We always come to this oreganos since it's close to our home but tonight we were served by this gal named Sara P and it was honestly the best service we have had in a while. Our server was nice and she actually was able to answer all of our questions that we had for her about things on the menu and she had a great attitude, the food was good our pizza and wings had good flavor, the fried raviolis were crispy but had a bunch of oil on them, there salads are huge and can feed 3-4 people and we actually talked about how cool the place was decorated inside and how the location used to be an inn a long time ago. The reason for the 3 stars is when I took my 9 month old son to the restroom to be changed there was no changing table in the bathroom. I litterly had to walk out to our car and change my son's diaper. Good thing that it was not super hot outside but then I noticed there were a ton of other families with babies at the restaurant and either they didn't change their kids diapers or changed them where they could. We could not understand why there was not a baby changing station in the restroom. I even asked my husband if there was a changing station in his restroom and he let me know there was not. So in the future if we come here again I'll have to remember there is no changing stations. read more

Update: we ordered pizza delivery tonight. It's usually good, not sure what happened. We ordered a numero-one-o thin crust pizza. The crust is burnt to the point is black and crumbling. This local favorite was empty one day we went, and packed to the gills the following day. Our child liked it so much she requested to go again two days in a row. The prices are very reasonable, portion sizes are huge, and service is good. Great food and atmosphere This is a really popular restaurant - even though it was mid-week, there was a queue for a table. We managed to get a seat at the bar immediately and even though it was busy our food came out really quickly. My husband and I ordered the mac n' cheese and the roasted Brussels sprouts to share - both were delicious, super tasty and very reasonably priced. Oregano's in Cave Creek used to be our favorite haunt. This last year we've gone several times and had a disappointing food experience. Our pizza and the person next to us, their pizza, had no sauce or cheese... Mentioned it to the waitress and she said, that she would bring out sauce that we could dip our pizza in... that totally defeats the purpose. Anyway, there's just too many choices in this area for restaurants, and the competition will hopefully help some of these restaurants improve. read more

First of all we love Oregano's and probably order takeout at least once a month. I got to say though I'm more than a little frustrated with what has been a steady decline in their service over the past year. The employees there seem to get less and less professional and not surprisingly the faces are new every time I go back. My advice if you are ordering takeout: - Call at least 60 mins before you want to pick up your food. It's not uncommon to be quoted 75-90 min waits. - Check your items before leaving. Although they will go thru everything before bagging it up we've gotten home with the wrong items a few times. - Finally, don't bother showing up early for your pickup. I routinely wait 5-15 mins past the quoted time and have never left early. All this being said the food is outstanding and once you start eating you should be very happy with your choice. read more

My wife and I are new to the community. We drove by this place several times and it was always packed with cars (a good sign). We decided to go there for dinner and we figured out why it was so popular. The menu is very large with lots of great choices. The food (we both had pasta) was absolutely delicious (the desert was also awesome!). The prices are also very reasonable. Even better was the friendly staff and outstanding service. We were very fortunate to have a very nice and friendly young lady named Sydney wait on us. Not only did she provide us with exceptional service, but she guided us through the menu (she nailed it with her recommendations) and was kind enough to educate my wife and me about this wonderful community and the great people who live here. Waste of $23 for an entree. We've eaten at this specific location several times and everything has been great besides the Big Rig Pasta. Every other location gets the sauce right, the only dish I have is the Big Rig and the sauce is always runny and lacks flavor. I haven't been here in such a long time that I forgot there could be a wait. I got there a few minutes ahead of my friends and found out there was a 30 minute wait. I put our names in and waited for their arrival. We decided to wait it out. Customers and staff are wearing their masks. The menu is smaller than I remembered making the choice a bit easier. My friend and I had fried calamari and my other friend had the Pablo Picasso salad. If you have not been here before, their salads can be shared by others. The salads are huge. The food came quickly. I don't typically order deep-fried food. I have to say that this fried calamari was delicious. It comes with a marinara sauce or you can change the sauce if you desire. I HAVE to come to Oregano's every time I come to Phoenix. This local chain is one of my favorite spots. Many many of their dishes are delicious, but my TOP two are the Alfredo the Dark and the Big Beef Bistro salad - mmm hungry just thinking about them! The servers and overall customer service at all Oregano's is always very friendly, helpful and cheery. ALL dishes are 1.5-2x normal portions so you can definitely share (or not and take it home to eat again!). The Alfredo and Beef Bistro both have a spicy kick to them which I love; and its not an overwhelming spice. read more

Very interesting establishment and it grabbed my attention. This unique hideway is nestled in Cave Creek, Arizona. Upon walking in, the walls, the ceiling, all grab your attention. Filled with unique past era memorabilia. Some memorabilia, your grandparents may remember. We ordered the calamari, the broccoli, and the 6 piece shrimp to start. The calamari was okay, it was delivered in thick long slices overly breaded and served with a sauce reminiscent of a thickened Italian pasta sauce. This appetizer will not be, on my to-eat again list. Having it served in slices, versus the rings, really changed the experience. As well, Calamari just does not go well, in my opinion with a thick Italian pasta sauce dip. It pulls this dish into memories of a pizza shop fast food appetizer. The shrimp was amazing as was the broccoli, all perfectly seasoned. The shrimp were each abundant, this dish, could be a meal in its own. Just amazing. For my entree, I chose the Antipasta salad, which was very authentic with its flavors and the plate, the plate and the serving was huge. Definitely having left overs for a couple of days. This plate could feed at least four people easily. Really happy with this dish. The service was really great, engaging and on point. They were very helpful and were wearing masks. Lots of laughs. My only downside to this evening, was the Calamari. Too heavily breaded and cut into fingers sticks, served with a thickened pasta sauce dip. The side dip on Calamari should be a nice fresh cocktail sauce with fresh, horseradish sauce and lemon. Calamari is meant to be light and fresh, not bogged down in breading. To finish the evening we had the Original Pizza Cookie. To die for. We did not dare eat the entire portion, it was so decadent and so filling. And this was with two people sharing this dish. The overall experience was really nice, the conversations drifted from one to another, the ambiance kept your attention. All, in all - we had a great experience. read more

What has happened to Oreganos? New manager/ new waitstaff? Whatever it is....its not good. My mom and I went there instead of Lou Malnatis, which is my old tried and true. The waitress was pleasant enough- when we saw her, couldn't tell you her name, because she never introduced herself. Our drinks were never refilled (ice tea and water), and our order got messed up. The salad was good, and the guaca- tony, but the pizza we have no idea because she brought it boxed up- guess we will find out when we get home. We had also wanted dessert; however the girl came to drop the bill without asking if we were finished- SO we had to wait till she came back for payment before ordering . I've driven past Oreganos here many times wanting to try this place. Finally get my family out for dinner here on a Monday night. When we arrived the hostess said about 15 minute wait, which we didn't think was too bad. Ended up being about 25 minutes. We got taken to our seats with children around the bar area. Right away was served water and hostess said someone would be with us shortly. Waited about 20 minutes sitting there and no one came so we left. Not sure if service is like this all the time but they're not getting another chance from us. We decided to go down the road to MOD pizza which if we hadn't, we probably would have been waiting for our drinks and food at Oreganos. read more

It's hard to leave a comprehensive star number because the service began horribly but ultimately ended well. The bad news first--we waited 20 minutes before our server (Megan) even approached our table to greet us (without water). This despite us asking the hostess twice to send a waitress over. We requested water and immediately placed our orders for an Oreganos favorite salad and two entrees. We then waited another 30 minutes with no sign of our food or our waitress. Finally, frustrated and hungry after waiting for almost an hour with no food and no sign off our waitress, I went in search of a manager to complain about the (lack of) service. This is where the story and the review begin to turn around. The manager (Ruby) was great. She immediately apologized for the poor service we'd received this far and checked on our order. She promptly came out with our salad--again full of apologies. Ironically, Megan (who we had only seen once in the hour we sat waiting finally popped by to check on how our salad was tasting that her manager was kind enough to bring to us in her absence. No apologies for the delay in getting our salad or explanation for where she'd been the entire time we were waiting). The rest of the meal followed promptly (brought again by Manager Ruby). Ruby continued to apologize for the service issues (Megan never did) and comped our entire meal. Ruby continued to check on us throughout the remainder of our visit-- with a smile, some jokes and a pleasant demeanor throughout. Her customer service was excellent! When we finished, we tried to tip Ruby (no tip for Megan as her really poor "service" didn't warrant any). We did, however, want to show our appreciation to Ruby for her excellent service and since she was the only person who actually assisted us. Ruby refused the tip explaining that she couldn't accept tips as a manager. Instead, she simply asked that we come back again or leave a positive review. We are happy to do both. Understandably, things happen and sometimes the food is slow or a waitress is bad but Ruby's excellent service and pleasant demeanor turned the entire experience around. As a result, instead of the scathing 1 star review that we might have been inclined to leave, we walked out with a smile and I promptly wrote this review instead. Ruby was 5 star but I did deduct 1 star because of the way the experience began. Despite the bumpy beginning, I would recommend the restaurant. read more

Honestly pretty disappointed from my recent visit at this location. We usually love Oregano's and it's such a classic with some amazing food. I truly dislike giving bad reviews but we had such a poor recent experience. When we first walked in, the hostess said only one person could go to the bar at a time because the bar tender was pregnant. Never, ever, have been told something like this before. Odd, but we followed the rules and they were strictly enforcing it because "they didn't want her too overwhelmed". I get it, COVID just a very strange request to tell customers when they first walk in. Finally got to our table and ordered drinks and appetizers. What we ordered came out one by one and with about 10-15 minutes in between plates. We had a larger party so it just made it awkward only have one appetizer at a time. I strongly advise against ordering the fried calamari. It was very tough, chewy, and not your standard calamari. However, the boom dip was out of this world and I couldn't recommend a better appetizer!!! Shortly after receiving out appetizers, we placed orders for some pizza's. 1.5 hours later the pizza's finally came out. By no means were they busy as we were the only ones on the patio and there were a few tables inside. Not sure if they were having a bad night, short staffed, but this wasn't a typical experience for an Oregano's and we were all quite upset. Our server though was great, she kept trying her best because her buss staff wasn't clearing our table, refilling drinks, etc she was all on her own. Everything else was out of her control so her service was phenomenal and she was very friendly. You really can't go wrong here! I have yet to have any food item that is not good. The portions are large. Even the calamari is very meaty and a wonderful breading with a hearty marinara sauce. I mean, they do want to legalize marinara per their shirts There are so many favorites here from drinks to food. The Bellini is a must every time I visit. Although this last visit I seen they were doing a 20% donation of proceeds on any Four Peaks beer purchase, that's very generous. The atmosphere for this location is wonderful as well. Outside seating which is dog friendly, and a little outside the city life. I am soooo happy they are taking reservations now through Yelp. Can you say bonus and 5 Star worthy! read more
