One of the best sushi spots in Jax, love being regulars here! Super friendly and attentive staff. Place is always clean and the set up is cozy and peaceful. Booths make dinners feel intimate and music is very calming. Menu is amazing, lots of options and appropriately priced. Rolls are so fresh and delicious. Love that their sushi is made proportionately and are the perfect bites; not just globs of rice made to be taken in 2-3 bites like other places - biggest sushi pet peeve! Here you taste all the ingredients you're expecting and everything is just great quality. Favorite rolls are Houston, Brown Dragon and Green Island! Their hibachi is also amazing. Steak and veggies are cooked to perfection. Never had a dry steak here. Veggies are brilliantly slightly undercooked so that it still has a good bite to it and not soggy. Fried rice is flavorful. The sauce is delicious, more on the saucy side, and not overly salty like other places. Overall just love this place.

The chicken katsu was my favorite dish. The portion size and flavor was delicious, and it wasn't dry compared to many other katsu dishes at other places. Sushi was good, it tasted very fresh especially with the lemon on my sushi special order. Ambiance and environment is really nice compared to other sushi restaurants nearby. Dark setting and booths available for dates or family dine-ins! Definitely recommend this restaurant for a good sushi sit down place!

If your looking for an excellent sushi restaurant in the Southside Blvd area of town this is it! This is a wonderful little jewel located in the strip of shops at corner of old baymeadows and southside blvd - out in front the Publix. The restaurant is small, very clean and well lit. The service was great, we were well taken care of, drinks and food was brought out at steady pace, and all requests for sauces and extra wasabi were delivered quickly. The food was fantastic! We ordered sushi, several special rolls, cooked veggies and noodles, shrimp tempura, everything was delicious! They also have bento boxes and authentic katsu donburi with egg on top, and offer several domestic and Japanese beers and sake. This is definitely my new favorite sushi restaurant in Jacksonville and I happily recommend this establishment to you.

We really enjoyed the sushi today . we decided to go in for lunch and yes they were open... ;-) We had the yellowtail, tuna and the eel very good , very delicious the edamame is not spicy it's only steamed which is unfortunate because we do love the spicy edamame. We also enjoyed some of their seaweed salad and their salmon rolls... For our first time here we really liked it.

Once again... superb sushi and service. Started with Miso Soup and Seaweed Salad. Followed with beautiful sushi that was delicious. I started with their lunch special of three rolls for $11.95. I chose Key West roll, Escolar roll, and Tuna Avocado roll. I added a special of the day True Love roll. Beautiful roll with lobster salad, shrimp tempura, fish eggs, and eel sauce on top. The inside was loaded too but I don't remember what it was. I do know it was delicious and then some. I always enjoy the presentations here as they are always creative and beautiful. The service is always top notch as well. I personally think this is a hidden sushi restaurant in the Baymeadows and Southside area. The ambiance is very inviting as well.

Stopped in a couple of weeks ago for lunch. The place wasn't that busy. I ordered the bento box. Food was decently priced and good. The service was good as well. Apparently they have amazing chicken Katsu which is what my co-worker ordered. For what I believe was $10 they received a big ole bowl. Might have to give that a try next time.

Unassuming little place in a shopping center. Very clean, nicely decorated and nice staff, but food was hit or miss. Sushi rolls were great - lots of fresh fish and quite large. However, the bento box was just so-so. Mostly fried items; tempura shrimp and veggies, some dumplings and I think banana(?). Bland flavor and a bit oily. The tuna roll was excellent, but chicken teriyaki was tough and pretty flavorless. Based on the reviews we must've just ordered wrong.

Open Sushi looks like a Chinese fast food joint from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The inside has a casual yet intimate ambiance. Cool decor! They're located next to Snowgenix in Deerwood Village Shopping Center. My wife and I ordered a plate of their Sweet Volcano roll for appetizers with clear soup for me and miso soup for wifey and bowls of salad with ginger dressing. We had the Chicken Katsu and Beef Shogamaki for our Mains with fried rice. The Beef Shogamaki reminds me of Bistec (one of my favorite Filipino beef dish). Flavorful! We ate everything. Very nice service all around. We purchased a $20 food certificate through the LocalFlavor app for $7.50. That's pretty much a free meal there. He mentioned wait times for tables, so I chose a Tuesday evening to try to avoid the crowds and it worked as I was immediately sat upon arriving. There are QR Menus on the table and my server directed me to view there. I spotted the Tokyo and was intrigued by the Ajitama Brûlée (signature torched seasoned soft boiled egg). What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! The popping bubbles were not my thing, but the flavor of the martini was delicious. I can see why many suggest trying it. This is my 1900th review on Yelp, and I couldn't pick a better place to review and RAVE about my experience. If you are in Jacksonville, RUN don't walk to this location for a stunning experience as it's a gorgeous location that is very cozy. Though I didn't wait, I definitely would to have a Tokyo Ramen again!

During our visit, a manager engaged in repeated personal interactions with my guest that felt outside the bounds of typical professional service. While I understand that friendliness is part of hospitality, the frequency and tone of these interactions became uncomfortable and detracted from the overall experience. After the visit, I brought this to the attention of the business directly in the hope that it would be acknowledged and addressed. Unfortunately, I did not receive a meaningful response or any indication that the concern was taken seriously. I'm sharing this here so others have a complete picture when deciding where to go, and so the business has another opportunity to reflect on how customer interactions are handled. With more attentive management and clearer boundaries for staff, this could be a much stronger experience.

The decor and vibe definitely give Asian street market -- I loved the neon signs. Thomas was our server and he was friendly, quick, and attentive throughout. We ordered the Twice Fried Korean Wings, Bonchon, and Chili Crisp Cucumbers to share. The wings were delicious with the best crunch, almost like candied chicken wings. My only complaint is I expected more heat from the gochujang. The Bonchon is essentially a flight of pickled sides: sweet pickled cucumbers, sweet pickled carrots and daikon (similar to what you'd find on a Vietnamese banh mi), and a well-fermented kimchi with mild heat and great flavor. We also ordered the Hong Kong Wonton Soup, and thought we ordered "Chow Fun" noodles -- but "Chow Faan" is actually their fried rice dish. Word of caution: if you want their take on Chow Fun noodles, order the "Beef Haw Fun" instead. The star of the show was the Hong Kong Wonton Soup -- the broth was authentically Asian, distinctly different from a classic French-style broth built on onion, celery, and carrot mirepoix. It was so good we ordered another one to go and took it to our mom to enjoy. We will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes.

They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.
