First time I came here, it may have been because it was in the summer. Pedicure was great but the ventilation seemed off because the fumes in the space were very noticeable. Decided to give the place a go again and there was no issue with fumes AND my pedicure was great. Except for another obnoxious client who was listing to SNL on her iPAD WITHOUT earphones, the experience could have been a 5. Another client next to me and I just looked at each other like WTF? The whole situation puts the ladies who work here in an awkward situation. They don't want to offend any client. These ladies are understanding of all client concerns, work hard and don't rush the appointment. Given the hiccups, I would still recommend this place. read more

I came here for my wedding nails mani pedi and got a gel manicure done for my hands and a regular pedicure for my feet. The technicians were extremely attentive and did a wonderful job. Three weeks later and my mani/pedis are still looking almost as good as they did when I had my mani/pedi session three weeks ago! Immediately upon walking in I was offered a beverage and told to sit and get comfortable. Everyone introduced themselves to me - asking my name and providing theirs. We chatted a bit, but mostly I was able to sit back and close my eyes. I got a mani and a pedi and received the best hand/arm and foot/leg massages (including hot stone on my feet/legs!). Nice massage chairs with attached foot baths. These foot baths get a fresh liner each time so they are sanitary. Also they use a new buffer attachment for each pedicure. I feel comfortable that everything is clean. It's very relaxing to get your nails done here. read more

I found my new nail spot close to home & doctor's office. Orchid just opened December 2014, so they're not really busy during the days yet. Once they start having more customers, they will increase day(s) closed. As of now, just Sunday's are closed. Although it's off of a busy road, it's not hard to find. There is minimal parking in front & the street, but I think there is more in the back with a back entrance into the place. The environment is definitely spacious with a perfect amount of decor. It's super clean, which is a definite PLUS! It's also very organized. The tools come from a sanitized package for every new client. Lynn did so well! She really took her time with my French, gel manicure - my cuticles look amazing! Our conversation was super friendly. Overall I had an amazing first experience, and I will be coming back! read more

Cute, small, and clean! I'd suggest making an appointment. I came in tonight as their last appointment before closing. I had two gals working on my toes and hands and they both paid so much attention to detail. My shellac manicure is flawless and the girl doing my toes (a very dark color) spent a ton of extra time making sure everything was perfect. Very fair prices too...only $44 for a shellac manicure and regular pedicure. I usually pay over $50. Both ladies were so sweet and fun to chat with. Having just moved to the South Bay from Seattle I've been looking for a great nail salon and I think I finally found it! I will be back! read more

After finding out my usual nail place is closed due to renovations, I decided to go on the hunt for a new place to get my gel manicures. After much deliberation I decided to try Orchid Nails and I am so happy and glad I did! The customer service is superb - I don't feel harassed to do more than what I have asked for. The ladies are so friendly and the facility is very clean. Gloves are used as protection against the UV rays during the gel manicure process and the tools come in an enclosed packet; ensuring cleanliness. Nice friendly staff. I walked in and they took me right away. Offered hot tea or water when I got seated. The massage chairs are new and work. I got a pedicure for $27 and it came with a lengthy massage with hot stones. They use gloves and put a plastic bag inside the tub. All tools came out of a sealed bag labeled clean(very sanitary). I'm a longtime customer - I've been coming here for two years. Their service is great, but they quote you one price and charge you more at checkout. It's happened more frequently the past few months. I'll be quoted one price during the service and at checkout it's suddenly more. It doesn't help that there are no prices listed anywhere so it's likely not their fault, the owner is probably pushing them to charge higher than they quote. I ended up paying 20 dollars more for services than originally quoted. I just let it go. Service is actually great but after having this happen several times, It's time to find a new place. read more

I came here for the first time based on all the five star reviews here on Yelp, and I was not disappointed! I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure for pretty much the same price I have paid for the same services at other salons in the Palo Alto/Los Altos area. The technicians at Orchid Nails really take their time to perfect your mani/pedi and make sure that you are truly satisfied. The salon itself was very clean, upon arrival they offer you green tea or bottled water, they have nice massage chairs, use heated lotion for your massage (you have a choice of three scents), and have an electric tool to remove calluses from your feet (my feet have never been so soft!). I have never had a gel manicure last so long; I went over two weeks with absolutely no chips! (I only had to remove it because it grew out. In the past my gel manicures always seemed to peel off after a little more than one week.) I just went back to Orchid Nails today as a walk in and they were busy (definitely call ahead - I thought it would be dead on a Tuesday in the middle of the day but I was wrong) so I made an appointment to come back later. When I arrived the owner informed me that they had had an unforeseen issue earlier in the day (new employee was causing conflict so he sent her home because he likes to keep a friendly and relaxing environment) and that they couldn't see me right then. He told me they could take me in 30 minutes so I ran some errands and came right back. He was very apologetic and gave me 50% off my gel manicure today because they weren't able to see me at the time of my appointment. My manicure today was perfect (Tina was my tech)! Every other manicure I've had at every other salon I have always found issues due to a rushed job, so I am extremely happy to have found Orchid Nails. I have only been twice but have had great experiences both times and it's the only place I will be getting mani/pedis now!! read more

I have been going to another place (Lam's) down the street for about 10 years, but have grown really tired of the noise, lowered quality, and general disarray of the place. I decided to give Orchid a try and this will definitely be my new place for pedicures! Our experience was amazing. The place is super clean, the staff was unbelievably friendly, and they gave a great, extensive foot and calf massage as part of their standard price (unlike Lam's who gives about a 2 minute massage, then asks if you want to pay $5 for an additional 5 minutes). I really like the customer service they provide, the owner is very welcoming. They have pillows to make you more comfortable (but maybe need to clean them/cover them). Today was my first time visiting Orchid Nails and I am so glad that I did! I walked in and was seated right away. I received a Mani+Pedi by Lee - she was absolutely wonderful. Super sweet and did an amazing job on my nails. The environment of the salon is very lovely, relaxing, and clean. Everyone in the salon was very warm and attentive as well. They offer you refreshments and really make you feel pampered. And the prices were not bad at all - $40 for mani+pedi.
