Locally recommended to me I ordered the Mar Far Chicken combo with rice with shrimp. Apparently Mar Far chicken with pink sauce is a southern Oregon delicacy. I ate every bite. The waitress was fun and friendly too. read more

Worst meal I have ever had. China hut used to be great. Not only were we shorted a box of mar far chicken and a box of almond chicken chow mein . But we were charged for 2 large greasy inedible boxes of egg rolls that we did not order on a large pick up order. This place used to serve great food. Now all you get is grease drenched food that is hard and over cooked and a stomach ache. Called about missing items was told it was packed right. As good as it gets.. After our favorite Chinese restaurant closed, we went on the search to find another. Then on my birthday my honey discovered China Hut. So we went not knowing what to expect! Boy were we surprised! Great find, great food, great service and great price! We had lemon chicken, Schezwan noodles, house egg rolls, white rice, hot & spicy soup and egg drop soup! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-S! Quaint little place, don't let it's appearance fool you. The lady that served us was amazing. Wife ate a spicy pepper that was too hot and she knew to bring milk before being asked. She asked what my spice tolerance was for the szechuan chicken and it was amazing. I had the number 8 combination and the pork fried rice was simple, flavorful, and felt authentic and delicious. The egg roll was crispy and juicy and just amazing. Wife had kungpao chicken and loved it and our son had chicken lo-mein and it was a huge plate and delicious. 5/5 definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick reasonably priced meal. read more

China hut is as good or better than any other Chinese food in town and the staff are great! Everyone raves about how good Kim's was and I agree because they were my go to from the time I was 4-5 yrs old with my parents until they closed BUT as far as consistency China hut is my all time Favorite! I love this place. It is a Medford staple. It is always on par. There is never a problem.

I would give it zero stars if I could. I am unfamiliar with the Medford area and was craving Chinese food, so I stopped in. Big mistake! The oil everything was cooked in was rancid. When your orange chicken tastes like Long John Silver's, you know something is very wrong. The pork fried rice was rubbery in texture with a sickly, pallad hue and had the delightful flavor of a dirty fish tank. The "egg roll" was a gargantuan monstrosity oozing with greasy mystery meat, coated in the same Long John Silver's batter, and then double fried to oblivion to snuff out any redeeming qualities it might have once possessed. I don't know what this is but it's definitely not what most people would consider chow mein. Dry flavorless "noodles" and just little bits of chicken rib meat and tons of onion. Basically a while onion in there... and the General Tao's is absolutely tasteless and does not even taste close to what you'd consider General Tso's and has to be at least a day old. Potter stickers too are very bland and the dipping sauce is just rice vinegar. How disappointing for a bday dinner. Waste of $30. read more

The waitress who greeted me was super friendly and I work at a restaurant as a busboy and I know the average attitude of a server on a weekend night and it is much worse than her. She very much impressed me and I give her five stars. I had the special combo number 7 and cream cheese crab puff appetizer. The puffs were very delicious as was the pork fried rice that came with my combo, the chicken was nothing bad but nothing special, and I also enjoyed the shrimp a lot too. My fiance loves this place, but he only eats one thing: Combo #6 Mar Far Chicken, Pork Chow Mein (crunchy noodles), and Pork Fried Rice. I also like their potstickers, but I can get those at Freddie's, so for me, it's not that impressive. They have a horrible online menu that doesn't give descriptions or pictures and is not very appetizing. I would love to find a better place, but my man is fixated on this one dish. Maybe I am missing out on something good, but I have yet to see anything on the menu that looks like something to try. NEVER AGAIN! My daughter wanted to surprise me and had food from China Hut delivered to my hospital room. It arriveded in record time. The DoorDash driver put the bag on my table and left...I grabbed the bag and on the ither side it was wet...not a big deal...so it leaked. I openned the bag...no Chinese mustard...no sweet & sour sauce...no napkins...no flatware... I pulled the tubs out...they were both soaked...and one tub as soon as it was out the tub totally soaked the container fell apart...I had hot food everywhere...on my bed table...in my bed...all over me burning me. I had to call my nurse. He helped me get it all cleaned up...I ordered shrimp fried rice...and seafood medley with no seafood... Manager was rude and cussed my daughter. He said he was not the d...mn cook and he didn't care. He offered no concession whatsoever... I would have been fine with a partial refund and an appology. I had very little rice...it was very dry and burnt...it stuck together in black clumps. He said jf I brought it back he would exchange it. My family has been coming here occasionally for 30 years, and the place hasn't changed much. It even looks like we're still using the same set of dishware and silverware after all these years. It's about what you might expect from a well-aged, greasy Chinese restaurant. The place is kind of dirty, but sometimes fried Chinese food just hits the spot. I would recommend avoiding the bathroom if you can, as it may ruin your appetite. Try not to think about the condition of the kitchen, and instead lose yourself in the salty, fatty goodness of what lies on your plate. Though the food is not particularly amazing, somehow it is particularly craveable (did somebody say MSG?), and so you might find yourself coming back for more. The service has been amazing for us. The owners are very quiet, but the waitstaff is super friendly and helpful. The service is a big part of what keeps us coming back. I would rank the cleanliness of this place at 2 stars, and the craveable yet somewhat mediocre food at 3-4 stars. We have found the friendly service to be excellent and worthy of 5 stars. It's been many many years since I have visited CH. while in the Rogue Valley I decided to pick up take out for a family get together. The food was firmly mediocre. In the past the food was an exact knock off of Kim's...no so much now, except for a the pink sauce. In the future I'll go back to King Wahs or the Far East. read more

I have had better and had worse, but for the price, I give it a 4, for sure going to order the Pepper Beef again, if my friend wasnt eating too, Id have eaten all that dish myself. Chinese food yummy , I can't complain I love this place ever since I was a little girl ,my dad would bring us here and and buy us Shirley temples. I enjoy the fried rice and eggrolls , actually I love it all , I just wish they would still bring you a the little bowl of ice cream like they use to do when I was alittle girl . Upon entering a little girl saw me and started calling her mom. And the hostess or waitress came out from one of the booths. She was very nice and seated me. I waited over 8 minutes to get my order taken. The waitress was very nice. Not a lot of people here at the time I got here 1:30 pm. Got my order in and now just waiting to see how it's gonna turn out. I'm starving too. I noticed they haven't gotten any new silverware which they need badly. Had delivery ~9:00pm 8/1/2019. Dinner combo #11, egg roll, pork fried rice, orange chicken. The pink sauce smelled off, the orange sauce on chicken smelled off, the chicken inside the orange chicken breading smelled sour!! I also took 1 bite and got an egg shell!!! My first bite!!! Hopefully that came off the rice. Anyway I had strep throat symptoms and decided maybe I was off, not the food. Big mistake. At 1-2am 8/2/19 i was vomiting heavily. This further irritated my throat and caused a visit to Urgent Care for steroids to reduce swelling SO I COULD SWALLOW,DRINK, TALK, AND EAT!! Called the health department and they inspected today 8/2/2019 around 2pm. China Hut needs a 70 to pass, they hit 70 exactly (guess their motto is "just the bare minimum") since that is all that is needed to keep serving food, the health inspector let me know of a few areas they didn't meet and that she made reccomendations... although they passed... So they don't really need to do anything more to keep serving food... 1. Both dishwashers were being ran without any santitizer (yep, spray rinsed and then splashed with plain jane water from the ole dish washey. Probably cold water cause chemical sanitizing washers dont use heated water) 2. one of their fridges was holding at 50° instead of 41° which caused their beef, and oil/garlic mixture to be outside safe temps, 3. and reusing cardboard boxes that held eggs to hold sauce that they serve. She said she couldn't say for sure that China Hut DID/DIDN'T get me sick...
