We had three pieces of furniture damaged when they came to install our carpet. My night stand ended up with a huge scratch. My dresser had a scratch as well and my daughter's dress had a chunk of wood missing from it. When I contacted Andy he came out the next business day and looked at it and said he was going to contact his furniture repair guy. It had taken over a week to hear back from Andy. The carpet looks fine. We also had no problem when they did our hardwood install but there was not furniture to move. But really? Three pieces of furniture and our master bedroom furniture was pretty new. In the end they sent a furniture repair guy out. It looks okay but I can still tell where the damage was done.

The staff here are friendly, honest, and responsible. Yes maybe you'll save a bit at Home Depot or other big box places, but I think the little extra was worth it. Flooring in your house is an investment. You want something you'll like, but also it can enhance what you have at selling time. My last flooring from them, was bought and installed in a week. This was great, as my sons asthma wasn't helped by carpets. I look forward to the day that carpets no longer exist, as wood flooring is easier to maintain. Also it looks better. They have a lot of options. To their credit they have a lot of expertise, so I hope you'll at least give them a chance.

GPI came to install new flooring in my townhome, 3 bidders came by, and they were the cheapest by…read morefar and thus were chosen for this project. What ensued over the next 3-4 weeks made me regret the decision and have almost 0 confidence in the management company who chose them. Please keep in mind GPI stated that this would take no more than 3 days to complete, had they been honest about the job taking 5 days to complete (like the other 2 bidders stated) they would have not been chosen. One day one Giovanni's assistant came and asked if "we can install the new floor on the old one." The floor is bubbling, and damaged...does installing a new floor on top of this sound like a good idea? They began working throughout the day using special machines to remove the engineered hardwood from the foundation. Towards the middle of the week, I realized these were causing large gashes in the cement foundation, they assured me this would be filled in. At the end of the week, I came by to check everything out, it had already been 4 days at this point, and they had just started filling in the gashes with cement, I came back half-way through the day after work and noticed they began laying the floor on top of the wet cement. Around 5pm I came back again, and everything was installed. I called them and they assured me the job was completed. There was no paperwork for me to look at, not even a note telling me they were finished. I did a quick walkthrough and noticed several issues. A significant amount of damage to my door frames, unpainted shoe molding, a large streak of paint on my kitchen counter, wet cement splattered on my bathroom floor, and a quarter sized chunk of drywall missing on the kitchen wall. I called them, they were closed as it was after 5pm. I sent out an email immediately and included pictures. Keep in mind they stated they had completed the project...I guess no one did a walk through to check. Pretty standard in most lines of work. They came back about a week later to make some "fixes," and were there for roughly 2 hours. When they left, they didn't say they were done, and there was no walkthrough done. The bathroom door frame was poorly refinished. The coat closet door frame was not refinished properly, the gash towards the bottom of the frame was simply peeled, leaving exposed rough wood, and was not painted over, or sanded. The bottom of the frame still has a chip taken from the wood. The shoe molding has been poorly installed with the ends not cut to an angle and sticking out by the door frames. When I talked to GPI about this I was told, "We would have to rip them out, and put in a new bid." One coat of paint was used to cover the unpainted areas, the paint does not match the rest of the molding because of this, and there is now paint on the floor. I sent an email to GPI and the property management company and got a response about a week later. GPI came back to do a walkthrough with the property management company and was full of excuses from the beginning. He blamed the machines they used to remove the flooring for the gashes in the door frames. When I asked why they didn't do it manually to reduce damage he was quiet. When I told him about the cement, he told me that cement splatters; I asked why they didn't clean it initially and he was silent. After that day GPI and I scheduled yet another day for them to come out and fix their errors. They came back, the third time in 3 weeks, and did a decent job on the frames, oh wait they got paint on the floor, why...they didn't use any drop clothes to prevent this. This is something else that could have been noticed had someone done a walkthrough. Please do not use them, I am still considering having a professional look over the flooring to ensure it was done correctly, if they made so many obvious errors, who knows what the foundation looks like. Note: This was paid for through my condo fees due to flooding.

The installers did not remove the old carpet padding, despite it saying to do so in the contract. We did not find out until later when we needed to pull up a corner of the carpet. Was baffled that they literally cut corners. They also didn't tell us that the subfloors needed repairing and did a crappy job of patching it with scrap wood. I'm particularly baffled that the owner won't even talk to us. He obviously knows that they do shoddy work. Terrible service, terrible installation, terrible resolution, terrible company.

We were uncertain whether the existing flooring was solid hard wood, engineered hard wood, or even luxury vinyl and had questions about the floor's composition and care and refinishing. He accompanied us to the property, examined everything with care, and answered all our questions with great patience. He is obviously very experienced and knowledgeable in flooring and we will certainly hire him for future work in the event that we replace or refinish the flooring.

A year ago the chain on my Sears door opener snapped, so I called Sears thinking: who better to deal with this situation than the folks whose name appears on the device, right? Yeah, well, even though in years past Sears had come through for me on service calls for other units, this time they didn't. The tech that arrived informed me that he didn't have the correct size chain in his truck, and that the rail on my unit was shorter than the newest models. His suggestion? Upgrade the ENTIRE unit at a cost of $500+!! No way! A new chain and rail seemed similarly cost prohibitive. So, we agreed that he would sell me and install the longer chain and let's see how that worked. Turns out that it worked "okay" for over a year (the chain drooped awkwardly and clanged against my outer door when opening and closing though which was annoying) up until last week when the door wouldn't close properly, and it started to open/close sporadically. Not good for early morning winter departures! Rather than call Sears this time, my instincts told me to call Capital Garage Door. Great decision!! Sean arrived @ noon on Monday to assess the situation. Told me the chain was the problem. Told me a new chain and rail would cost me $265 and could be installed the next morning. His colleague "Talia" at their office called to confirm the order later that afternoon and sure enough that next morning @ 10a one of their techs installed a new chain + rail in under an hour and I'm in terrific shape once more! I SHOULD have called Capital Garage Door LAST YEAR instead of Sears and saved myself that $180. No more SEARS for me. I'm sticking with Capital Garage Door! Update 1/14/17 Garage door spring broke yesterday. Sean was prepared to come fix it yesterday, but my schedule wouldn't allow. He arrived as promised today before 8a... replaced both springs, $385. (I was advised that replacing both was the prudent approach giving the other one would likely breach shortly too and to avoid a second service charge when it did)

He also said since my unit was made in 2005, I would have to buy a new unit. It had to be Liftmaster and it would cost between $600 and $800. I said it was not in my budget that I would have to save up for it. I am angry because if I had the money I would have paid for something that I did not need. I decided to do some troubleshooting on my own when my friend assured me that the circuit was not fried. If it was fried, the motor would not work at all. It attempts to work and then gave 10 blinks. I got on youtube.com and I was able to determine the problem in less than 30 minutes, and I'me not even a garage door technician. The wiring that was connected to one of the sensors was loose, and the one connected to the motor was also loose. Eagle locksmith and Garage door came to the rescue. I only had to pay $75. I'm not sure if this is company policy to rip off hardworking people or Sean is just too lazy to make repairs. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!! If I had not been assured by someone that the circuits were not fried, I would have given them great reviews for doing a good job, not knowing that the job was not necessary!
