Dr. Odegard has been my dentist for over 12 years- when I lived nearby in Renton, when I lived in Seattle, and even now that I live in Everett. Dr. Odegard and Dr. Amin are wonderful. Let's just start by saying this: I hate the dentist. My anxiety is through the roof even thinking about it. This place though....this place made me feel so at ease. I never, EVER, thought I'd say that about a dentist. Very small, open office. Seems pretty new as well. Clean. When I first called as a new patient they asked if I had any fears involving the dentist, and I told them basically everything. They were very nice about it, very calming. All of the front desk ladies are very nice, especially Rachelle. Upon coming in, I was greeted with nothing but friendly smiles and words of encouragement for the day. That made me feel better. Kristen is the one who cleaned my teeth. She was amazing. I've never been so comfortable. She talked to me the entire time and just kept my mind off things. I had been having a horrible toothache (turns out I needed a root canal) and told her I was very nervous about the pain if she touched it. She was very gentle, and if I showed any sign of discomfort, she moved to a different tooth and gave it a break. I didn't get to see Dr. Odegard for some reason (I thought my apt was with him...), but I saw Dr. Cho (sp??). He was very nice, gentle, and very helpful in explaining my options for the root canal. I will 100% be back for any cleanings I ever have again. The only reason I didn't do my root canal procedure is that we made arrangements with someone who specializes in that area, since I'm so nervous we decided that would be better. This Dr is a liar and a cheat. They bate and switched me into a more expensive treatment before they new if my insurance would pay. They indicated that most of the time insurance pays this kind of charge but when my insurance company refused to pay Dr Liar said "Oh well sometimes they don't pay and you still owe the bill." I originally came to Dr Odegard earlier this year to have him fix the bonding on my front tooth that had a tiny little chip. (My front teeth have had bonding to close a gap since I was a pre-teen) He and his assistant Crystal not only fixed that chip - he's such a perfectionist with his cosmetic work that he spent quite a bit of time really making sure that the shape of the corners of my two front teeth "fit" my face. I left his office with way better looking front teeth, not just a repaired chip. Huge confidence boost. He's not just a dentist - he's an artist and someone who really cares about his work and his patients. At that time - I decided to switch to him for my cleanings too even though he's further away from my house and work than lots of other dentists. I just got done with my second cleaning since I began coming to Dr Odegard's office. Becca ("my" hygienist) is so gentle and has such a calm energy about her, I'm telling you, I've never felt more relaxed and at ease in a dental chair. Outstanding dentist, however his receptionist and procedural coder are unskilled or they simply don't care, and have sharp tongs; they are costing a remarkable dentist client. I won't be going back, It was so embarrassing to sit there and listen to them talk about clients in such a shameful way. After the dental work was done, and done well the coder failed to code the work correctly, I called my insurance company and they instructed me to call the dentist and ask them to resubmit the payment or to call them and get the correct codes. The front desk told me that I was trying to force them to commit fraud!!! So sad that a good dentist hired such "mean girls". Stupid is as stupid does. (sigh) read more

All I can tell you is, I went to Dr. Odegard to get an consultation and estimate on a dental implant. I didn't get much info from him and didn't get a good vibe from him. I was then pressured and urged to get an X-ray on their "special" state of the art machine so they can have a better idea of what needs to be done. I ended up having to pay $325 out of pocket because the insurance doesn't pay for this. His prices was a bit high so I went to another dentist,, Dr. Chang of East Valley Family Dentistry, for a 2nd opinion. I got the same X-ray done on the same machine at Dr. Chang for FREE! Just imagine my surprise, anger, feeling like a fool (I've been SUCKERED!) when I asked if I have to pay for the X-ray and Dr. Chang say no as this is just for them to be able to get a better idea on what I need. Not only that, Dr. Chang's price were CONSIDERABLY LESS...$1,000 to be exact, $2,500 vs. $3,500; not including the $325 x-ray I was suckered into. Yes, I was hesitant and scared that "you get what you paid for". However, after Dr. Chang explained in details the procedure and everything that involved, I figured the $1,000 was worth the risk. Thank God went for it because that Chang did an AWESOME job! he was very knowledgeable and helpful and patience in explaining things to me, which Dr. Odegard did not. On top of that, I did NOT get a "good feeling" with his staff. I walked in and they were talking bad about another patient with each other. I guess that should have clued me in. After I decided to not use Dr. Odegard, I had to call them a couple time and they weren't very nice! Oh...later on....I found out one of my sister had a crown done with Dr. Odegard that pains her for weeks afterward. It was so painful that she was unable to eat for a week or two...only able to slurp soups! She went back and Dr. Odegard decided that she needed a root canal. She said she had the WORST service from both staff and Dr. Odegard! They weren't helpful and didn't care too much for the pain she was in...not only physically but financially because these two procedures cost her thousands of out-of-pocket money! This is the best dentistry I've ever been a patient of. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist and in fact most of my life I have dreaded it. My friend referred me to Dr. O's office and from day one I have felt very welcome here. I bring my baby with me when I get my teeth cleaned and the girls at the front desk (particularly Jessica) keep him entertained while I'm getting worked on. Both of the hygienists that I have seen (Becca and Kristen) are very friendly, gentle and thorough. Both of the dentists are very warm and friendly people as well as helpful. I have been going here for years! I hated going to the dentist until I found Dr. Odegard. Every single person I have met there is so great. I will go in and get my teeth cleaned and at the same time have my 10 year old son and 4 year old daughter have there teeth cleaned. I absolutely love this dental office!!! I went in with a train wreck of a mouth and a nasty infection because all my previous dental experiences elsewhere had been awful and kept me from seeking help until serious pain was setting in. But Dr Odegard's entire staff made me never fear the dentist again. They did everything possible to make me feel comfortable and at ease while they figured out how best to deal with my teeth. They took the time to explain what we were looking at for work needed, what needed to be prioritized and even worked with us to figure out the best way to do everything with our insurance and our budget. I couldn't ask for a better team of people, they are truly amazing. Now all my work is done, including 2 dental implants and my smile is perfect!! I love Dr Odegard and Dr Amin, the amazing ladies at the front desk, Betsy, Jessica, and Morgan, Crystal who has seen me through every single procedure I have had, Jessica who somehow understands me talking through impression trays in my mouth and Vikki who cleans my teeth so pearly white and is always teaching me better ways to take care of my mouth!!! No idea how Dr Odegard is because his front desk is just so nasty that neither she nor I would make an appointment for me after speaking to her. My teeth are crumbling, painful and need to come out. I was hoping to have them removed and go with denture implants. I was told they only save teeth and with as haughty a tone as I've ever heard she told me I should look for someone else because they wont help me. I told her I'd been to two other dentists who want to try to save teeth (though they don't concur on which they think are savable) and frankly I think they're stretching out my procedures for maximum insurance payments. She said, "Well I guess you'll have to find someone else. We save teeth." Great, I'm in pain, I can only eat on one side and now that side has a broken tooth (that was broken when I saw the last dentist too) but hey, Dr Odegard's office wont bother seeing me because they save teeth. I still have some sensity issue up until today after his partner, Dr. Cho, fixed 99% of his mistake (drilled too deep and too close to the nerve area while chatting and laughing with his assistant). Once in a lifetime a dentist like Dr. Odegard comes along and how lucky we are to have found him. Our family was referred to Dr. Odegard about ten years ago. I had previously had many negative dental experiences so was quite apprehensive about starting with someone new. From the moment I stepped thru the door the entire process was a huge "WOW" factor. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff is awesome, the cleanings are the best ever and the office itself is extremely high tech. Doctor O is the best dentist by far I have ever been to. I had serious issues and over a three year period he went above and beyond to correct my problems and bring my teeth back to normal. He is not your average dentist and is always there in times of crisis. Many times in emergency situations he would call from home and meet me at his office. I have never had any doctor or dentist that shows the type of dedication he shows. We moved to Phoenix 3 years ago and realized we would need someone local. After two attempts we realized this was an impossible task and we now fly from Phoenix to Seattle for all dental work. This week I returned with more major issues and he spent 8 hours restoring my mouth. One day later I have little pain and am so happy we made the choice we made. Dr. O is not just a wonderful dentist, he is a great person. He is very involved in his community and cares about each patient. He is sensitive and kind and is brilliant in his practice. Additionally he does it all including implants, root canals, extractions, bone grafts, whatever it takes to avoid a series of doctors which means spending a lot more money. I cannot recommend this amazing man highly enough! He will change your dental experience and you like us, will never want to leave this practice. read more

I had work done at Dr Odegard office about 2 years ago - I worked with Betsy and the svc tech for cleaning - upon the exam b/c it was the first visit everything went well and employees were helpful - I was told I needed to have scaling done but i insisted for the office to get Pre auths through the insur for the work so we would the insur would cover and no surprise - about a week later I get a call from Betsy advising work is approved when do you want to come in - I made the apt that week had scaling done- come to find out Dr Odegard and his employees never rcvd a pre auth and they cant even show me the autho- and they are billing me over $700.00 - it is now 2 years and they have went other ways to collect - this office says they will work with you but actually will not but instead send you to collections - REALLY DR ODEGARD - $700.00 for scaling (cleaning) I told them I would pay my portion meaning the 20% but they are requesting full payment - so they sent me to collections - I would not use this dentist - thy are purely in it for the money and will not work with you b/c of incompentant people - I would suggest for anyone reading this to call Gentle Dental these guys are great - I have been going to them since this problem has risen and office un willing to work with me - Gentle Dental is located all around west of mountains - and here is their # (425) 793-5814 Renton location - to be more to the point - I like what Lisa W wrote 06/13/2014 - this is very true - maybe his receptionist and office people should go back to Pema for more education - Outstanding dentist, however his receptionist and procedural coder are unskilled or they simply don't care, and have sharp tongs; they are costing a remarkable dentist client. I have been with Dr. Odegard for over 10 years. He and his team has always been very friendly and very gentle when caring for my teeth. His team is always up to date with the newest technology and continues to give me the best care and advice of how to keep them healthy. He was the first dentist to really treat my teeth with the most gentle care and I did not like going to a dentist due to my childhood experience.
