The garage door on my commercial unit is roughly the age of dinosaurs . As long as I have been here, it never quite opened all the way, it jammed up all the time and sounded similar to a dying animal. Chuck fixed that baby right up and now it glides smooth as butter without any dead animal noises or fighting .. Ok....This business is different than most of my other yelp reviews, simply because most of my reviews are Health, Restaurant, and Beauty related except one other that was plumbing related which could fall into this category...Garage Doors and Gate Installation. Fellow Yelpers I used to be the "Handy Girl" around the home. Due to being broadsided and having sustained a perminant spinal cord injury I can no longer do the things I used to do...I was the "Honey Do" and now, I am just lucky I am able to walk. Thankfully due to my amazing Neurosurgeon and PT that is rehabbing me. But as the Handy Girl I couldn't do everything even before my accident such as intercom work. I have had a history with Orange County Overhead for three years. Two times a work truck's hit an intercom and knocked it over Charlie at Orange County Overhead Door came out and worked his magic got it working and I was surprised at how low the fee was even though I was not paying for it, the companies that hit the intercom paid. Recently the garage door was having strange issues, this time the $$$ were on me. After my experience with Charlie and having trust I called Orange County Overhead knowing full well that Charlie would not be coming out because Charlie was the intercom/gate specialist. For this someone else would come out and this someone else was "Chuck" and all I can say is that he was just as ethical as Charlie and didn't mind me watching what he was doing (just like Charlie) he was kind, sweet and the price for the repair I DOUBT anyone could beat unless you could do it yourself, especially when your licensed, bonded and carry workman's comp. ins. He literally saved the day for me and made me laugh more than once. As a female it's not abnormal to be taken advantage of when it comes to repairs, but as a once "Honey Do" I have an idea of what is a fair price and what is not. After 6 1/2 years of use, the locking mechanism on our garage door broke. A technician came out and diagnosed the problem right away, and he came back the following day to install the ordered part. We had several pieces needing repair on the old garage door. I contacted a well-rated agency in Long Beach who declined the job, since it involved spring work, which she said could not be handled by a single technician. She did refer me to Orange County Overhead Door. So I called, set an appointment for two days out (at my convenience), and left my info. The tech, Dustin, phoned me the same afternoon and confirmed the appointment. On the work day, he phoned again on the way there to confirm. Dustin did replace the springs as requested and offered to replace a broken arm on the electric opener too. But the whole electric opener was about 30 years old and had multiple shortcomings. Even if we were to replace the arm, the system would not be very safe to operate. So we had Dustin install a new opener system on the spot. It took only about an hour, and considering the springs and all, he gave me a good price on doing "all on one visit." The new opener works like a champ and the remotes are WAY better than the one we had from 1986. Dustin took my billing address and went on his way. Great attitude. read more

Chuck is fantastic! The company I work for was initially quoted more than $600 for basic repairs, maintenance, etc. by another overhead door company. We called Chuck out for a second opinion and his quote was half the price of the other guy's. Once we approved the quote, Chuck was back a couple days later to perform the work - he arrived on time, finished quickly, was extremely professional and friendly, and he even charged us less than what he originally quoted since he finished sooner than expected! Great company!!! I help with my mother in law's home in Orange County but I live in San Diego and was looking for a reputable company to help with maintenance of her garage door. I have called them several times to fix various little things and they have been prompt and reasonably priced. When we finally needed a new door we handled everything over the phone, I looked at doors online and picked one out. They installed it promptly and my mother in law is thrilled with the new door. We upgraded to an insulated door with windows and it is beautiful and really improves the look of the house. The insulation will be useful in the cold winter months and the hot summer. I will continue to use them for maintenance and highly recommend them. The only negative is that they don't take credit cards but they were very willing to pick up a check at my mother in law's house at her convenience. 5 stars from me! read more

Dishonest. My husband had called to have them come out & look at our garage because our remote wasn't working & we had no way to get into the garage. Jim came to our home & told me we would need a masterlock to a lock located 2/3 way up the door. Anyways, long story short, I have the non-functioning remote to Jim & after he told me that we needed the key & offered to break into it for me if I couldn't locate the key for an additional "break-in fee".. I asked him to give me a couple hours to try to locate whether or not we had a copy if the key.. He said he had another job right down the street & would check back with me. Well in the confusion of needing this key, I had let him go without getting the remote control for the garage back from him. & of course once I realized that he had left with the remote (& in the meantime I had a locksmith come re-key the lock on the garage) I tried calling/texting him to get the garage remote back & he denied that he had it. I still have not received the remote back & would not recommend this company. Now I will have to go pay to replace the remote & will def not be paying the service fee for someone to come to my home & leave with my hardware. read more

5 Stars is not nearly enough for the quality service we received from Chuck w/ Orange County Overhead Door Co. We had a commercial garage door installed at our house by a different contractor and had all kinds of problems. Chuck came out to take a look at the issues we were having and was able to make the necessary adjustments the same day. I kinda expected that we would be making an appointment for a week or so later, but not with Chuck. He quoted me a price for the services he would need to provide and then asked me if i wanted him to take care of it while he was here. I said sure and 2 hours later our door was working perfectly. A couple of weeks later my wife closed the door onto an obstruction that wasn't in the eye of the safety switches and racked the door pretty good. I called Chuck and he was out the very next day and took care of the problem without any charges. I wholeheartedly recommend Orange County Overhead Door Co. I truly cannot say enough good things about them. They have integrity and are hard working. In my opinion these guys are the best most thorough company i've met in a long time.
