I loved Sourdough & Co. I was so happy to stop by and try this new business. It is located near Target so there is plenty of parking available. We ordered at the counter and my mom and I both got the turkey cranberry sandwich. It was so delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is not too much seating available inside but we were able to find a spot outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cashier was super happy to help us and take our order and added to the great experience at Sourdough & Co.

Very disappointing. Smallest sandwich ever. See pic below. Ordered the 6 inch French dip. $13.00 plus 1.05 tax , plus .42 CC surcharge =$14.46 Before I got my highly anticipated sandwich the credit card machine asked for a tip, so I added 2.00 = $16.46 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Smallest sandwich ever. And they were busy to boot. Never again will I see this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] James, your excuse that "it is a sliced baguette" somehow justifies the size and cost/value of the sandwich is absurd.

Was in the mood for a sandwich. Decided to give this place a shot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small establishment, but we had a table to eat at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was a great sandwich. I would go back again. I don't like bland sandwich's like jimmy john, etc... they also had soups, but I didn't try any.

Items made completely wrong even though the receipt is very clear. No chicken on the Caesar salad. Greek salad completely incorrect - they did not listen to any directions. I could not even eat it since they put tomatoes onions and also ham instead of chicken.

We were looking for the next best super sandwich location. Almost found it here. The good: flavorful and delicious turkey provolone choice. The generic: I was hoping for a new locally made sandwich shop...I found another corporate franchisee overwhelmed by Scottsdales clientele. This is pretty much a Jersey Mikes clone...sans slicer and "Mikes Way." Not bad, but no local flavor. Gentrified packaging and atmosphere. Friendly staff which can be a rarity in Scottsdale, and our dining area was very clean. Really good beer, just not 5 star greatness.

I met some friends for lunch today. We ordered salads and clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. It was a wonderful day out so we chose an outdoor table. It was actually very warm in the sunshine. Staff are very nice and after we ordered they told us they would take our food to the table. On our menu was Southwest salad with chicken, Chef's salad and clam chowder in a sourdough bowl. We grabbed napkins and a table outside. Service was quick and came with plastic utensils. The food was good and fresh. The clam chowder brought back memories of San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf chowder in a sourdough bowl. In fact, I asked the employee where the sourdough was from and she confirmed it was from California. The bread was warm and crusty. It was perfect for dipping into the very hot soup. Do be careful as the soup was boiling hot. We got caught up on the happenings and all bid adieu. Shared parking lot and Cox WiFi for subscribers.

I recently tried out the new sandwich place, it was great. I ordered the Italian sandwich with chips. I really enjoyed it especially the bread. I highly recommend going to try it even the cookies were incredible. I will definitely be back very soon.

4in turkey cranberry sandwich and a 6in French dip.

Second visit to this establishment, first time was at the pinnacle peak location and after that experience I should have known better. For $25 what is pictured below is what you get 2 small mediocre sandwich's that fall apart after taking a bite. Very disappointing.

    The Italian 4", warmed up

The first time I stopped in for a glass of wine just to check it out -- they were about to close, but the staff was so kind and welcoming. I even saw a roadrunner on the patio, which honestly felt like the perfect Arizona welcome moment I went back yesterday after a 4-mile hike at Jewel of Cave Creek and had a turkey, avocado, and bacon sandwich with chips -- simple but absolutely delicious. Fresh, satisfying, and exactly what I needed after being out on the trails. Prices are very reasonable too. The vibe here is what makes it special. It's busy but relaxed, cozy but open, and you order at the counter which keeps everything easy and casual. They offer coffee, wine, pastries, sandwiches, salads, and more -- perfect for a quick bite or a chill afternoon. I especially love the setting surrounded by the little Cave Creek shops. It has such a peaceful, welcoming energy and is a great spot to sit outside, enjoy lunch, and soak in the Arizona sunshine. Whether you're hiking nearby or just exploring the area, this is a wonderful place to stop. I'll definitely be back

While some seats were available, it was a very warm day, and I couldn't manage sitting in the sun, as the one umbrella I saw wasn't opened, so we went back inside to see if any bar seating had opened, and fortunately for us, a couple of chairs at the bar were now available. It's super comfortable sitting at the bar here, with a nice open-air view across the bar to the outside patio area. The service was friendly, and the happy hour menu is plentiful. We were here for the food today, and there is no shortage of options at (by today's standards) pretty reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. And if you come at other than peak hours, you can even get happy hour in the main dining room and patio, so we hope to give that a try! We ordered three items: handcrafted meatballs with San Marzano sauce ($10) and rigatoni with pulled chicken ($12) from the happy hour menu and the half Tomaso's Sicilian salad from the regular menu (essentially a happy hour price at only $8). All of it was delicious, but the standout was the salad, which my wife said was even better than the salad she orders when we visit Little Italy in San Diego. That's a huge compliment! The atmosphere isn't quiet, but they didn't have super loud, blaring music when we were there, which was welcome. It's essentially a square dining room with a bar on the side. While the bar patio on the north side of the building isn't much and isn't shaded unless you score a spot with the umbrella or come at a time of day when the building blocks the sun, the main patio is nicely covered and shaded at all times. We look forward very much to coming here again and trying other items they offer, especially the pizzas. It's nice to have another dining option in this part of town. :)

My biggest concern is the pricing. Even compared with other restaurants in Scottsdale, the menu is noticeably more expensive. For example, the cannoli is $12, while many other Italian restaurants in the area charge around $6. The Caprese salad is $17, which is at least $4 more than what you'll typically pay at other Scottsdale restaurants. The food is good, but the prices make it hard to justify coming back regularly when there are comparable options nearby that offer similar quality for significantly less. I hope they reconsider their pricing because the staff and overall experience deserve a menu that's more competitively priced.

They were dealing with a very large party (with a lot of confusion) behind us, so it was clear both the servers and kitchen staff were stretched thin. I'm not sure if it's a newer addition based on the reviews, but the spot is decorated beautifully. With decor, games, a solid color scheme and a variety of menu options, it's truly an inviting standout in Carefree! Our food was just fine (I think they're aiming for elevated bar food), and our drinks were alright. I'm not sure my smoked old fashioned was prepared correctly but it happens. However, for the experience I left feeling I'd severely overpaid. Additionally, the company was questionable. A gentleman walked around the venue with a dog and a frown, a man came in barefoot to pick up an order, and I witnessed a non employee (or off shift employee?) sneak behind the bar several times. There seems to be a speakeasy medspa behind a painting, but we didn't get the details. This spot has the potential to be a total standout! A mixologist with a solid craft cocktail menu and execution, a menu rethink, and maybe some event programming and this spot could certainly be a home run! If I revisit, I'd be beyond delighted to see they've grown into their potential! Best of luck to these folks!

A Shoutout to Cindy & a New Neighborhood Favorite!…read more We just got back from lunch at Tox Bar/Speedy Burger in Carefree, and what a treat it was! To our delight, Cindy--yes, the Cindy many of us have known and loved for years--was there bartending and serving with the same warm smile and stellar service she's always been known for. This time, though, she's doing it at a place that offers great food, a fun and cozy ambience, and a dog-friendly patio--a rare combo that's hard to beat. Let's face it: dining out isn't as affordable as it once was. But as I told Cindy, I don't mind paying for quality food and excellent service--and that's exactly what you'll get at Tox Bar/Speedy Burger. For years, we were loyal regulars at Brisam's, visiting twice a week. But over time, prices soared, food quality declined, and the atmosphere never improved. The space started to feel tired and neglected. Sadly, the lack of connection from ownership didn't help--unless you were a former mayor or someone "important," you likely didn't get a second glance. Let's be honest: Cindy carried Brisam's for 18 years. Her genuine care for customers was the reason many of us kept going back. Now that she's moved on, it's no surprise to see the shift. So here's my suggestion: support a place that supports its people and customers. Tox Bar/Speedy Burger is that place. Stop by on Sundays or Tuesdays this summer to see Cindy in action. Come fall, I predict it'll be wall-to-wall locals enjoying everything this gem has to offer. Let's spread the word and give our support where it's truly deserved.
