Upon walking in, the restaurant had an old time fare about it as the decor was a tad bit outdated with the beautiful murals, but surrounded by the ordinary tables and chairs. The restaurant reminded me of "Grandma's Haus" without the overwhelming aging smell. I wasn't hungry much, but wanted a bite to eat. My boyfriend was indeed starving and was ready to sink his teeth into some Greek food! We were immediately greeted by this nice and kind server, she was attentive and gave us patience when ordering. I ordered a Greek salad minus the feta cheese. My boyfriend got the gyro sandwich, fries, and zucchini fritters. Our server jokingly questioned why I wanted to opt the cheese, but I gladly told her to make it vegan at which she agreed that she could. I wasn't expecting the salad to be a massive portion, but geez louise, it was colossal with half cut tomatoes, large cucumbers (not the Kirby ones), long strips of purple onions, thick lettuce, the brightest and tangy banana peppers, unpitted Kalamata olives with a housemade viniaigrette. The salad was enough for two, but it was overwhelmingly delicious to finish for one. The olives were a tad bit harder to eat since the pits remained in there, not good for anyone that could struggle with swallowing or can choke easily. I did struggle to fit the tomatoes in my tiny mouth which they needed to be cut more. I haven't had a good salad with that portion size in a while. My boyfriend said that the food was good, but that it doesn't beat Aladdin Mediterranean Grill in Jackson. I could agree that the food was solid. The prices definitely matched what I used to spend at Dimassi's Mediterranean buffet (in Houston, TX) back in the early 2012-2018 before COVID hit. I actually miss those days when everything was dirt cheap. You can't go wrong at Mr. Greek if you are wanting tasty food and you are craving Greek. read more

Nicely surprised by Mr Greek! I was in Biloxi and found it via an online search. It is tucked away in a little strip shopping center with a host of other ethnic restaurants - Korean, Vietnamese, Italian. It wasn't hard to find and there was plenty of parking. I was here for lunch on a Saturday. It was empty when I arrived but by the time I left it was pretty full. Lots of locals and regular customers talking about how good it is. I can attest. My food was fresh and delicious. I can't attest for its' authenticity, but it is as good as any Greek food I have had elsewhere. Service was quick. I was seated immediately and the lady brought my drink out right away. She kept the refills coming and my glass never got empty. After I ordered, my food came out very quickly. She kept checking on me, and the restaurant started to fill up, but I never felt any pressure like she was trying to hustle me out and turn the table. This was good, because my plate was so large that it took me a while to eat it all! My food was a little bit pricey for a lunch, but it was so nice that I feel it was worth it. I wanted to like this restaurant, I really did. So many people have raved about the food here, yet they missed the mark with my family and I. Growing up on a heavy diet of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, I was expecting fresh flavors bursting with lemon and oregano. It never happened. After reading reviews we ordered based off of recommendations. People talked about how amazing the fries are. My husband received a plate of fries that were nothing special. No special seasoning or sauce. Semi crispy with a side of ketchup. We decided to split the pastisio and combo platters. The pastisio and moussaka were very dry and lacked flavor. The keftedes were mushy and my husband commented that all he could taste was mint and garlic. They were not for me. The dolmathes were great. They had run out of the Mediterranean chicken and so my daughter ordered the grilled chicken. The chicken breasts had some seasoning sprinkled on them but that was about it. The rice was very good and we all liked the tzatziki sauce, but it was a bit heavy on the garlic. The green beans were overcooked and inedible. I really do not like leaving reviews like this, but after paying $80 for sub-par food, I can't sit quietly. read more

I have tried Mr. Greek twice so far. The first time I ordered a large Greek salad with grilled chicken and baklava to go. In total, it was $19.06. There was not a lot of chicken at all on the salad, it was mainly all lettuce and veggies. When I ordered from them the second time, I inquired about the chicken and they told me that I would have to order extra chicken if I wanted more. My second time ordering, I got the gyro a la costa which I highly recommend. In total, my order was $13.95. Well worth it both in price, quality, and quantity compared to the salad I got previously. The gyro was stuffed full with delicious meat, veggies, hummus, and the tzatiki sauce was delicious. In the future, I would order the gyro from Mr. Greek again. read more

Mr. Greek is very good food. Wait to be seated, and once you are, then get ready for the quick no nonsense but friendly service. They are efficient and will have your food out quickly. Once your food is delivered, the final check is also set down on your table. Pay at the checkout podium where you entered the restaurant. The dining room decor is old school and could use some updating. I have had just about everything on the menu and recently purchased the lunch special that was listed as soup and salad. Excellent service for this tiny little hole in the wall place. It's not hurting for customers as it's nearby the USAF base. Everyone was super friendly and service was quick. I am a bit spoiled as I lived in Greece in the 80's, moved to the Gulf Coast from Chicago where we had a huge Greek population and Greektown which was full of marvelous establishments. I'm a pretty decent Greek cook, however, sourcing the ingredients on the Coast is challenging. All in all I'd go back and try something other than gyros. My lunchtime companion was a bit rushed as she had to get back to her office. I'd like to work my way through some of the appetizers. read more

I was on my way to Papa Johns until I saw this place and said what the heck! As I entered the front door I was welcomed with lively music (maybe Greek?) and a friendly lady in the back greeted me hello in a stern voice. I perused the menu trying to make sense of it all, however I played it safe with an order of gyro. I was not expecting much maybe thin slices of meat on a pita bread. I've been here at least thirty times in all the years and it's by far the best gyro in the south. Huge , packed with meat light dressing , crunchy fresh veggies and I always add feta. The feta large chunk just adds the extra seasoning on a perfect sandwich. Which I admit I should try something else here but the gyro is so darn good I've never stayed from this selection. A local friend recommended we come here so we dropped by during a road trip. It's a very small restaurant in a rundown strip mall but we were very glad we stopped by! The gyros came out warm and the pita was nice, soft, & fluffy. The meat was perfect. Not dry, perfect amount of seasoned, and most importantly soft & delicate. The meat is the most important aspect when it comes to gyros and they hit that by x100. I haven't had a great gyro since I lived in San Jose back in 2016. Went here for the first time this past weekend and of course we ordered hummus (love hummus). The hummus was delicious. My sister and I both ordered the Divan sandwich. The Divan sandwich consists of a grilled chicken breast with lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed onions and peppers, and tzatziki sauce. Pretty good sandwich. The chicken was well cooked and the tzatziki sauce was perfect. The restaurant seems really authentic with the Greek owner also being the head chef. They have greek tablecloths on every table. It has hummus, lettuce and onions on it. I also ordered fried zucchini and it did. It disappoint. (pictured half eaten) The zucchini was served with Tziki sauce, which made for an awesome taste when the sticks were dipped. One of my friends that I went with ordered the Gyro dinner and he had a TON of food. You for sure get your money worth when you come here. I tried the falafel appetizer and the dolmas appetizer. Falafel: Nice flavour. They seemed like maybe they were fried in too hot oil? The outside was very dark brown, just a shade away from burnt, but the inside was not fully cooked. They still tasted good and yes, I ate them anyway. They come with a little bit of babaganoush. Dolmas: Served cold, 5 to a plate with a wedge of lemon and a hunk of tomato. I didn't like the flavour of the olive oil on them so that kind of ruined it for me. Much better after squeezing the lemon juice over them. The interior is small and sparsely decorated. There are giant murals on the walls and that's about it. From some of the seating you can see into part of the kitchen and storage. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. read more

Ambiance: cute, family owned restaurant. Service was good. Lunch time is busy but bearable. I ordered the gyro platter for lunch. My only gripe is that the gyro meat was too salty, house salad was drenched in dressing, and the green beans were overcooked. It seemed like they couldn't get it right with the lunch rush.
