I've been a patient since 2006. I go back & forth with the District location depending on when I can get in with Dr Lavine. I absolutely love her. I'd follow her anywhere. She takes my eye health & family history just as serious as I do. She's 1000% genuine and will spend as much time with you as you need. That she humors my brand of crazy is a huge plus in my book. I scheduled an appointment with Optic Gallery and, at the time of booking, I let them know that I might be running a few minutes late due to a court hearing--I'm an attorney, and sometimes hearings run over. As I feared, my court appearance went long. I arrived just two minutes late to the appointment. Not ten. Not fifteen. Two. Despite having flagged the possibility of being late in advance, I was told the appointment had already been canceled after they had already called me telling me it was fine 3 minutes earlier. No attempt to accommodate. No grace period. No acknowledgment of the reason I had mentioned ahead of time. This wasn't a no-show, and it wasn't a surprise. It was a situation I communicated clearly when scheduling--and yet I was met with zero flexibility or courtesy. If you're someone who juggles real-life responsibilities--especially professional ones where exact timing isn't always within your control--this practice may not be for you. Their approach left me disappointed, disrespected, and wondering what kind of "care" they're actually offering. Will not use again. read more

Been seeing Dr. Tiffany Nguyen for years now and never had a bad experience. Her staff is great, specially Emily.

Again, Dr. Lavine and her amazing staff went above and beyond for us. I took my husband, and at a separate appointment his friend, both who are on walkers and suffer from dementia. Upon arrival, Ashton was so welcoming, on both visits. You immediately feel like you're a part of the family. And Liz, well, she went to the max to ensure both old guys were positioned properly for all diagnostics. As for Dr. Lavine, well, she can read her patients in an instant. She knows how to ask them questions so they can respond accurately. She's so kind, caring and she does not rush them... Just a really great, thorough exam for both. Then, Emily after for new glasses. Well, she's simply delightful. Her smile and warmth, again no rushing, was such a gift. We've had other Eye Docs and none can come close to Dr. Lavine and her amazing team. We're so very grateful. The entire visit went great the doctor was very informative and helpful. She was AMAZING with my 12 year old. My son felt comfortable and she made it to where he had a good understanding. She did not rush us out she was very thorough. Noel and Chelsea were helpful with check in and running tests. Aly was amazing and very knowledgeable with what would work best for my son. First pair of glasses she chose he said yes even though he didn't want glasses for a back up plan. This office has been very supportive and understanding. I've always been worried about my vision since my entire family wears glasses. I haven't needed them so either I'm lucky or adopted. I stopped by this location and was just amazed at how welcoming it is. Everyone says hi. Super friendly staff. One of the ladies working there, Remelyn was helpful in coordinating an eye exam and then a visit with the doctor. Each test was well explained. After my exam, I then had the pleasure to go through all the glasses to pick out a frame. My head is awkwardly shaped so everyone working was kind enough to help pick out a frame that matched my face. The whole process was a fun process and would definitely recommend going here if you're blind or in need of glasses! read more

If you have not booked your eye appointment here then you are missing out! I take my family every year to this location and get our eye exams done and upgrade to the newest fashions. They treat my family like celebrities and I can't explain how they literally remember all our names after a whole year goes by. Amazing!! The staff here set a standard for the entire industry and I really don't think anyone can beat their cheerful kind services. They also are very careful to explain all your charges and how insurance covers some of the costs. It's nothing to fear when you understand the process. While in ER Dr Nguyen talked with the ER dr making sure what was prescribed was correct. A morning visit to him helped clear out debris in my eye and assess the damage. Me being traumatized from a rude eye doctor before, I didn't want to step foot in a eye doctor's office ever again but they changed it all for me. Dr. Valdez is amazing! She has been my eye doctor for two years now! She is not only thorough, but is very empathetic towards her patients. She makes you feel heard and seen, which is not a quality possessed by all physicians! The staff are also wonderful! They do their very best to accommodate you! There was an incident, actually, when I rolled over my glasses which then caused the lenses to pop off and my frames to become bent! I've got mixed feelings about this place. My family and I have been going here for a little over 2 years now. The optometrist is nice and knowledgeable. The issues I have is the front desk and the "sales" people. The front desk is hit and miss on whether you're going to get someone moody or annoyed that you're there. One or two are good but one or two are a nightmare to talk to. After you meet with the optometrist they make you sit down with a rep to go over your prescription. Their glasses and contacts are expensive compared to most places, so if you tell them you want to shop around before you make a decision then be prepared to watch their eyes roll back in their head, their facial expressions change to annoyed and their commission breath kick in. It's very clear that they get paid commission and you're somehow the reason they aren't making a sale. There is a reason places like Costco don't pay their glasses reps commission. This is exactly one of them. Plus then they're not encouraged to upsell you into something you don't need. My family and I won't be back. read more

I called June 1 to make an appointment and gave my insurance information and was told that they took my insurance. I scheduled an appointment for June 10 as that was the soonest available. On June 8, 2 days before my appointment they called to inform me that they do not take my insurance. My eyes are very blurry and made the appointment because I need to be seen and to now have to wait 12 days for another appointment at another location is crazy to me. I now will have to wait 20 days from my initial phone call. I just hope they train their staff better in looking up insurance info when booking appointments so this doesn't happen again. read more

I came into Optic Gallery because my glasses kept sliding down my nose. They offer free adjustments here! Even if you're not a patient. I was immediately greeted and asked how I needed help. One of the opticians, Remelyn, offered to help fix my glasses. She answered all my questions and even made sure my glasses were free from fingerprints and smudges! She was very helpful and friendly! Friendly, Professional, Competent...what more can I say. I had an appointment at 3:40pm on a Friday and I was stuck in traffic. I called to let the staff know that I will be 5-10 minutes late. Staff mentioned that I may want to reschedule...I said I will make it! Well, I have to since I need the exam to get my annual supply of contact lens since I am out completely and the last thing I want is to wear my glasses (gives me a headache every time I put it on). So my the grace of god, I made it to the office right at the post 10 minute mark. Staff were very friendly and glad that I made it...Phew!! The Optometrist Assistant that took me through a series of test (Erika) was wonderful. She was patient and gave very clear instructions. As blind as I am, she was very professional and courteous, and put me at ease. Same goes for the awesome Dr. Nguyen. Took the time to explain and clarify any concerns I had. Then it was Remelyn that helped me with placing my contact lens, going through my itemized receipt, and explaining how I can get my rebate with CooperVisions. As I am a veteran at this, no need. Dr. Steve Nguyen is such a kind and patient doctor and spent about a month with me trying to find the right fit for contacts for me. Remelyn, Ali, and Karina are so nice and I love chatting with them. I love that we can pick up conversations so easily after not seeing each other after a year for my annual eye exams. Dr Nguyen checked my eyes...my thing was i work. really close to a computer screen and i did not want to wear readers and contacts at the same time...he figured out a way which fits my eye perfectly. I am very pleased. Besides contacts i also got glasses as well...needed to up date them. Mr. Adam helped me find glasses thats light, comfortable and a frame that wouldn't see to much of my thick lenses. Adam is very knowledgeable with the products as well as the insurance you have. Discussed into detail...a break down which I understood...loved that. Also, the estimated timeframe of glasses came in a lot earlier than expected. Office and exam rooms: Very Clean Staff: friendly and responsive Appointments: Good Auto response (text/email): great Glasses: varies on the brand name/ style...somewhat limited but if you have the glasses information they'd be happy to check to see if they can bring it in. I've used Optic Gallery for about 8 years. I'm quite fond of my optometrist, Dr. Nguyen who is knowledgeable and always writes perfect prescriptions. I've also purchased my completed glasses here. Until this year I never had a single problem. After completing my eye exam in March 2023, I ordered three sets of glasses: distance, reading, and sunglasses. Their prices are on the high side, but the frames are above average in appearance. Things quickly went south with the reading glasses. I had unknowingly purchased a frame that, to put it mildly, was so poorly manufactured that it lasted two months. Out of nowhere, the frame spontaneously split and regurgitated a lens. And it happened again and again. Over a period of 8 months, I was given three replacement frames, and each one broke the same way. This breakdown left me using an old pair of glasses with an outdated prescription that gave me headaches. Since the last (3rd) time the glass frames ruptured four weeks ago, its replacement has not arrived. Fed up with this ridiculous situation and seeking some sort of fair compensation I paid a visit to the store. Things did not go well. At first, I spoke to very pleasant optician, and we settled on me agreeing to purchase a different pair of glasses with the money for the constantly breaking set applied to the cost. The optician then discussed this solution by phone with the office manager--who vetoed it, for reasons best described as wanting to compensate me as meagerly as possible without incurring any inconvenience or cost on her part. IMO, that was unbelievably inconsiderate. I was told the best they could do was give me an extra 20% discount (a base 20% discount is normal for me) for a new pair with a different frame. As a long-term customer, I was not happy (more accurately, pissed off). However, I agreed to take the offer because: (1) It would cost more and take more time if I went shopping elsewhere and waited for the glasses to be made; (2) The cost is not enough to justify going to small claims court with a defective product case. Hopefully I will soon wind up with one solid pair of reading glasses and one pair of badly manufactured glasses with a two-month life expectancy (if I ever receive it), at a cost of $150 - $200 more than I should have paid. Not surprisingly, after I receive those glasses, I have no plans to return to Optic Gallery. Their customer service policy is as shoddy as some of the frames they sell. Unfortunately, this means no longer seeing Dr. Nguyen. The upshot: be careful what you buy from this place. Don't buy anything offered as a "special," which in my case was pseudonymous for junk. If you buy a defective product, chances are you're stuck with it--and the endless defective replacements--unless you are determined (or angry) enough to file a small claims suit for a few hundred dollars. read more

I'm not one to write scathing reviews but this optometry office is the worst with follow up and accommodation. They had to schedule numerous contact lens fitting appointments just to get my prescription right. I understand my prescription is high, but other optometrists I've gone to were able to get my prescription correct during my first exam. I've worn contacts for 15 years and I've never had this happen to me. It's unfathomable to me as to why I need to do several lens fittings and why it takes over a month to get my contacts!!! They need to manage expectations for the client. Stop overpromising and under delivering. Will never come back read more

We just bought my daughter's glasses Dec 2018. The side arm broke, it basically slid out of the arm. It was late and they were closed so my husband put a tiny dab of glue to hold it in place so she could go to school the next since they weren't open before it started. We came in to get it repaired and were told that because of the glue it voided our warranty. Excuse me? No one told me something like that would void the warranty. Had I known, we OBVIOUSLY wouldn't have done that. The glasses are only 4mns old. The only thing this lady could tell me was I could get a BRAND NEW pair of glasses and use the "old" ones as a spare. Um, are you kidding me? Their broken, how can they be used as spare?????? Lenscrafters has always fixed my kids glasses and my own. I've used super glue to hold them together and they still fixed it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place. But if you do go here, know that if you need to jury rig your glasses it will VOID your warranty. I will be taking my family elsewhere. read more
