    Army Navy Store
    Gina P.

I grew up coming to this store. Every weekend for what felt like my whole childhood up to my mid teens. My father loved coming in, we would spend hours and every weekend made purchases. I would get backpacks, purses, and clothes. Yes, every single weekend. It saddens me that during the start of what is known to be a busy weekend, the OC street fair, I, a paying customer, was denied the use of a "public" restroom in their shop. The person in charge, possibly owner, said "this is how we do it, at least our store." He then followed by you can use the "porta potty." I would hope their policy, or whatever they call this changes. If not, it's truly sad to see a business operating in this manner.

The Orange Army Navy surplus store on the Orange circle has been one of my regular monthly visits as well as a favorite of mine for over 30 years now. I used to visit the store ever since I was in High School and could drive over here!! It's just less than a week before Halloween '23 and I decided to roll through and see what is going on. The city of Orange was in the process of preparing for an evening event and had a few streets blocked off. I ended up coming in from Chapman Blvd and turned off on Schaffer by the Catholic school to drive in behind the store and park in the small lot in back away from the front of the store. Orange FD were there setting up their booths and Emergency Vehicles for the evening's festivities. I did happen to notice that the store was very well stocked for Fall with all the kinds of clothing and gear that you might want for the Winter. Solid selections on all the great brands, Dickies, Carhartt, Levi's, and others. Great selection of footwear from flip flops to service boots. They also are a great place to go and get your "emergency" stuff if you are interested in building up your personal kits. Tents, cooking gear, water storage, sleeping rolls, etc . The kinds of stuff that can make you comfortable in a shtf type scenario. They also have a nice selection of firearms, fishing gear, and knives. PLUS!! If you're a veteran or know someone that is, this store has the BEST selection of insignia and iconic military veteran patches and pins. Great gifts for the upcoming holidays season!! Enjoy the pictures and drop in to the store today!!

They sell so much more than old military items

This is a really unique Army-Navy store in the sense that they sell a lot of merchandise outside of old military items. For example when you walk in, you are immediately directed to the left where it's all civilian clothing. There is small section for women with everything from Rip Curl or surfer brand dresses and t-shirts to brand new Levis's. Then it's basically the same story for the mens clothing section and you wrap around into some old military clothing which is a pretty small selection considering, then they have a gun department where you can make those types of purchases and talk with a professional. The next room over is all brand new camping gear and anything else an outdoor enthusiast could want. Prices are fair and it's better to shop local.

Wow , not the Army Navy I grew up going to .... I went in there first thing Sunday morning at 10am . Asked the brown hair gal if they had Dickies in my daughters size ( she was standing next to me ) this Moran doesn't even turn around and just gives some smart a$$ awnser ... we spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out sizes and abbreviations with zero help from any other staff there ... if I wasn't under a time crunch I would have spent my money somewhere else . Which way is Tillys ?

It is your typical open air outlet mall and there is plenty of parking. Columbia specializes in apparel designed for sports and adventure but more so geared towards adventures such as hiking, backpacking, running etc... They always have a sale of some sort for different items and i feel they offer great products at a competitive price making it a good value. The service is always friendly. I Love their Omni-heat jackets. I also love their T-Shirt prints and i used to buy all my tee shirts from them only. But unfortunately I stopped buying them because for some reason, they no longer use quality cotton Tees which hold up and wear a lot better than the ones that they use now. I feel that the ones they use now. The fabric is really thin. It wrinkles really easy and does not wear well at all. That's really disappointing for a big brand like Columbia. I have brought it up to the manager of more than one store but nothing has changed in the past 2-3 years since the change occurred. Thus the reason for taking 2 stars away. Please bring the quality cotton tees back and do not cut corners. I bet that your sales will increase.

I occasionally find some good deals but overall it's pretty limited unless if you go when they are having one of their special seasonal sales about twice a year. The women's side has a ton of jackets and gear up to 60-70% off list price. However the guy's stuff is sometimes only fleece, tshirts, and vests and not much else. Maybe gloves. It's worth a stop though if you're in the area. I even got some hiking poles here for like $25 and they're good, compared to $50+ from REI You can also return online orders here which is nice, but they don't really advertise it.

I wish I had been told prior to driving there about the condition of the tent. At first sight, the tent is very beat up at best. The top part has to be held by tie downs in order to hold with the bottom part. The latches don't work at the front. The top also had a huge dent and finally, the tent had a hole as seen in picture. I was told by Adam the tent was fully cleaned but we found trash inside. Some floss, gum wrapped in paper and some chapstick. This is a side business from his automotive main business so there was a long wait for the install and removal of the tent. It definitely served its purpose but definitely not worth the price.

Saturday: Visited for a bicycle tune-up consultation near Chapman College/Orange Circle area. Discussed needed services with friendly mechanic: rear cassette, chain, spoke repair, derailleur adjustment. Due to their busy day, agreed to return Tuesday for pricing/terms when me and the mechanic could speak more about terms. Tuesday: Kim (likely the owner) said the mechanic was at lunch (30+ mins). I left my bike; she promised he'd call upon returning. She called 30 minutes later but wouldn't connect us--just offered another callback. He never called. Wednesday: Another mechanic confirmed a $200 estimate but wouldn't commit to exact cost. Promised to call before repairs. No call came. Next day: Received voicemail saying bike was ready. Upon arrival, Kim rushed to retrieve it from the back. When I requested an itemized invoice before paying, she said "It will print out after you pay." After transaction: Bill was nearly $90 over estimate. They replaced brake pads without asking (they were fine), charged for a "SEVERE" alignment without permission or notification, and added $20 for "shop supplies and disposal." When challenged, Kim claimed the mechanic told me the cost and asked if he called (he didn't). She brought the mechanic over--he admitted fixing the spoke but denied charging for it. She almost threw the receipt back, saying "there you go." He also admitted that he had promised to call me before proceeding and didn't. The shop gave me a plastic bag with service trash, but notably the removed "bad" brake pads were missing from it.
