If I could give this place 10 stars , I would. I have tried Chinese restaurants all along the coast and some were good others very bad, but this is the first restaurant that is excellent. I tried the General Chicken and Shrimp fried rice... both were very fresh and totally unique taste when compared to other Asian restaurants. The other restaurants seem to use the same standard mix. This restaurant actually tastes more like the restaurants in NOLA use too. I went back and tried the Sesame chicken and wow! Wow! It was fresh, crispy and delicious. Since they don't have a buffet, they obviously focus on the quality of their dishes. I will be going back to try more. I'll keep you posted. read more

It was a work day week and needed a quick dinner and I decided to check out China Bistro due to the fact I literally live right across the street from it but yet never ate here. The restaurant was very clean and has dining tables to enjoy or to take out your food and was fairly crowded for the evening when I dropped in. I went ahead and placed a order at the cash register for a to go order. They have plenty of dishes that anyone can relate to and enjoy but I decided to go with the chicken lo mein, garlic chicken, teriyaki chicken, and beef and broccoli. For the dishes they have small and large portions and I decided to opt in for the small dishes except for the fried noodles. The dishes come with white rice or fried rice and I decided to go with the fried rice with all 3. When I first got home I opened them all up to snap the pictures but was sorda confused on which was which with the teriyaki chicken and garlic chicken because I couldnt identify what was what. Also I noticed the portions were really small and this place sticks to there identity with small being small! Quick time first bite! The food was still hot and fresh and it had good flavor but low on the protein. With the teriyaki chicken I identified it by the pineapple like flavor and green bell peppers with a soy base. The fried rice was your typical white rice with color added to it with not much flavor. The garlic chicken had canned bamboo shoots with carrots and zuchinni but I couldnt understand the garlic part. The beef and broccoli was great with nice green vibrant bites of broccoli and a couple of carrots but very few cuts of beef. The chicken lo mein was ok but had very little flavor and didnt have the wok like flavor to it. The veggies inside were little to none and the flavor wasnt all there but yet not bad. Overall A-Ok place for me for a quick take out for food. Customer service was good and timing was on point! Everything was great but nothing extrordinary just a average restaurant! read more

It's been almost a year since I have had decent Chinese food.. Finally we have found DELICIOUS Chinese food on the coast. The food was very fresh, seasoned to perfection. We ordered Chicken lo Mein, Steamed Dumplings, General Tso's chicken, Crab Wontons and Sweet and Sour Chicken and steamed rice. Chicken dishes were perfect, not overly breaded. Don't make the mistake I did for a long time which was to drive right by this place. It was terrific! Most entrees have a small or large portion available and the prices reflect this. Everything seemed very reasonable, including our orders. Mongolian Beef was sauced well with a good spice that was not overwhelming but let you know you were eating something freshly made. The portion, the small, was just enough when combined with the starter course of some tasty crab rangoon. The place is very small, seating probably 20-24. Definitely worth the stop and deserving if another visit. read more

I recently branched out and tried the Lo Mein and Sesame Seed chicken. Both were great but sweet and sour is still my favorite! I love that the workers are always friendly and engaging. Due to COVID 19, this was the only Chinese takeout open in the immediate area, so despite its 3 stars we decided to give it a try. I probably won't be back. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, chicken lo mein, Szechuan chicken, and egg rolls. The flavor of the food was lackluster at best. The sweet and sour chicken was not crispy (and the sauce was separate). All of the entrees were protein light considering there price and the portion sizes were small. I asked which veggies were in the Szechuan chicken. She neglected to mention two others (that I don't like) were present. They also need to remove the copy of the menu that's on here, the prices are outdated. I paid $8 more than anticipated. Honestly, this deserves two stars, but the service was good and the staff friendly. We also had an extra egg roll in the bag, hence the third star. This place was amazing. Definitely the best Chinese on the coast. I went here with 3 co-workers for lunch and we each ordered different meals. The food came out with the appetizers first and they came steaming hot!!! followed shortly with our meals, each being piping hot. Receiving hot food seems hard to accomplish around here(it's always luke warm from most places). We each sampled each others food. Sesame chicken, beef lo mein, Szechuan chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Every dish was fantastic, as were the side orders of steam dumplings, spring rolls and hot and sour soup. Wow!!!! The food is great. Fresh & delicious. Only 4 stars because the amount of food was a bit deceiving. The cup of soup was 2/3 full, as well as the Shrimp in Lobster sauce. The lo mein tasted OK but was not very appealing looking and didn't have much pork. The Mongolian beef didn't look good, smell good or taste good. When I'm hungry I'll eat almost anything. One man was apparently doing all the work when we were there, from waiting tables to cooking, I think. He was considerate to our needs (we had a two year old.) I went to this place at least once a week, but no more. Today my husband got takeout from here and brought it up to my work so we could have lunch together. The problem is, the sweet and sour chicken was so hot that it burned through the cheap styrofoam container in two places. It caused a HUGE mess as it dripped all over my work uniform. We don't live close, so I had to purchase a new shirt to wear the rest of the day. We went back over to the restaurant to see about getting reimbursed for our $12 lunch, to pay toward the new shirt we had to get unnecessarily. They were rude, didn't apologize or sympathize, and accused us of lying. For that, they will NEVER ever again get my business. If you do not handle situations with good customer service, I will take my money elsewhere. read more

The fried rice was simply white rice doused in oil and soy sauce and the lunch portion was so small for the price. I had the Szechuan chicken, not bad. My wife and I really like this place. We just saw it driving by one day and decided to stop in. It's fantastic, fresh cooked Chinese food in portions that don't cause remorse. But ... I have one complaint and it's a pretty big one: they sell 'plates' in small and large and if you buy small you get fried rice. But if you buy the Large portion, they bait and switch you with white rice. Of course they'll sell you an upcharged fried rice. WTH is wrong with you people? That is the dumbest attempt to upcharge people that I have ever seen in a restaurant. That's worse than the potato chip - French fries upcharge. Why do they even have plain white rice at a Chinese food restaurant? In my opinion a $10 single plate of Chinese food is reasonably priced with sides and a drink. Here, drink is extra so you already have one strike against you. Then you try to upcharge me for fried rice? Disappointing. read more
