Triple threat: Great trainers/staff, new/clean facilities and awesome workouts! I'm use to running outside and working out at home but lately I've found my motivation waning as my schedule gets busier so when I got the advertisement for OrangeTheory Fitness both at home and on my car windshield, they were able to roused my interest and stay excited for the grand-opening. OrangeTheory workouts are 45-60 minutes of high intensity interval training by mixing cardio and weights during each session. Everyday is a different workout but is the same for all classes during that day. Everyone is working out at their own pace and uses a heart rate monitors to help you push harder or slow down your pace. I've been to several classes with different trainers and at different times of the day. Each brings their own personality and experience to help motivate, energize and give advice/instruction during class (and after) whether you're in the 5 am or 8:30 pm session. After only 6 weeks, I've finally found my grove again and I've started mixing up my schedule between Orangetheory during the week and running outside too. I can't say enough positive things about OTF Bothell. I started here when they first opened and worked out consistently for about two years before encountering some health problems that prohibited me from continuing. Cancelling my membership was one of the hardest things I've done. As a "bigger" person who has never been particularly fit or felt they fit in at a gym, OTF was the perfect place for me. The staff were always kind and friendly, learned your name and said hello, made you feel welcome and part of the family. The coaches were full of energy and were always ok providing modifications for folks like me who maybe needed a lower-level way of doing an exercise. I never felt judged or like I couldn't do the workouts. Each workout is easily tailored to any fitness level - there were folks in classes who were athletes and others who were much more out of shape than me. We all benefited from the style of workout and got individual assistance to meet our needs. OTF has a snappy app that you book through and if you cancel within a certain period of time, you have to pay for your missed workout. Sounds like a pain, but ultimately, it was the accountability I needed to actually get to the gym. I love this gym and hope to return someday! PS: they made pausing and then cancelling my membership very simple. I was very happy with the customer service and empathy I received when going through that process. read more

Gym workout is satisfying but the management team not. Especially when it comes to membership/downgrade or pause membership, it is horrible. They are tenacious on the money-making matter, and I was only a day late to give them notice which I was unaware of, they never mentioned that they required 30 days advanced notice and you'll need to sign the paper in person. And now paying for the full month + wait for 29 days to downgrade the membership. Also, when I signed-up they told me the heart rate monitor is mandatory and I need to buy it, and I did that but after a few weeks I realized the monitor is kept turning grey even when I'm running on high intensity. I've been struggling for more than a month to exchange it, but they won't. every single time the staff will try to teach me how the monitors work. They say they've tested it and works fine for them!!!! And I'm keep telling them the other "loaner" monitors work fine but mine doesn't. Long story short - I GAVE up and I don't want any conversation around this topic, just for my peace. Very frustrating, I feel like having a peaceful workout on my own without the monitor and whenever I want. read more

We stopped by to check out OTF nearly a year ago. We decided against it. Did not fit what we wanted. Since then they have called my husband and I about 3 times a month. I was recommended to try to join this place by a co-worker in 2019 as she had heard great things of HIIT gym. To lose the weight and health wellness, I joined this place as Seattle is rainy and many places don't have side walks. I did lose the weight by cardio HIIT. I visited only twice a week, rest all was self walk. I did recommend it to my relatives. Many people had love & support in community during covid. I left them one month before covid started in the community. Since then I have gone to other Gyms in neighborhood, online & indoor on Zoom or iphone shared app membership subscriptions for 2 years. read more

Make sure to NEVER refer anyone. They constantly tout that you'll get something for it, but then they'll argue with you about who, and how it was undocumented. Been a member for a year, referred 6 members. Arguing over text message about how they had no record of people saying I referred them even though I have text & facebook messages from my friends telling me that they specifically told them I referred them. Two T's motivation! - Trackers & Trainers. Orange theory is killer fitness. I seemed to be confused when staff or receptionist told me nobody knows what they teach next day, everyday it is new. I was was extremely confused and gave up for a while. After a month of review, research and videos, I signed up for unlimited classes for $169 with $10 discount with no expectation because I'm still confused on how's it going to work out for me. For the new signups, fitness here is more to build good stamina and overall fitness. If you're looking to building muscle, I don't think this is the place. You can burn more calories than expect and be stronger. People who wants to reduce weight, this is the good place too, you burn calories in 60mins everyday. Most of the classes last for 60 mins. Earlier, I haven't ran on treadmill for more than 15 mins anytime. I'm now running 30 mins easily. They have set of exercises, 30 mins treadmill, 15 mins rower, 15 mins of weights. It seems to be really balanced exercise. I burnt 900 calories in 1 hour which is really shocking for my stamina. I never felt strong and motivated going to gym anytime in my life. Things to improve at most of the OTs, I visited few other OTs, sometimes they miss out on explaining which exercise is for which part of the body. Fitness area is really clean and staff is super cool, music will pump your heart to do more. I think the reason for being motivated is trainers and trackers. 2 Ts are the only reason am going to gym. My favorite trainer Allie and Jen. I just love going to their classes, they show lot of enthusiasm & exuberance. Trackers keep you running and achieve targets and goals. NOT GOOD. I went in for a free trial with great optimism because I've been looking to join a fitness club. This location and the ideal behind the workout was very appealing. I saw a couple of YouTube videos and talked to a cousin who is a OT member before the initial workout so I went in well informed. A friendly young lady behind the tall counter greeted me and went over some basics as I signed a couple of forms. The workout itself was challenging but I found the instructor to be very apathetic and marginal. I noticed she taught most of the classes on a day to day basis. This would explain her uninterested and almost robotic class instruction. After class, the young lady behind the counter showed me membership pricing and sent me on my merry way. She was not intrusive and pushy. They told me I would get a detailed statistics report on my workout via email and I did not receive any. I did however receive an email about a promotion. $79 for 3 classes, a heartbeat monitor and a retail gift card. I was compelled to purchase this deal so I called in the last day of the advertised deal. I talked to a young man over the phone who basically told me he couldn't honor it and there's no lenience on the matter. I explained that a business should honor a deal they advertised and he was quick to respond with a "nope, sorry. There's nothing I can do. Corporate controls everything and even the owners wouldn't have authority over things like this." It was evident that he wanted to shut me down more than he wanted help. He was dismissive at best. Customer service is not his calling, for sure. Frustrated, I asked for the manager. Inconveniently, the manager wasn't in but the man on the phone told me he will leave a message. Before I can say "thanks", he hung up the phone. There was NO call back or follow up from the manager on this matter. As a small business owner, I know the value of patronage and good customer service. For an establishment that relies on membership, I am baffled by the sheer dispassion and indifference of these representatives. To the owners: you just lost my $170/month. I rarely give bad reviews on yelp but this one's for the books. I kept two stars because a second class I took with an instructor named Fredrick was amazing. OTF has become my go to workout and I would highly recommend this gym to friends and family. The workouts are rigorous and I don't feel like there is potential for injury. Also, the coaches in Bothell are the best. My only wish is that the AC would be stronger in the summertime. read more

I LOVE MY OTF CLASSES! I've been a OTF member since May and I can't get enough of these classes. The staff is amazing! The trainers are friendly, knowledgeable, passionate for fitness, and they take the time to educate you if you are new to the fitness world. I've been attending regularly ever since they opened back in May (2016). I can say that I am stronger not just physically but also mentally. Last thing I want to do after a day of chasing my toddler around is make up my own workout. I make decisions all day long, so I love that I can put my little guy to bed and leave my husband home to come to OT and THEY tell ME what to do. So OT is a place where I feel taken care of. I'm encouraged to challenge myself during the workout and feel so much stronger as a result. Sometimes a little friendly competition pops up, but usually pretty organically - it's not conjured. I also love the super positive atmosphere and the fact that there are people there of all ages, shapes and sizes. I have been coming to OTF Bothell since they first opened back in May and must say this place has consistently delivered since day one. Clean facility (showers/lockers available a huge plus for AM workouts), friendly and knowledgeable trainers, tons of parking, a wide range of offered class times, and most importantly dynamic classes that can accommodate all fitness levels. In addition they hold events beyond the standard class (mud runs, dry-tri competitions, weekend hikes, weight loss challenges, etc.) which adds to the camaraderie that goes along with OTF. I just joined this center last week, and so far my experience has been amazing. The front desk and coaches are very warm and welcoming. They do their best to make themselves available to answer any questions. The atmosphere is truly upbeat and positive. I initially contacted another OTF in the area, but they didn't seem interested enough in gaining my business so I gave Bothell a try and I'm glad I did. I have worked out with personal trainers in the past, and this experience is different because 1) the pace is much faster, allowing you to get a full one hour workout in - not 15 min of stretching, machines with breaks in between, talking, and uninterested trainers just watching the clock, and 2) the heart rate monitor allows you to see where you're at during your workout which in turn lets you decide if you want to keep the pace or go all out. At the end of each workout, I get an email that lets me know how many calories I burned and how many "splat points" I earned (ask a coach about splat points), and 3) my 50 min training sessions at my "old" gym cost on average $50 a session. A 60 min session here is a lot less, and with the unlimited plan, there is a huge cost savings. After a week of workouts, my entire body is sore (which is a good thing!), and I know that after a couple of months of consistent workouts, my body will be transformed. OTF Bothell staff and trainers are awesome. I came in very out of shape and within 4 months of going consistently I'm a beast with muscles and super cardio. All around best body workout. Anyone can do this and it's super inspiring to see new people come in out of shape and push themselves. I have no idea why more guys don't join because in an hour you do stuff at least I wouldn't do on my own like cardio and core work. If you're going consistently and not losing weight it's your diet. I never thought I'd ever enjoy working out at a gym, but Orangetheory is unlike any other and I'm loving it. I joined 4 months ago and i feel that this is the best thing I've done for myself. I've been sleeping better, feeling great about myself knowing that I'm taking care of my body, I have more energy and I feel stronger than ever before. This is my favorite kind of gym. It's a high intensity interval training with new workouts everyday and heart rate monitor so you can always see how you are doing. It's an auction type of exercise and I have been going soccer they opened and hope to continue. read more

Having done many different types of workouts throughout the years I would have to say that the orange theory workout is by far one of the best for loosing weight and gaining lean muscle. I started my first class incredibly out of shape from a year of unhealthy eating and ZERO exercise. My first class was challenging and difficult but everything is at your level of capability. Over the past six weeks my body composition has changed drastically and I couldn't be happier with how I look and feel. The concept of Orange Theory (OT) at its core, is an excellent way to workout and to burn a lot of calories within a short amount of time. However, at this Bothell studio, the option to engage in alternate endurance activities is frowned upon. For example, if participating in rowing (a core component of OT training), is not an option due to injury or other circumstances, the OT staff and trainers become highly offended about the need to modify workouts. While I loved OT at the beginning, the unprofessional treatment by the staff and trainers, when needing to modify exercises was unfortunate and resulted in the canceling of my family membership. OT Bothell didn't seem to bat an eye at losing 300$ a month, or losing the voice of two customers who initially, positively promoted the OT workout within the local community. read more

I signed up for Orangetheory when I was traveling all over the country and it fit the bill perfectly for what I needed as locations all over. Because of this I have been to MANY other OTF studios and this one BY FAR exceeds trying to create a feeling of community and accountability to yhose who work out here. Coaches try to learn your name and at almost every class I've seen them ask if anyone is not only new to OTF but to taking a class with that particular coach. Coaches are always more than happy to help you make work out adjustments or answer questions-you just have to ASK! I appreciate that once they know me and my abilities, they offer modifications based on my skills. Definitely a top studio in my book. read more

The coach was still explaining things when I arrived a couple minutes late and told us "you better not f'ing get lost cuz it pisses me off". I go to OTF to compete with myself. Can't say enough good things about this place. The trainers are the best. They are so motivating and are all in peak shape themselves. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I am an athlete and am pushed to my limit every workout. I have yet to do the same workout twice. Great team building and supportive atmosphere and they play upbeat and good music to keep you pumped. I've been going consistently for 3 weeks and am already seeing my body change. Also noteworthy is that they are very hygienic and always having us wipe machines down; then they clean up after we leave.
