Tried Order up for the first time today, I had no idea what they served. I was surprised they didn't offer a regular sandwhich, but the BBQ Chicken burger was suggested and it was honestly one of the best "burgers" I've had. I love their breakfast tacos, much better than the Austin taco place across the parking lot ; ) Their salsas are GREAT. Their green is very hot with not a hint of vinegar, and their chipotle is also unique and homemade. Their salsa for chips is very mild but flavorful full of garlic. Their CHIPS are the best in town, homemade, and there queso is REALLY delicious. I usually get a bacon egg, with mushrooms, on a whole wheat tortilla cooked without oil. Really filling! My kids have created a pizza with beans, chorizo, garlic, and cheese. It is made to order and really really good. The chocolate chips cookies are amazing. Rarely order the burgers but they are very good also! We have been coming here since my kids were little, and with a few exceptions the quality has remained very very good. This is one of about 3 restaurants I will drive out of my way to come to. A family favorite. read more

It's a beautiful space, casual, happy and fun looking! It's in Lincoln Heights which is a great location. Unfortunately, the order taker was unfriendly--lacking the personality which the atmosphere seemed to promise. I was there with a friend at dinnertime and there was hardly anyone else there. I got a steak fajita taco which looked good but the steak was so gristly I had to spit out about five bites. We've been Orderup customers for like 10 years. Since back when there was one off Wurzbach, (which was my favorite one) and you'd catch me there at least once a week. This Basse location however, I just have never frequented as much because something was always lacking or changing. I am a chicken lover and their chicken changed over the years and you'd never know which version you were gonna get but now recently it's gone back to juicy and delicious! For awhile there they used some sort of shredded chicken that tasted like it was from a can and I hated it. I'm so happy that my last two trips have been consistently delicious, like the good old days. Def try the superclub chicken sandwich, any of the pizzas, even the breakfast one and the cheese fries. YUM! Oh and of course the chocolate chips cookies have never wavered and have always been thick and delicious. I wish they'd bring back their homemade ice cream someday. We've tried a few types of burgers, tacos, and fries so far (we will have to try the pizza). They were all very good, not huge portions. The chocolate chip cookie was probably oversold on other reviews... I was really disappointed. (That combined with the fact it's a bit pricy is what cost them a star. This is a good place to grab a quick meal in San Antonio. It's a casual place with good food. I ordered the pork taco and it was full of flavor. The chipotle mayo sauce on the taco took it to a new level! They fry their chips in house so naturally they were delicious! A little on the greasy side, but totally worth it for fresh chips! Order Up is a great place to get an affordable, delicious quick meal. The restaurant has a shady outdoor patio which is key in the summer. The new menu includes vegan, gluten free and paleo options. I was happy to see coconut milk ice cream on the menu, finally a place I can get shake. read more

The Good: Great food. I have tried the burgers and fish tacos and love them. The menu has expanded over the past year tremendously. You can now get a "dirty" burger, meaning, a fried egg on the burger. Delicious. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. I get one every time. Fries are an honorable mention also. I am a regular here, but am concerned about its future because of slow service, cleanliness, lack of staff friendliness, the famous cookies not being ready the past couple visits and missing tacos that used to be on the menu and were some of the best tacos in town. I went here with my friend's family. The kids had pizza, chocolate milkshakes, chips/queso and fruit. The adults had the ABC burger, Chicken burger, the MOST AMAZING garlic fries (the yummiest), and sweet potato fries. The chips and queso were meh. Probably perfect for kids -- it was bland for me. But the fries, burger, milkshake, serrano ketchup, and chipotle mayo were awesome. I'll definitely be back--frequently. I've been coming over here for awhile now and I can honestly say that the Avocado Bacon Cheese (ABC) burger is excellent. I'm a burger expert....and In my opinion one of the best for this area. First of all the atmosphere in this restaurant is so open & inviting. The staff was super nice & sweet. I had the Super Nachos & a frozen pink lemonade, & it had my taste buds going crazy. This place is great for a quick fish taco when you're out and about and want a change from the norm. The interior is very clean and the simplistic, definitely not the place to take a date but it is a chill little place a stones throw away from the Quarry. The portobello burger was great, but they've changed their menu quite a bit in the last year or two. They used to have a fantastic veggie burger, but have done away with this. Kids had the grilled cheese and fries meal with a vanilla milkshake. It looked just and was very cheesy. Hubby had the Three Amigos burger and it was YUMMY! I had the Pineapple Express chicken salad. It was good although the chicken is not grilled and it's a relatively small salad. I think it's canned chicken. Wow! We've got a full crew today including four generations, a dairy-free and a gluten-free kid. All r super satisfied! I loved the Tortilla soup with cheese in every spoonful. Orderup made me one tasty burger last night. I ordered the bean burger and expected a patty made of beans. I guess "bean burger" has a different meaning in the land of beef. I bit into the burger and had a Rachel Berry moment ("I've never had meat substitute before that tasted that much like real meat!"). Turns out the beans come on top of a beef burger along with queso, thick tortilla chips and pico de gallo. It was a fantastic flavor combination and one I'll definitely be trying again. I also had a chocolate chip cookie, which was slightly better than OK. Service was friendly and fairly quick. Word to the wise: this place is like a high school cafeteria on Friday nights. If you're allergic to loud shrieks and giggles, then you might want to stop by on a school night. read more

I've been going to Order Up since they opened. I liked the concept of Burgers, Pizza, and Tacos. As a vegetarian, it was nice to have veggie options for all three. Today I walked in, ready to order the veggie tostada tacos (which were pretty tasty) and discovered a complete menu overhaul. It looks like they are going only offer burgers. The food is great, and the menu offers a great variety to keep you coming back for something new. Unfortunately, the counter service for desserts is extremely slow. When I made my comments known about the how slow the order was completed, the counter staff was not very apologetic but rather offered poor excuses about having too many orders to prep. It may have been believable, but the cooks were not making the desserts, a counter person was, and had nothing to do with the orders in the kitchen... Needless to state, the quality of the food is not enough reason to overlook the poor service, too many competitors out there willing to go that little bit extra, to keep customers happy. read more

Sadly the service has started to deteriorate at Order Up. We are huge fans but we told the manager last time we went to the restaurant after having the completely wrong order come out for the 2nd visit in a row...but today we ordered from Favor for home delivery. The service of Favor is wonderful but our order was wrong..,, this is Order Up's fault not he delivery service. The delivery was perfect..,, we were missing a good portion of our order.. same problem as we experienced in person. So Order Up management please take note that something is going on. I love the food, BUT the service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. I go often so its not a random occurrence. It is suppose to be some place quick and easy but it not AT ALL! I often wait 25 mins or more for a salad with grilled chicken. The cashiers are insanely slow and its not the customers holding up the line. You can only go at lunch if you have the day off and can spend over an hour there. Today I waited over 25 mins for my salad and then my boyfriend waited another 10 mins for his burger that was just sitting in the window, getting cold. More than once I have been there when people are getting refunds because they can't wait for the food any longer. read more

I'm pretty sure the only reason I was ok with eating here was because it was free. I've seen this place multiple times and always thought "hey, that place looks cool! I should try it sometime!" And I had always heard good things about it, but alas I was deeply disappointed. I'm not gonna lie though you get a crazy load of food for such a little price which is nice for a change. I ordered the fish tacos because chipotle mayo always turns out to be satisfying and my darling man chose to order the La Bomba burger. A few of the friends we were there with(the funds of the group) got plain burgers which made me think that with a huge selection on that big ol' menu of theirs that they should have chosen something more...unique. The food came out pretty fast which was nice but upon taking that first bite my heart sank. Those three beautiful overloaded fish tacos with their barely there chipotle mayo were sooooo bland :( boo hoo. And My Beau...well... his La Bomba fell to pieces. Neither of us were the least bit impressed. When you walk in it's nice, almost like a 5 guys with flimsy fold up tables and chairs. I used to LOVE Order Up! Last time I went, Cashier...wow, just stood there looking at me, no greeting, no, may I help you, really wanted to turn around and leave but I was with other people. Order my usual Surfer tuna in lettuce wrap...only no tuna was in it, didn't even bother to return it, why? if they cook/expediter didn't care, why should I?
