Excellent experience from start to finish - from the atmosphere (incredible view of the falls!), to…read morethe service, to the food. We paid the extra surcharge to lock in a table right at the window, and have to say it is worth it if you can swing it. We checked out some of the tables slightly further back, and while still great, not nearly as magical. Food was high level - and focused on local Ontario food and drink. I had a flight of local whiskeys, which were all tasty. Everything we had was great - the steaks were perfectly cooked. The seafood soup special was awesome (loaded with mussels, clams, salmon and creamy but not too creamy). The panzanella salad was also a top notch version as well with extremely fresh ingredients. Overall though, even including the kids, the favorite was the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Slight maple flavor, good miso flavor, perflectly crispy and some extra sweetness pops from pomegranates. That's the one I'll be thinking about!

This venue is incredible and it wasn't crowded at the end of August. Pricing is higher but the food was surprisingly good. My friend even took a photo because her plate was so pretty to look at when it came out. They don't usually make the effort to present food at tourist spots so we were impressed. Much appreciated! I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. The location is perfect.

Wow! What a hidden gem! I have lived in the area majority of my life and have never been here, but…read moream glad I have now. This is such a great experience for students at the culinary school, I love that they have this ability to work here. The hostess, servers, and food is all PHENOMENAL. I do believe the menu changes seasonally/semesterly, so I will have to come back to try a new menu! You pay a flat fee of $40 for bread that is baked at the schools bakery, an appetizer of your choosing, an entree of your choosing, and also a dessert. This time I had some sort of sausage ball for my app, steak frites which was a special for my entree, and the chocolate raspberry tart. I would get everything again. The server even asked if we were celebrating anything special, and we just said that I was back in town and they wrote Welcome Home on my dessert plate! Such a special touch that will stick with me.

Ordered a salad, roasted chicken and the pana cotta for dessert. We left still hungry. All the portions were extremely small. They also did not ask about allergies, which I thought was SO important especially since they are a school. The salad was good, but about the size of a fist. The chicken was really tender and moist, plated well, but only a small thigh/wing with a few cubed cucumbers and tomatoes under. The pana cotta was 2-3 bites, was served on a cookie the size of an Oreo cookie. For $40 per person, it is overpriced and not worth it.

They accepted a reservation for a party of 12, they welcomed us warmly, with empathy for the circumstances. They served us quickly and efficiently. It was not busy and we didn't have to wait for a table which is a plus. I ordered smoked turkey, with salad and sweet potato fries and a pg13 which was ginger beer, mint and I added a shot of vodka. When our food came out I had to question what was going on with the sweet potato fries because they had a thick coating and looked beer battered, not at all indicated on the menu. I asked the server, Kelsey W., and she paused and said yea I don't know for sure but if you can't have gluten I wouldn't eat them. I was annoyed at the situation and just took them off my plate but I understand this can happen. The server seemed annoyed and goes on to blame me and says I should have told her. Now will say I did have to go through the salad ingredients and pick most of them out, she didn't ask me about allergies either. And it's not common to add a beer batter coating to sweet potato fries without indicating it in the menu. The menu should be updated asap for other guests. Any other server would apologize for the situation and ask how they can make it better and not blame for a customer for a misunderstanding. After that I realized there was an extra sauce on the tray, I asked her to check with the kitchen to see what was in it, is it safe for me to eat? She came back 15 minutes later and said she will check and have an answer soon. It was not busy, this was not acceptable. Again clearly not showing any help for your guest with a food issue. This showed me she had zero concern or care about this or trying to smooth it over. Finally, towards the end of the meal I realized my water was leaking, had thought it was condensation as it was hot out. My glass, water cup had a huge crack in it. You would have hoped that someone would have seen it before serving it to someone. Clearly a safety issue. I hope I didn't ingest glass. I handed it back to our server and told her this glass needed to be tossed in the trash. Her response was another blank look, she didn't really care and just gave me another shallow I'm sorry. The rest of my meal was tasty and it was a large portion. Everyone else at my table had nice looking food and was happy with it. I will personally not come back here. District 37- it wouldn't hurt to update your menu and add what is gluten safe and indicate what kind of coating is on your sweet potato fries because a lot of people who choose these have special dietary needs. You should also train your staff to help bring up allergy issues with your guests and have more empathy if an issue arises. If this is something a server isn't able to work on they might consider an alternate employment opportunity.
