again as if I'm dumb for not knowing. Then after feeling awkward from her sassy attire I asked for a combo plate and listed two options because on the photo it shows 4 skewers but 2 of them look the exact same so I thought I was supposed to clarify two options between the 4 listed. She just could not handle my confusion and started to roll her eyes and scoff even more and rudely began to ask me about wanting to change the combo plate talking down to me shaking her head and rolling her eyes. It then appeared as the other worker was trainer this woman to cook the food which I definitely do not want to eat anything this woman makes. She also kept glaring at me in annoyance while they were making the food. When she passed my to go order bag she shoved it toward me and looked like she was ready to leave... I think she she leave the food industry honestly. Indoor and outdoor seating is nice and a convenient location but I don't plan to return anytime soon. The food doesn't taste as fresh as it used to. My meat wasn't that warm in the middle as if jt was reheated too quickly. Maybe it's the oil from the meat on my pita but the pita tasted weirdly wet and slightly stale. The yogurt sauce taste kinda bland compared to their Greek places and my rice seems over cooked as it's extremely soft. Tomatos in my salad also were really soft maybe from sitting out a while. Maybe this has new ownership as there are so few google reviews maybe a new business claimed it? If someone with such rude behavior is going to be making my food, I don't want anything to do with it. I am regular here (like weekly) and the food is always consistently good. It is a very nice casual dining place where I feel comfortable coming in sweats or shorts, and you can sit indoors or outdoors on the patio after ordering at the counter. Service is quick and friendly and the two owners have been there for years and are always smiling. My favorite offering is their chicken souvlaki plate which you can get with fries or rice, comes with a greek type salad and pita with tsatiki sauce, but I've also tried the falafels and the moussaka which I also enjoyed. The rice is great--I asked them how they make it the other day and I guess its a trade secret. Most recently I tried the Loukomades which I had never had before, they are these deep fried bits of dough with honey which are served hot and are really delicious--they give large portions so its best to share it with a friend. Came by for lunch the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking was plentiful in the private lot behind the restaurant. Dining was available both on the patio in front and side of the restaurant as well as indoors with the air conditioner. The interior of the restaurant was spotless, from the doors to the windows, to the patios. Started off with the gyro wrap and it was tasty. The pita bread was good and the cuts of meat were flavorful although a touch dry. The white sauce as other Yelpers mentioned is the key to making this more palatable. The topping of tomatoes was fresh. The French fries were decent hot out of the fryer and the Greek salad was a fresh and refreshing way to finish off lunch. ~$15/head after tax for lunch. I haven't been here since pre-covid, and was glad to find it is just as delicious as ever. We visited on a Monday afternoon, got the lamb sandwich and steak sandwich, and had a very satisfying meal. Both Yiassoo locations (Cupertino and Campbell) tend to be consistent with their products every time, quality ingredients, cooked well, fresh veggies, lots of flavor, and of course, the amazing house dressing (that special bottle of white sauce they keep at the counter). On our recent visit, the place was fairly empty, only 1-2 other guests, hardly a wait for our food, and just excellent service overall. Seating was plentiful both inside and in their outdoor patio. The restaurant setting is quite simple, but also very charming. This is a great spot for some good eats if looking for a place that's not too fancy but not too casual (though it's more on the casual side). The environment is certainly welcoming. I *really* liked the lamb burger and the gyro was good - but I'm very partial to lamb meat. The lamb burger here was memorably delicious - while the burgers at Eureka! and even The Counter were just competent but not memorably delicious (the burger at Marlowe SF is also good and also has lamb meat). Godfather burger in Belmont is decently juicy as well. The chicken and beef souvlaki were a little dry. Neat fast casual Greek place in the middle of Cupertino with heaping servings of fresh goodness. Like seriously, a 'plate' of food is ginormous. Excellent bang for your buck; just make sure to look for the white sauce/tzatziki so you don't end up with a somewhat drier meal like I did. Place seems quiet on the weekends, but with plenty of takeout. Definitely a nice spot for a workday lunch; Yiassoo has ample amounts of outdoor seating and a good sized parking lot. In retrospect, I think there was a bit of confusion about sauces with the cashier as my brother was told a white sauce bottle was "salad dressing", so we ended up with a less than optimal meal with just hot sauce and ketchup. That said the quality and quantity of food was still rather inspiring, but a slight learning curve with this place to get the best meal out of it. The menu is straightforward but some pointers. Plates seem to be adding more food upon the base thing (so for a gyro this adds a carb side and a salad). The "Super" adds more meat and feta. For most folks just the sandwich would be enough for a meal quantity wise, so be ready for leftovers! Super Gyro Plate - 4.5/5 It's massive, stuffed to the brim, and absolutely gorgeous. A smidge short on moistness due to insufficient sauce just by the sheer quantity of perfectly crispy gyro meat, but our misunderstandings don't take away from the execution of the base food (which is great). The plate part comes with choice of fries or rice, plus a salad. Fries were excellent, with a lovely caramelized aroma and skin on. Salad was crisp and refreshing with a fairly minimalist dressing of feta and olive oil. Lamb Burger Plate- 4/5 This is technically more of a taco, but semantics aside, pretty cleanly executed with a moderate amount of seasoning in the burger itself cooked to well done (without being too dry patty-wise). Ends up a little dry with the pita and patty overall though. Definitely needs a sauce and there isn't any on the burger by default, so definitely ask for sauce on the side.
