Went on a whim seeking Thai in the area. Set in what looks like an older house. Only one person front of house. A few tables filled. Menu looks typical with all the normal things. What seems out of place was a bottle of dom champagne and for over $300, are you trying to elevate the place by serving it? Weird. Some of the serving containers were nice but hard to serve because of the shape. The yellow chicken curry was not to good, some chicken with double the amount of carrots and some really thick pieces of fried sweet potatoes in a sauce that was way to thin (a sauce should coat the back of a spoon) the rice was way to small a portion too. read more

This is a Thai restaurant for people who don't know what great Thai food tastes like, I'm sorry to say . The food was off, but edible, not enjoyable. The service was ok, not terrific. Food took a long time to come out and it was only moderately busy. The ambiance was not bad. I was mostly disappointed in the food. It was a good try, but the flavors were off, and since Thai is my number 1 go-to I feel confident in my review. I ordered a Thai iced tea and never had one like what they brought me. I didn't drink all of it, and that is saying a lot!! I had a cucumber salad and a piece of salmon (blackened and seasoned) with red curry, a few veggies and rice. I would not recommend this restaurant to others, as I will keep looking for a restaurant that serves excellent Thai dishes, but this establishment is not it. I passed by this place while traveling to Vancouver. Kind of just randomly searched it up, but I'm always on the look for good Thai food restaurant. This place was in a tiny community perfect for visitors! First of all, the Parking is really easy. I feel like the customers are virtually all road travelers. So not busy at all. The place inside is cozy and really strive to bring out the Thai environment. FOOD: For a place on the outskirts, this Thai restaurant is amazing! My sister found a silver metal sliver in her Phan Thai, server said she believed it was from their cleaning brush, which cook verified. Offered to remake (yeah cuz that's what we want, more silver in our diet!) or take off bill. My red curry was literally the worst ever. Runny sauce with chicken that didn't look like chicken and had all sorts of disgusting things attached to it, looked like it was straight from the floor of a chicken slaughter house. There is ample parking and is easy enough to get to in downtown Grants Pass. Food: Well, if we had a chance to actually eat our entree, maybe I will have better things to say, but alas, we ordered a thai iced tea (which was way too creamy) and a shirley temple. Both of which we nursed for almost 2 hours since we were never asked if we wanted a refill. We ordered their cucumber salad, which came in after over an hour wait, and fried tofu (which came after over 1.5 hours of waiting). The cucumber salad was so-so, nothing to write home about. The fried tofu was half cooked. After waiting for 1.45 hours for our entree to arrive, we finally canceled the entree, seeing that another table that were seated before us, still had not gotten all of their food, so.... at that point, after almost 2 hours, we just weren't hungry anymore and decided to cancel the entree. Service: Rude, RUDE, R-U-D-E! I know not everyone takes the pandemic seriously, but if you are going to open your restaurant for dine in and ask your patrons to wear a mask, then please, PLEASE, wear a mask to show your patrons that you are taking all safety measurements seriously and set a damn good example! Not once did any of the staff acknowledge the fact that we had been waiting for over an hour to get ANY food. No one apologized for the very long wait. Not once in almost 2 hours (with only 4 visits from the wait staff: 1. To get our orders (after 10 mins of sitting down) 2. To deliver our drinks (after 30 mins of sitting down) 3. To deliver our cucumber salad which required no cooking (after 1hr 20 mins of sitting down) 4. To deliver our fried tofu (which was half cooked) (after 1.40 mins of sitting down)) Did the owner or manager come by to offer apologies for the long wait, or even ask if we'd like more to drink or even acknowledge us. SUMMARY: Don't go. Don't waste your time. The food wasn't good, the service was horrible. The food was aggressively bland, like seriously tasteless, and we waited too long and paid too much for what we got. Pam couldn't wait to get rid of us, but not so badly that she would provide timely service. There was a young lady there who was helpful and friendly, to that person I say "run, away from this establishment as fast as you can." I wouldn't bother with this place unless your only other option is the gas station across the street. We were hot off the fire line after working the rum creek fire and were in the mood for Thai. We popped in and were greeted with a friendly smile and sat right away. They had 3 tables seated and were also filling a few to go orders. Water was immediately brought to our table and drink orders taken. We ordered the stuffed crab appetizer and it came out quickly and delicious. Where it turned was service and the main course. The waitress was not attentive and did not refill water until we were finished. They never returned to ask how our meal was. And the food was mediocre for Thai at best. They poured way too much sauce over the dishes such that it would have been more prudent to serve it on a bowl rather than a plate. An add on price of $3 for mix veggies gets you about 4 pieces of broccoli and a dozen carrot slices. Would recommend trying any other Thai restaurant in the area. read more

We were told it was great Thai food. The food was very bland and unlike any Thai food I get had before. Meh!! The spring rolls are nothing but spring salad mix with shredded carrots for 13 dollars. I had a noodle dish with peanut sauce and paid 5 dollars extra on top of the 14 dollars for prawns and it was nothing more than top ramen noodles with 5 small tasteless prawns for 19 dollars. A second entree Seafood combination featured shrimp, calamari and scallops in an interesting brown sauce with a ginger influence. The fried bananas & ice cream was the final exclamation point. Definitely a dessert to be shared as it is huge. Most entrees are $9.95 to $13.95, so fairly easy on the budget. Why they charge a surcharge for brown rice is puzzling, but so be it. The food was lukewarm (probably because it was prepared earlier in the day and nuked before serving) and the spring rolls were overcooked, too thick, and very difficult to eat without dripping piping hot juice on your chin and shirt. When notified that the food was not hot enough, the waitress suggested hot sauce to make it hotter (which was most likely meant as a joke), then did not offer to replace and comp the meal. The cops were called because we did not want to pay for a crappy meal. The owner demanded we pay the full cost or else we would be arrested and both of us were trespassed after I reluctantly paid the entire tab. Horrible place to spend your hard-earned cash on. I had high expectations for Pongsri's! We called for take out, but were not offered any specials over the phone. (When I picked up, I was disappointed because I would have ordered the salmon curry listed on specials board). The food was fresh and of good quality but was very expensive, especially for the portion sizes. The spring rolls were overly WET, unwrapped and only had in lettuce and carrot. Grants pass doesn't offer much for great food options, and unfortunately this is just another one to add to the list. read more

Just moved to town and had to find a great Thai restaurant. We tried Pongsri's and were completely satisfied. Lots of amazing dishes and their coconut based soup with sliced mushrooms and chicken was tasty. They seem to only prepare items utilizing freshly grown, seasonal produce (a plus) and will cater to specific requests if asked. We will be coming back here a lot. What's funny is we met a local customer who often eats here twice a day. I may end up doing that too. read more

I'm notoriously picky about Thai food. Pongsri's acceptable, but definitely less Thai and more American in their food prep than might be the case in a Thai restaurant in Portland or especially LA. It couldn't be easy to find a Thai chef in Grants Pass. Service was prompt and courteous on my visit. Restaurant is not large, but well-designed and clean. Parking on site, and easy to see this restaurant inbound from I-5. My suggestion is that if you have Thai food experiences and preferences, talk to your server candidly about spice levels and your expectations. I know they'll try and they might make you very happy. I would say this place is average at best, but sub-par for real Thai food. I have read the other reviews and agree that threw earlier staff are not very professional in that they are not attentive and don't really seem to know the menu. We had a party here and had to do a fair amount of self-service to keep things moving. On top of that the pad thai was over cooked and mushy, and without any flavor. The tempura was made with a very heavy batter, unlike the tempura toy would find at a Japanese restaurant. Of all the dishes, nothing stood out as excellent and my Thai wife reminded me throughout the night that this was not 'real' Thai food. I will give some consolation to this being Grant's Pass, a relative culinary wasteland (although that is changing) and palates are not very sophisticated. My guess is the menu has been adjusted to cater to the local clientele. But is a shame that they will base their opinion of Thai food on Pongsri's as it is not truly reflective oz the depth and breadth of Thai cuisine. read more

This was by far THE WORST Thai food I've ever had... Having lived in Thailand for a little over a year I've had the gamut of good and bad of authentic taste and can only say this falls short of even being passable as Thai cuisine... I ordered their "pad sa yu" hahaha wow , seriously reading others reviews it is definitely noteworthy to call what came out on my plate as slop. I was pretty hungry and excited to get some big fat noods and mouthwatering beef and what came out on my plate was over cooked noodles barely any beef and broccoli tossed in a sauce that myself and partner could only describe as what smelt and tasted like literal toilet water. I gagged , almost vomited on my plate my gf wouldn't even try a bite after smelling the rancid , putrid smell coming from the dish. I asked the waiter , who I believe is manager also to take a smell and tell me what it is ... upon smelling it she quickly rushed away with the plate to kitchen, after about 5 minutes she came back and asked me if I'd like something else on the menu or for it to be taken off the bill.... I opted for the later as the taste was still permeating inside my mouth... which lasted for quite some time even after leaving the restaurant... I asked again what the smell was and she said she did not know and she wasn't sure what it was supposed to to smell like .. how can you work at a Thai restaurant and not know that the dish should not smell like someone farted on the plate. This place should have a Heath and safety review as I'm pretty sure there was rancid ingredients being used or their water is tainted somehow ... should have read the reviews first... STAY AWAY FROM THIS TRASH OF A RESTRAUNT. read more
