One of the worst experiences I've had at a bar. I accidentally touched an orange that was sitting on the bar. As soon as I realized it might have been a mistake, I immediately apologized multiple times and took full responsibility. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the bartender and the security guard Brian became extremely aggressive and confrontational. Brian spoke to me in a disrespectful and insulting manner, and the entire situation escalated for no reason. Despite my repeated apologies and calm attitude, I was treated like a criminal and eventually removed from the venue over something that could have been resolved with a simple conversation. The issue was never the orange. The issue was how Brian and the bartender chose to treat a customer who was being respectful and apologetic. Their behavior seemed completely unprofessional, emotionally unstable, and far out of proportion to what actually happened. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone expecting basic respect from staff.

Definitely a great spot for some good music on the weekends, they usually have a DJ and a dance floor in the back. The front is nothing. That's special, the drinks are okay, but the service is pretty fast. This is definitely more of a spot to visit to dance later in the night than a place to start your night.

Friday date night went swell thanks to Bar Lubitsch! Two rooms with two completely different vibes. The front room upon entrance has your main bar and lots of seating. It's loud but you can enjoy a nice chat with someone if you're right next to them. Down the hallway to the back you have a stage setup for entertainment and that specific night there was live music. Dance floor was packed out, people were jammin. Not my type of music - I'm more of a hip hop head... but cool spot to meet people and mingle.

Came here on Sunday to see a burlesque show and had a wonderful time! Everyone was so sweet and they truly make some of the best drinks here! I am definitely obsessed with their coffee martini that I was thinking of it long afterwards. It's such a dreamy decadent drink and the bartenders do a great job of making it well balanced. I love the space both the front and the back comedy room and they do a great job with the seating so you can see the show no matter where you're at. The seating is so comfy. The vibe is great and I love all the decor and pictures. I can't wait to return again soon.

Ask the Community - Bar Lubitsch

Is there a wine list?

Yes.

Do they have djs every Friday?

Yes.

Is the cocktail menu all made with vodka or are there other options (e.g., gin, rum, whisky, tequila, etc.)?

Do you require a Vax card to enter?

Not anymore, at least not in August 2024.

Do they serve beer on draft or in bottle? If so what do they offer?

Everything is bottles and cans. Stella, Peroni, Guinness, Old Rasputin, Bavik, Pacifico, Delirium, Lagunitas IPA, Boomtown Limelight, Scrimshaw, Fort Point KSA and Excalibur Hard Cider are the current selections.

Is there dancing on a Thursday night?

YES, we do have dancing on Thursday nights! We start off with a DJ in the front room around 9pm, while there is a free comedy show in the back room, from ~8-11pm. After the comedy show, the backroom will also be open for dancing.…

Hi, what is the usual age group attending?

Thanks for your question. In general, our customers are roughly 21-40 yrs old. It all depends on…

Hello! Do you need a reservation to get in during a weekend?

Hi Guillermo, reservations are free, you just need to call (323.654.1234) or email (party@barlubitsch.com) and we can take care of you. We hold tables until 11pm, if you arrive after that we will get you in the VIP line for a quicker entry. You may…

Is there dancing and a DJ tonight on Monday?

Hi Brittani! We have DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, come check us out! Let m know if you have any other questions, see you soon

How much do you pay for the entrance? And if I reserved a table my guests still have to pay for entrance correct?

No entrance fee ever.

What's the dress code?

Hi Yajaira! Business casual would be the standard dress, though plenty of our guests come dressed to the nines. We recommend no sandals as the dance floor gets pretty busy, we wouldn't want anything to happen to your toes!

What kind of music do they play?

Mainly Top 40 & Hip-Hop/R&B on Friday and Saturday nights. Great crowd as well! Definitely friendly vibes in the front room (bar area) and the back room (lounge and dance floor).

The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

Each drink comes in its own unique cup/glass and has such a fun presentation. The painkiller was presented to us with some fire elements and the captain's inner circle was hilarious - they ring a bell and all the workers join in on saying you're a part of the inner circle. Now the taste. Both of the drinks were delicious! We love a painkiller and this one definitely didn't disappoint, it totally hit the spot.
