I give Oregano's a 3/5 for food alone and a bonus .5 for overall value. Portions are big and the prices are very reasonable. Since my "go to" Italian entree is chicken parm, I went for it. But overall I'd have to say that the pasta, sauce, and breaded chicken we're light on flavor. My eldest son got the Bollo pasta and added 2 sausages for $3.99. I tried it. These GIANT sausages were hot Italian with a strong fennel flavor--very good. My other son got the pasta and added 2 meatballs, also very good. Oreganos was an experience unlike any other! We chose to sit near the Patio since it was such a nice day out. Izzy was on top of us the moment we came. He tended to our every need and made sure our drinks were always filled! Not only was he so attentive, he took the time to chat with us a bit after we finished as we are here on vacation and wanted more recommendations! It's that time again, to give a 5 star review! And for all the ken and karen's out there giving crappy reviews, too bad for you. There is a reason that Oregano's gets a 5 star review. I've eaten at Oregano's from all over the U.S. and it is consistently great. I also know how to make pizza...really incredible pizza that is better than 95% of the all pizza makers out there. Oregano's has me beat and that is because of one thing, that incredible, joyful buttery crust. Yes, buttery; an incredibly difficult taste to create, one that I still cannot get to unless I dip my pizza in hot butter, which is great by the way. The salads and dressings are superlative to most others. When you get a salad that has weight, you know you have something. So for all the crybabies, so sorry you didn't have the patience or time time enjoy good food. No, great food! And good food does come with a price, but when everything now costs 2.5 x's what it once did, you'll be loving Oregano's that much more, so save up. Oregano's has for many years one of my go-to places. Last night I was disappointed for the first time. My stuffed vegetable sandwich seemed quite skimpy on the cheese, especially. And it woulod have been good for the server to tell me that choosing sweet potato fries was an extra cost. For the others in our part, the medium wings (medium usually fine for him) were inedibly spicy hot and had to be replaced. ANother had shrimp scampi that was "tasteless" and had to ask for more garlic butter. Not what I've come to expect from them Maybe being nearly empty (Cactus location) at 8PM on a Friday should have been a clue. read more

This was not my first time eating at an Oregano's restaurant, which probably contributes to my disappointment with my most recent visit. It has been a longtime favorite Italian eatery of my family since I was little, but my most recent visit has me reconsidering things. When my girlfriend took our dog and me out to this Oregano's the first thing we noticed was trash littered all over the fairly uncrowded patio. We did our best to find a table with as little trash as possible and took our seats, and our waitress Salma came by and said she'd be back with waters. Upon her return, one of the glasses was had food mess on it! We sent it back and my girlfriend ordered a sangria, and we ordered appetizers and dinner. Things were fine until I ordered a beer, which was delivered with glue covering the neck. The calamari was quite good, fried nicely, seasoned well and not too heavily breaded. My longtime favorite, the Alfredo the Dark, also had quality consistent with my experience. The pepper had a perfect amount of spice that balanced nicely with the flavors of the dish, although the breadstick was burnt. But when we ordered a pan pizza, Salma came back when it should have been done and told us the kitchen had given the pizza to a takeout customer. She then asked us if we would still like a pan pizza, which would take an additional 45 minutes to cook, or if we'd like a thin crust alternative which would be out faster. Being in the middle of our meal, we decided on the thin crust, despite it not being what we ordered. She said she would be right back with a sangria refill, but about 30 minutes later she came to the table with a thin crust pizza and the sangria. Finally we asked for a box and the check, but when they arrived we saw we were still going to be charged for the pan pizza. We decided to leave it alone because we still got a pizza, and returned the check. When Salma brought it back we noticed she had given us the wrong check this time! This was the last straw and we brought it to Salma's attention along with the pizza charge, at which point she corrected the errors. I definitely appreciated how kind to our dog Salma was, and she brought him refills very quickly, but this visit shook my faith in the Oregano's quality of service I had grown accustomed to. read more

So first thing Oreganos used to be out go to joint on the way to ball games or after work meet-ups. They have gone the way of the corporate chain though. You used to walk up and be graciously greeted, you expected extend a wait for a table but felt welcome. Now you walk up and stand for a few minutes until an already over worked staff member can sneak away from their guests to hap hazardous register you for a wait. When you are finally seated you expect the "hey guys welcome to Oreganos, have you been here before?" Instead you get a ubiquitous "can I get you something to drink?" No greeting. The menu prices have gone up, and not incrementally but doubles in the Heckuva Slice literally making it cheaper to buy a whole pizza and split than to get 3 slices. Even their claim to fame Pizza cookie came out and the pan wasn't even hot. The AC appears to be not working in Summer when it's 110+ outside. And water has to be requested. I assume the staff is as unhappy as we were being here because that is how they made us feel. Ownership and management should take a long hard look at why a once valley favorite is now another failing tourist trap of a joint. Do your self a favor seek out a local pizza joint, this place has gone so far off the rails it's not worth it. For history I am from Chicago so I appreciate the tavern cut thin crust, every neighborhood had a couple places that served this style. Every family had the weekly argument about which one to order from, and no one was wrong because we all have different tastes. This was as close to that pizza as I had found in AZ. I even own a few of their classic T shirts and have gifted them to friends as a novelty. Well not any more there is at least one North Valley that knocked this place out, Spinattos. And if NYC style is your thing Venetzias is way better and appropriately priced, and the staff at both make you feel appreciated. Save you money get a take and bake or dine local Oreganos has out stayed their welcome on the AZ pizza scene. read more

Am yet to have a bad experience at any Oregano's we've dined at. They have great salads if you ask me. We often split a dinner or a salad. Their salads are a generous portion and have always been enough to split. We go to this one most of the time but have eaten at others around the Valley over the years. Very consistent. We ordered take out tonight (Saturday 6:50pm) over the phone. I am gluten free and wanted the signature pizza Bistro Classic but online you can't change the sauce to garlic butter under the gluten free pizza page, nor can you change the crust under the Bistro Classic pizza page. We called in our order and I spoke with a super nice girl and we had a great rapport over the phone and joked in person at the pick up desk. On the phone she said she had to build the pizza by paying per topping and I said sure. So I ordered a Gluten free pizza with garlic butter sauce, red onion, and fresh basil. When she was handing me this order she showed me the pizza and it was missing the tomatoes. She said no problem she'll fix it. She came back with the food and I went home trusting it was fixed. Got home to a more toasted pizza with red onion and basil precut with sliced tomatoes barely warm tossed on top clearly proving it wasn't a new pizza. When the gf crust is too well done it eats like a really hard cracker. I unfortunately grated parmesan onto it before I took photos but here's what it should've looked like and this is what I got. Husbands order was just as he ordered. Rigatoni, add one sausage link and extra sauce on the side. Really disappointed with mine. It's Saturday night, I'm aware it's busy but I wasn't in a rush and I just wish they wanted to take it right. It was like a garlic cracker with a warm fresh tomato slice. Yum lol read more

If you've never had one, they make a great pan pizza. However, it takes 45 minutes to cook it. Today, with family in town visiting, I decided to do what I'd done previously, which is - Order the 45 minutes pizza and then show up before it's done and get a table to eat the pizza and get drinks salads etc. -. I was informed by the guy who answered the phone they can't take an order over the phone for something I'm going to eat there.....???? I explained that I'd done this before at his very location. He muttered several things I couldn't even hear and apologized. Soo, If you want the Pan Pizza your only options seem to be 1. go in order the pizza and then loiter at one of their tables for almost an hour drinking waters (wait staff loves this) or2. you get your pizza and go home you dirty frigging weirdo. If they changed their policy, they need to revisit it, because it makes no sense. I'm guessing the guy on the phone and/or whomever he may have been asking just didn't know what to say or how to handle it. I'm so tired of employees giving away the owner's money by sending customers down the road when a solution is so easy. When Mr. and Mrs. Oregano open their first shop I'm sure they couldn't wait for a family to come in and drop 100 on dinner, now they have employees who send those same families down the road. read more

I was very excited to go here for dinner I haven't been to one since my son was in college in 2000. We had just been to our granddaughter's dance showcase recital and all really hungry. We tried to get a table for 7 on Saturday night 3/8 at 8:15pm. The website said they were open until 10:00pm as well as the sign next to the entrance door. The hostess asked if we cared where we sat and I said that no we could sit inside or out. The hostess then proceeded to said it would be a 20 minute wait and since they closed at 9:00pm they really didn't have any room for us. We started to leave and my son said no they are open until 10:00pm. I looked at the sign next to the front door and it clearly says 10:00pm. My son then back went inside and asked the hostess again what time they close and she again said 9:00pm. The restaurant was clearly still busy with many tables still eating and there was definitely room for us on the patio. While we were outside the front door I looked back in and saw what it looked like the hostess celebrating to another co-worker that she was able to turn us away. We felt like she just didn't want to deal with a table of 7. We probably should have asked why there was a sign next to the entrance and their website hours were still listed at 10:00. We ended up going to Olive Garden spent our $200+ there and got excellent food and service. read more

We are big fans of the huge sausage appetizer and I like the passion fruit tea. Everyone takes really good care of us... the staff is very professional and attentive. Let me start by stating that the food is always good. I've never had anything at Oregano's that I don't love and this visit was no exception. My big concern was the service. Our server just seemed disinterested the entire time. It took 35 minutes for our food to come out on a night that was not that busy. There were no apologies offered. One of the orders came out wrong and we had to ask three times for extra napkins. The man waiting us seemed more concerned with the server he was attempting to flirt with than in helping out table. I haven't been to this place before but a friend ordered some things to go and I picked them up for her on my way to a gathering she was hosting. It was supposed to be ready for pickup at a certain time but it wasn't. The staff were super friendly and apologetic about it. I get it, things happen. They made sure I was taken care of and that everything was correct when it was ready. The food was great and very flavorful. I even liked the artichoke dip and I don't like artichokes generally. First time at an Oregano's... definitely not my last. This location is close to work and very convenient. They have a lunch menu that has some of the same menu options for dinner with smaller portions. I ordered the Alfredo the Dark for lunch, to go, with the recommendation of a coworker. The turnaround time was quick. I went and picked it up. Once I opened the container I was pleasantly surprised on how large the portion was. The Alfredo the Dark didn't disappoint very tasty and it had a good amount of chicken and peppers. The sauce was great. I would definitely go back and order it again or try something new. read more

We find the pasta here completely oversaw. If you like complete Americanized Italian food from the , east cost this is a place to go. We do enjoy their wedding soup, but that's about.it . The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and the servers are nice, but the food is less than desirable.. I would say we had the calamari which was drenched in a garlic butter sauce, and we thought it was completely completely awful. Longtime customer at Oregano's. Went to the restaurant at PV Mall after a long week at work. Just needed to catch my breath and have a good meal. Ended up with the personal pan pizza and the Oregano's favorite with chicken. I mixed it up asking for the salad to be dry and to toss the chicken in Buffalo sauce. Time to change the name also, the pizza tastes like frozen pizza. so incredibly disappointing! We went here for my sons birthday today and I'm sad to say we had a terrible time here tonight. We were seated by a host that literally threw our five menus on the table and walked away. Our waiter seemed a bit friendly at first, but then seemed quite hurried as he tried to leave several times before we had all ordered. Our drinks took quite awhile to arrive. Our food came out at all different times. We did have some appetizers, and they did come first, but also with two salads that were entrees. Then part of the other meals arrived, but we had ordered a pizza as well. We hadn't seen our waiter again, other people dropped our food off. I asked one of them about the pizza and she said she would check on it, and never came back. Our pizza arrived a full 15 minutes after the other entrees. The food was just ok. We still had never seen our waiter again. Drinks were empty, including water, he never came to see if we had everything or needed anything. Our waiter walked by quite awhile later and asked if we needed boxes, still didn't refill a drink or anything. We had told our waiter it was my sons birthday when we arrived, and he never even asked if we wanted to order dessert at the end of our meal. Everyone was aggravated and ready to leave at this point anyway, but I thought it was odd he didn't ask. Our waiter did return with boxes and our bill, and then never came back to run the card. While waiting I was looking over the receipt, we were charged for adding chicken to an entree which we hadn't done and pointed out when our food arrived and they said it would be taken off the bill, it wasn't. I also ordered a small salad and received a large salad, which we were charged for. Just more aggravation but we were so exasperated I didn't even bring it up. After waiting another 15 minutes my son got up and took it to him so we could finally pay and leave. It was really a terrible experience. read more

I stopped eating at oregano's 6 years ago because of the bad service. I finally gave it a try again, and unfortunately nothing has changed and I won't be back. Food wasn't bad it just wasn't great. My appetizer was forgotten so it never came out but another's in the party did so we just shared and it was actually pretty good zucchini.
