I came in two days in a row, and both times the employees seemed like they didn't want to work. They didn't show any care for customers at all. Every time I asked a question, I got different answers, and many times they just said, "I don't know." Their solution to everything was, "Call customer service." Well then, what's the point of having employees in the store? I was seriously planning to switch to Optimum, but after this kind of treatment, I have to think twice. And it wasn't just me. The phone system never works and then they scam you by sending you to a representative and charge you five dollars for it while the jokes on them because I'm gonna be canceling their service. Optimum has completely gone downhill. I had their service from 2018-2025, with only a short disconnect due to home remodeling. I reconnected service on 01/31/2026 and immediately regretted it. My service worked for two hours--that's it. I've had ZERO service since. The technician who came out said he was new and couldn't fix the issue, and now I'm being told I have to wait 48 hours for "professionals" to come out. What kind of nonsense is that? The service is awful, and customer service is even worse--rude, nasty attitudes, and zero accountability. Already shopping for another provider. Avoid if you can. read more

I had a miserable experience today trying to cancel service. First, a 30 minute wait on the phone. Then with representative #1, I explain I'd like to cancel and hear a string of sales pitches trying to get me to stay. Finally, they transfer me to representative #2 and I wait on hold again. Another long string of sales pitches where they will not just do what I'm asking. Then I'm transfered to representative #3 to "complete the cancelation order." You guessed it, more sales pitches. They will not confirm the cancellation until you listen to endless promotions. This is how they treat you after paying (overpaying) them for years. Know what you're in for before signing up with this company. I still haven't received the email confirmation, so I'm hoping I will not have to call back and deal with this company ever again. read more

This review is long overdo. All of Optimum's policies and phone customer service gets one star. They were horrible and confused and deliberately slowed our efforts to switch to Fios. That being said, if you go to this location, talk to Jesus. He is awesome and professional and was so helpful. He got on the phone with Optimum's phone customer service to aid with their inability to help and eventually broke through to help us to get the information we needed to leave Optimum. We left Optimum, By the way, because our phone/cable/internet bill was raised to $240/month, which is crazy. Anyway, if Optimum phone customer service was run as well as Jesus' professionalism, intelligence empathy and effectiveness, we would have stayed, even with the stupidly high bill. I live in a 28 unit condo development. We have had terrible tv service for the last 6 weeks. I've had 4 techs here plus multiple phone calls daily about the issue. The problem is outside wiring. Is someone does fix the soon I'm going to cut the cord and go to streaming. I've been a customer for 46 years and I can't believe how awful the service is. My older cable boxes need to be replaced and would be no longer supported after the end of august 2024 so I dropped off 5 cable boxes here on 3-9-2024. (2 silver colored HD dvr boxes and 3 of the regular basic black color boxes. I asked for a receipt but then realized upon returning home and taking a thorough look at receipt the agent who collected my boxes only noted that I returned 4 boxes! Crystal is magic!! I upgraded from cable boxes to optimum.tv. When I originally made the change, I couldn't log into my optimum tv app. It kept telling me to go to optimum app instead. An hour on the phone with customer support and 4 transfers to techs -- nobody could figure it out. I went to the store and Crystal figured it out right away!! She said I need a Gateway to activate the service at home. She upgraded my 10 year old modem and router to the Gateway, explained everything for setup, and it worked perfectly. After days of trying, Crystal worked it out. I feel very welcome at this store in general -- but this shout out is specifically for Crystal. read more

This isn't for optimum in Paramus but for optimum in general and if I could give negative stars I would ! I am sure there are thousands out there that have experience same treatment. I am an idiot for staying with them this long, 36 years! (that may change this week) my latest experience was clearly a bait and switch scam .. called to see how I can lower my bill .. after 45 minutes I was told my old "promo" had expired and that if I switch to fiber optics and switch my plan I will save $70 a month with promotions and keep all my channels !! I was thrilled and scheduled them to install fiber optics .. the tech came installed everything .. I go to check my favorite channels and guess what all gone ! He told me I would have to call .. anyone who has optimum knows calling is nothing less than a. nightmare ! After 2hrs and 15 min and being transferred 5 times I get a woman in retention who explains everything I did actually raised my bill!! I immediately told her to schedule removal of all services and equipment. She offered me 200$ credit but that was about the best she could do.. WTH I told her I'd rather pay Verizon more than deal with a company that advocates ripping off their customers ..! The most deplorable experience I have ever been through with any company ! I also believe they put you on infinity hold hoping youll give up and hang up! They need to be investigated.. read more

I changed my services to Optimum Fiber Optic, huge mistake. The technitian came to install it. He checked and everything he checked was working good. Later that day I start watching t.v. and the mute on the control instead of the volume going mute it changes the channels. I called to get technical control and they told me that the controls has that problem but they can't fix it right now but they are working on it. All along they knew there was a problem and are not telling the customers. Also, they are not telling the cuatomers that if you change to Fiber optic their policy is that you can't change back to your old service. Furthermore, their only options are that you can wait until they figure out how to fix it, go to one of their stores a see if they have another type of control or dela with it. Lastly, I asked to speak with a supervisor after dealing with 5 different people for 2 days and was told they were busy and can get a call back for the next day or within 3 days.
