This is my favorite nail salon in the Tri-Cities, and I have tried many! They are professional and do a great job. At most places the massage is terrible or hurts, but these people give great massages! They also have never over trimmed my cuticles so that they sting like many places do. A pain-free experience! The environment is very calm and relaxing too. There is a language barrier, and they do up-charge you for their files and if you pay with a card. Was here about two weeks ago. Went in for simple pedicure and gel manicure and was so disappointed. None of my nails were even, the tech did not get the whole nail on quite a few and missed the tips on most. They used the same pair of cuticle trimmers on my hands as they used on my feet (without cleaning in between). My mom got got a fungal infection on her foot as well. We will not be back. read more

If another person that is "more important" walks in, they stop doing your nails to do that person's. It was ridiculous. I got a shellac/gel manicure on June 28, to celebrate my sister's birthday. By July 4, six days later, my nails were chipped like crazy. I went in July 5, and they were closed through the 6th. My son was sick on the 7th, so I went in on Saturday, the 8th, to get them fixed. I spoke with someone, and he argued with me for five to ten minutes about why it was too late even though they were the ones who were closed. He was going to charge me half price to fix. I'm sorry - they made the mistake - and should have been willing to fix for no charge. I have never had a manicure this bad or for a business not be willing to fix. I think their polishes are old and don't last. This was the second time I have been there, and the first time was mediocre at best. I will not return, celebration or otherwise. read more

I went here with 2 friends and daughter. Each of us had a pretty significant issue. Friend 1-she asked for a flower on her finger, the gentleman replied with a sigh, no time for flower, no. Ummmmm, really. No time, it takes 1 minute and costs 5 dollars. My daughter- they cut her thumb so badly that I questioned whether it needed a stitch. It wouldn't stop bleeding. They kept trying to blot it, but it was too deep. Then they said, no gel nail. Which was fine with me, I figured it would STING! Then I look over and they are painting it! Covering her nail with a mixture of blood and paint! Friend 2-got her toes painted a lighter orange. Received one coat. She asked for a second coat as you could see through the color. She got an eye roll and a very sloppy second coat. The lady said I'll just put jewels over the see through part. Me-I was also cut. Not as badly as my daughter, but still they painted my nails with blood still dripping out of my cuticle. Disgusting. I kept trying to blot and was scolded. Rude and unsanitary! I am on a mission to find a decent nail salon that doesn't break the bank. Here is what I like about Orchid Spa: It is spacious and clean. I haven't had a pedicure yet but the chairs look really nice. I plan on getting one in the near future. Friendly staff and they offer a wide range of services, including wedding packages. Why the ok rating: I've been to Orchid twice to get my lip and eyebrows waxed. I really want to like it better because the woman there tries so hard. She takes her time and it feels like she's doing a thorough job, but I always have to "fix" it afterwards. The waxing/facial room is really nice and clean - I'm just not happy with the final results. I'm hoping to update the rating after I get a pedicure, so for now this rating/review reflects the waxing service. read more

Wow. Where to begin. I brought my friend in for her birthday to get pedicures. A note to anyone business savvy: the Tri Cities area desperately needs cute little day spas. The area is definitely lacking and someone with a good business sense could make a killing. Upon walking in, I informed the girl at the desk that I had a missing toenail from an injury, and asked her if they could do an acrylic. She said they could and it be $7. We were then very rudely "greeted" by our nail techs and told to sit down in the chairs. My tech looked at my missing toenail and examined my foot like it was a foreign object. I explained to her that I was told they would do an acrylic, and she rudely asked me who had said that. I had to point the girl out. In Vietnamese she started yelling at the woman, which they bantered back and forth with. I felt like I had done something wrong. Let me say, I have complete respect for all cultures. However, I think it is extremely rude and unnerving to have a conversation in one's native language while getting a service done. I asked if she was able to do it and she hushed me while still bantering with her co-worker. She looked up at me and said, "Yeah. I do it for $7." Wow. I never was able to relax. She seemed angry during the whole service. She made me sit in an uncomfortable chair to place the acrylic while I had to lift my leg and hold it for her. It looked like she glued a square chicklet (candy gum) piece to my toe and didn't paint it entirely. So the stark white plastic piece showed through. She then told me it wouldn't last and would probably fall off. This, topped with the odd decor - especially the two pond like structures with water that obviously has never been changed and a scum on it that could have held a small animal, I would never recommend to anyone. read more

So my mother and I were on the hunt for a new salon today and found a home! Finding a quality salon isn't only about one specific feature rather a combination of many that come together to form value, service, and overall appeal. We stumbled upon orchid spa on yelp after our first choice was booked up for 3 hours. We both got pedicures and she chose a full set while I ventured to try shellac for the first time on my natural nails after 2 years of acrylic. Our appointment started promptly on time and the pedicures were absolutely amazing! They offer 4 variations (ranging from $20-35) and we both chose 1 of the more expensive choices. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I got white tips and my feet looked and felt beautiful. Now when it came to the nails it was a diff story. The first tech didn't fully remove all the acrylic which left my shellac looking lumpy to say the least. (My mothers full set looked great though) after leaving the salon I realized how dissatisfied I was and promptly returned. The manager patiently listened to my concerns inspected my nails and COMPLETELY redid them free of charge! Even though I had to return for the fix I will definitely be back to Orchid Spa. The salon is clean and relaxing the pedicures unmatched and the customer service overshadows any flaws in skill they may have. Like I said. I was just in town visiting there from Seattle this past weekend Fri & Sat Sept 12th & 13th. I needed to get in for a pedicure and I looked this one up! I am so happy I found it. Many others right around this area got terrible reviews and this place is awesome! It was a clean and nice environment. It was inexpensive $20-40 and you can pick a more expensive treatment within that Rangel the gal that worked on me was very friendly and polite and did a great job with the hot stone massage I paid for. I got a great pedi and extras for $30! It was worth every penny. Their customer service is excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable place. Had the hot stone pedicure with a really good foot massage, but the shellac mani was a bit rushed. I also wanted to mention that my pedi was done by two technicians and my mani by another. I attribute the change of techs to it being so close to closing time, and the staff trying to be as efficient as possible. I have gone to Orchid for many months now. Twee the owner remembers my name, everyone working there is always sweet and I get a consistent dip nail and pedicure. Twee usually does my nails and takes her time and is extremely detail oriented. Not to mention it's never crowded or overly busy, and pricing is definitely right. The man acted like I was ruining his day by coming in. I asked for a full set... when he asked the length I said "pretty short" so he just cut them to my regular nail. I'm confused why anyone would come in to get a full set if they aren't any longer than your own nails. I could have just got a manicure and saved money. So I told another tech and she just told him and he said that's what I asked for and how are they supposed to know how short or long I want? I have known Haan and Amy for 5 years - they were in W. Richland before as the shop owners, now own this shop and it has been a complete step above! This is a very relaxing atmosphere and their friendliness and desire to do a great job add to it all. I seem to take at least 2 hours for my Pedi and Gel nails, but it is well worth it! Lou does a great job and the lady's mother who now works with them does a dynamite leg massage during the pedicure! There isn't a time I visit that they don't ask about my family, my husband and grandkids too! They remember things about you and don't spend the entire time talking, but have a balance of personal service and relationship building! For those who aren't always happy with the waxing, yes, they are patient and wanting to do their best - all you have to do is communicate what your needs are and they are happy to fix things to your satisfaction!
