This restaurant is very Italian, and I love it. I recommend the pine top ravioli, the rolls are huge! Speaking of huge, you should try the antipasto salad. The plate is as big as your fore-arm. We hadn't been here for a while..decided to try it again. It was totally burnt, the worst pizza ever. Two pizza and they both were horrible. It wasn't even edible. How could they let a pizza like that out of the kitchen? I don't mind paying a high price to get good pizza but this place has gone down hill if you ask me. Food: Oregano's has always been a favorite of mine. Their pan pizza and pizookie is AMAZING. On this latest trip, I ordered the turkey sub and the waitress was nice and accommodating when I wanted to sub out all the veggies for spinach and sun dried tomatoes and get a side of pesto. The sandwich was baked first and then the veggies were added so it wasn't super warm all together, which is the only reason this review isn't a 5 Venue: A classic family-friendly, welcoming, Italian style restaurant. Sort of a cross between Buca di Beppo and Olive Garden. Service: Our server was Kevin and Kendall, who was training in on her second day/first table! Kevin was just the right amount of attentive, while also letting Kendall learn and manage us. Kendall was very nice and on top of things; I never would have known it was her first table! Incredible pizza, 3 days in a row. I don't hand out 5-star rating easily. I like food, and I judge my food. My wife and I have been meaning to stop here for over a year, since her parents live in Cave Creek. We did the other day and will be back. We ordered a 12", pan pizza with pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and grilled chicken. The pizza did take a while to come out, but the waiter warned us it would, so we added some boneless chicken wings to sate our hunger. The wings were good, as wings should be, nothing to write home about. The pizza, though, it came out hot and smelled great. The waiter cut and served for us, which I didn't expect. My wife and I could only eat one piece each, which is not normal... but the slices were thick. Amazing taste. We took the rest home and had the other 4 slices for lunch the following two days, reheating in the oven. Each time was perfect. I highly recommend Oregano's. This was a great experience at Oregano's. We sat outside a mild 75* F the heat lamps were on and the service was great. This location has a nice patio you can watch the sunset and indulge in pasta and pizza. We ordered the Oreganos salad and the Ziti pasta bowl with marinara sauce and chicken instead of the beef/pork sauce. The salad came out quickly and was awesome. Great combination of leafs and other veggies including the added chicken. It was a huge portion that we split between two adults and everybody was happy. We should have ended the meal there. Not only was the "bread bowl" made from pizza dough a rather unflavored mix of water and flower, but we also over ate and everyone felt rather uncomfortable after. Things started out well, our waitress was friendly and attentive to our kids giving them some dough to play with. My family wanted deep dish pizza and she warned us that it would take 45-55 minutes which I knew was a bad idea with kids so I requested that their pizza by the slice and wings be brought out ASAP. The wings eventually showed up but the kids pizza slices did not, by the time the deep dish pizza came out (close to an hour later) I they were over it and we needed to leave. That simple request could've gone a long way. There's an area outside where kids can play but don't let your guard down with little ones because their fence is broken and right next to the fence there's a large gap where they could run right into the busy road. A deep dish pizza should have hearty toppings but instead the 3 toppings I ordered were lost inside the pizza, as expensive as toppings are it was disappointing. I thought my kids thin pizza that they didn't eat was a lot more appetizing, the Wisconsin cheese they use is actually really tasty and is the one stand out thing Oregano's has going for themselves. The bill ended up being $100 which seems crazy for 2 deep dishes w/ toppings, wings, 2 kids meals and a few non alcoholic beverages. Of all the options in Cave Creek, it's hard to review how bad this specific Oregano's is. Between the entitled employees and put-off service, you'd likely have a better experience sitting on a bed of cholla while burning money over a campfire. Not sure why the employees come to work they're so miserable. My family and I have regularly attempted to give this place multiple chances, to be clear our expectations are not high. This place is simply the worst...unfortunately you can't offer less than one star. read more

Terrible service. Had to wait to be seated because 2 employees talking to each other instead of seating us. Waited 15 mins to get waitress to come over to us to get drink order. Then ordered our lunch and ord Caesar salad as an app. At least 30 mins later we asked where is our salad and waitress replied, "the salad maker is so busy making so many salads." She said the pizza maker is not busy but salad maker is very busy! Mind you, I think there were only 4 other tables that were full. Then she asked if we wanted her to bring our food as it got done because food was not going to be done at the same time. Guess what got done first?? The pizza that she told us would take the longest! If I could give this place zero stars I would. Now, the service here is always AWFUL. But the food usually makes up for it. Not this time. It was clear our waitress who was also the bar tender couldn't be bothered to check on us or our food. We waited an hour for food and was told the "kitchen was backed up" but the larger party next to us that was sat and ordered AFTER we were got their food within 15 minutes. It was clear that our food was sitting under the heating lamps. It was dry and disgusting. No apologies from the management and nothing but excuses. The finally offered us 15% off our bill after we complained a third time about the food and service, but also offered the table next to us 20% off (they're basically one table so you can hear everything each other is saying). We will never eat here again. It's no wonder they have 3 stars. Stay far away. read more

Not sure how Oregano's will survive with only 6 open tables for service. They need to open fully to be worth the wait. All outside seating is closed off...entire bar closed.... half of restaurant closed. With only 350 people in ICU due to COVID 19 and 4 million residents in Maricopa County, Oreganos needs to open instead of wasting time for those who want to dine. Servers are great and need income. Oreganos never fails to disappoint -- delicious food at reasonable prices and a cozy,rustic location on the outskirts of Cave Creek. My wife and I have always had quick and friendly service, especially when served by RICARDO. We have been served by him on our last three visits and he has taken bread and circus to a new level. This is the second time we have ordered take out from Oregano's in Cave Creek. It was even better than I remember. We tries several pizza places in the area and this is by far our favorite. This time we shared several menu items family style. We got the Oregano's favorite salad, which came with a large portion of garlic bread and dressing on the side. It was super flavorful with lots of fresh ingredients. The chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had. They were large and had a light breading. They came with home made potato chips and sauce of your choice. We got the medium sauce on the side. It was a perfect medium heat sauce with a little peppery flavor. The Chicago pan pizza was the closest to a traditional Chicago deep dish pizza we've had outside of the Midwest. We got it with mushrooms and sausage. The crust was crispy and not too dense. Lastly, we got the big rig pasta. This was the only slight disappointment. The flavor was great, but it was slightly dry and could have used some more sauce. Otherwise, everything we ordered was fantastic. We were so surprised to see all of the negative reviews, but in looking at them it appears to be due to wait times, service, and timing of food. My husband and I have been fans of Oregano's for years. Unfortunately last night's pizza was not good. Pizza was bland, had too much sauce and the pepperoni is different (thinner and not good quality). I want to give a very positive review for this restaurant. First of all, the food is fantastic. We had an unfortunate incident happen with a delivery from DoorDash. I won't go into details but long story short, we at first blamed Oregano's because the DoorDash driver pretty much blamed it on them. Turns out from what I know, it looks like it was 100% the fault of DoorDash. Anyway, this morning I received a phone call from Keith, the General Manager. He was very professional and apologized and made everything more than right. Mistakes happen but it's good to know that there are local companies who still care about their customers. We went tonight as a family. Our server seemed like she was in a bad mood from the start. She did promptly get our drink orders but that's about all she did. I told her we wanted to order everything right away and to have the food brought out as it's ready because we had 3 young kids and we know how long they'll last in a restaurant. She warned us the pizza would take a while. I said ok. She left and never came back to check on us. She didn't offer the dough for my kids to play with - I had to go ask the hostess (who by the way was super nice and helpful!!!) Two tables sat after us and their apps came out before ours did and their server checked on them multiple times. Our server finally came to tell us our food would be out in a minute and EVERYTHING was brought out together with the exception of the pizza. The app and salad even came out with our meal. The pizza came out shortly after. The pizza was good but everything else seemed like it had been sitting. The toasted ravioli was soggy. Our pasta and meatballs looked dried out. My kids' pasta was dry. The salad was drenched in dressing and soggy. As soon as the pizza came out we asked for boxes. She brought them and the check and never checked on us again. Of I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. We sat down at 1:30 for lunch. We ordered at 1:50 and at 2:45 food finally arrived at the table. ICE COLD and not what we ordered. The pizza (thin crust) was actually still doughy and there was water under the crust (between the crust and pizza pan). My Bowl-O-Pasta was iced cold. Literally like someone had placed it in the fridge. The manager came over to see how our meal was. She did offer to make us another pizza; but by this time we simply had no more time to wait. We had plans that we were already late for. She comped our meals as we didn't eat anything. We gave our server a tip and left. I've been going to Oreganos for over 20 years. This is my very first bad experience. Prior to this it's been nothing but great service and consistently great food. I write this in hopes the corporate office sees this and establishes changes that return this one specific location back into the great place it could be. If you are coming here for a quick dinner...move on. And...that is a GOOD thing. We have eaten here twice in the past month, and last night's experience with Amber our server was absolutely great. What started out as a rocky seating outside on the cool patio (we weren't dressed for the cooler evening weather, no biggie) was quickly turned around with Amber's wit and super service. She got us a propane heater and had one of the quick busser's (sorry dude, didn't catch your name) light and position it right between us. Impressive. We ordered drinks, and had casual conversation while our calamari appetizer arrived. Amber was candid about the business level (very busy), and told us to order right away, which we did. I ordered the Italian Flag Lasagna, and she again confided that it was a freshly baked item, taking twenty minutes. No worries, we were here to relax and enjoy family time. One of our drinks was delivered incorrectly with bourbon instead of vodka...no problem, Amber whipped into action and had my wife's blood pressure medication back to our table in no time. Our meals arrived, and another kind gentleman sprinkled freshly grated parmesan cheese on our food. Nice touch. Dad enjoyed the spaghetti and meatballs, my wife had a beautifully crafted meatball sandwich, and I enjoyed the fruits of my menu labor with the lasagna. This dish was truly exceptional. The fresh tomatoes burst from fork to mouth, each bite a symphony of perfectly prepared pasta and ground meats, ricotta cheese...just fantastic. You can tell this item was prepared with pride...I will order this again. We were having such a good time that we decided to enjoy dessert. Whats that you say??? A PIZZA COOKIE? Yep, we will have that. Melt in your mouth cookie dough with cool scoops of vanilla ice cream topped off with a sprinkling of tiny chocolate chips. This dessert is illegal in four states, so order carefully after checking with your local law enforcement! So damn good!!! We have been here 3 times. Once for take out. We were told it would be 90 mins. My hubby went to pick up our order and had to wait an additional 30-40 mins. He spoke to a manager and all he got was a "SORRY" $52 for 2 pizzas. We recently went to dine in for pizza. I ordered fried zucchini and hubby ordered wings. I told our server we will order our pizza so we can eat our apps while we wait for the pizza. Well that didn't happen. Everything came out at once. Ridiculous! This place has time management issues. I also asked for hot sauce. I was brought a bottle that was pretty much empty. Our serve said the manager is looking for a new bottle. Well that never happened. Maybe he is still looking? We want to like supporting in town businesses. I hope our next experience is a little better. I will make sure I tell the server twice we want our apps before our entree. While we were waiting for our food, the last time we were there which was last week, the weight was extraordinarily long. I think we should've gotten our impostors because the bottom of our pizza was burnt. Our server was cognizant of this and we didn't even have to say a word, and one of the pizza chefs came out and talk to us and gave us a 20% off our entire bill. The ineptitude of the cooks in the back to the hostess all the way to the manager can't seem to conjure up an explanation as to why an order of 2 sandwiches, an order of wings, and a salad took over an hour.
