I go only with the chicken, green chilies, jalapeño ranch dressing and peppers. The rest I skipped. They slice the sandwich the right way, and man, it's damn good. People are very friendly. My wife always goes with the Southwest Chicken salad. She raves about it all the time. And she's a picky salad eater. Pricing is good, way lower than Baggins. Tastes better too. read more

Had lunch here today around 1:00pm. There were about four people in line in front of us, but the line was moving fairly quickly. There is just one line for ordering and then you seat yourself. They have a four or five tables inside and then some outside. It was a nice day so we sat outside. Hopefully they have umbrellas for the summer months. The gentleman that took our order was quite friendly and our sandwiches were out in under 10 minutes. They have a nice selection of meats, breads , and salads. We both chose the cranberry turkey sandwich and it was delicious. Mine was on fresh sourdough with a generous amount of turkey and fresh veggies. Two 6 inch sized sandwiches came to a little over $24. They do a surcharge if you use a credit card which I will avoid next time by using cash. Yes, it's easily upwards of $17-$18 per sandwich... including tax with two sandwiches that'll be very close to $40. When you charge for things like BUTTER obviously it starts stacking up. The generic: I was hoping for a new locally made sandwich shop...I found another corporate franchisee overwhelmed by Scottsdales clientele. I met some friends for lunch today. We ordered salads and clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. It was a wonderful day out so we chose an outdoor table. It was actually very warm in the sunshine. Staff are very nice and after we ordered they told us they would take our food to the table. On our menu was Southwest salad with chicken, Chef's salad and clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. We grabbed napkins and a table outside. Service was quick and came with plastic utensils. The food was good and fresh. The clam chowder brought back memories of San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf chowder in a sourdough bowl. In fact, I asked the employee where the sourdough was from and she confirmed it was from California. The bread was warm and crusty. It was perfect for dipping into the very hot soup. So, this is a fast-casual chain restaurant. The food is decent, especially with sourdough bread being a part of almost every meal. I don't usually review chains, yet I wanted to give a shout out to Leo who took our order and took time to check on us. He was very helpful and outgoing, and really was 5-star. Just a treat! We stopped here for a late lunch while house hunting in Northern Scottsdale and so happy we did! The French Dip was absolutely delicious, the macaroni and cheese were very tasty, and my daughter had the chicken Caesar salad that she thoroughly enjoyed. On top of the great food, the staff were very friendly. They welcomed us when we walked through the doors and were friendly throughout our visit. We're marking it as a favorite on our map. While watching an employee making sandwiches, a customer asked for a rag to clean off a table, the employee turned around grabbed the cleaning solution bottle and a dirty rag and gave it to him, without changing his gloves, proceeded to go back to putting spread on a sandwich... the customer came back, handed him the bottle and a now even dirtier rag, the same employee grabbed them and put them back, then proceeded to grab a handful of meat and put it on the sandwich, WITH THE SAME DIRTY GLOVES ON!! 10/10 will never eat here again. They will bake it for you in just a few minutes so I can see picking these up often. The Italian sub was not so good. Let me say that I love mustard. That is all I use on my hotdogs unless I order a Chicago dog. However, there was sooooo much mustard on this Italian 8 inch sub it was barely edible. They really need customer service training. At least once a week we stop for lunch or dinner to go. Placed order in store for "to go" name "BOB". After about 20 minutes I inquired and was told "ROB" picked up the order, I said I was not ROB but BOB; after lengthy discussion behind counter I was told the order was in fact picked up by "Rob". They offered to remake the order but we were committed to another appointment, I expressed displeasure and left...on the way out the person delivering to go orders says "..hey, not our fault" ok whose then? MINE?? Nearly every establishment when delivering to go orders repeats the contents when handing it out...avoids this kind of situation. More than an understandable mishap this is an ATTITUDE issue. Tried World of Sourdough for the first time today. Sandwiches were excellent, will definitely go back!

This was my fourth time visiting this particular World of Sourdough after they opened a few weeks ago. Up until today, I have not had any issues at all with this store. I made the mistake of placing my first "online order" today. After placing the order and paying for it online, I proceeded to arrive at the store promptly 30 minutes later (as stated it would be ready when I placed the order). When I told them I was there to pick up my order, my sandwich was ready, but they said "we don't have any chili today" as they tried to hand me the bag (as if it was a done transaction). I asked if they were going to refund my money for the chili I paid for and I received a, "we would have to void the entire order" as an answer. I then asked, "why didn't you call me after I placed the order if you couldn't fulfill my order?" The unapologetic answer I received was, "we are busy." As they surely knew, I did not find that to be an appropriate answer, so they then offered to substitute (after I asked for the chili refund) with chips, soup, or mac and cheese. I didn't desire any substitute but settled for the mac and cheese as they wouldn't refund my money for the chili. The food was good hence my "OK" rating. I will eat here again but will never use the online ordering convenience (or inconvenience) at this store ever again. read more
