The first time I got the chickpea queso (amaze balls) and the Mediterranean kabob bowl (phenomenal). The second time I had the mother earth bowl with tofu and my husband had the chicken enchiladas. When I first arrived in Phoenix, Flower child was one of my go to restaurants. I always get the barbecue chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. The portion size has been erratic lately especially at the Paradise Valley location. Food quality is also heading in the wrong direction. I got my order to go and when I got in the car my sweet potato fries were cold! I don't mean not hot I mean cold. I ate them anyway because I don't believe in taking food back, you never know what's going on back there. I got home to eat my chicken wrap and when I picked it up I could tell it was a lot smaller than normal and all of the chicken was bitten off in one bite. Most likely I won't be going back to this location, I may give the Desert Ridge location another try. The service is always friendly and it's always a nice atmosphere but they've gotta do better. read more

This was my second visit to flower child in a couple of years (I don't live in Phoenix, but I visit friends who do). The ambience is clean and bright, the service is always lovely, and the food is delicious. Both times I got a bowl with forbidden rice and topped it with salmon. So amazing and healthy, at the same time! My husband got a steak entree and added broccoli and Mac and cheese. He LOVED his meal so much, he asked to go back a few days later! The Mac and cheese was gluten-free (which we are not) but was so amazing and rich that you couldn't even tell! Folks who live in Phoenix are so lucky to have this gem!!! read more

Having grown up in the Tatum and Cactus area, I spent time regularly at the Paradise Valley Mall. I was saddened when it closed in 2021 though I had no idea what would replace it. I've been excited each time something new has opened in the newly reimagined PV from a central park and community gathering place along with dining and retail options. The first of the locations to open in the new PV was Flower Child in September 2024. Having already eaten at a Flower Child location before, I knew what to expect, but with it opening in my neighborhood, it felt like an entirely new experience! The food itself includes salads, bowls, wraps, entrees, desserts, drinks, and family packs. My wife and I enjoy the entrees as we pick a protein and then two sides. My wife enjoys the tofu while I most recently had the steak. Our favorite sides include the mac and cheese, Yuzu brussel sprouts, and roasted broccoli. I have also enjoyed the Rebel Wrap before (including grass-fed steak, charred onion, port salut cheese, arugula, horseradish yogurt). We have never been disappointed with a meal at Flower Child, and the PV location continues this positive trend. I also have to note the service, which has always been great with quick preparation whether a to-go order or dine-in order and staff greeting us upon arrival and thanking us upon leaving. The staff bringing food to us has also been very helpful and kind. They also have complimentary infused water outside (as it is Arizona after all!). The positive service is one of the reasons I enjoy going to dine in instead of just taking food to go. Through the Flower Child website (www.iamaflowerchild.com), you can place an online order or even order catering in advance. You can also sign up for a rewards program which also includes giveaways and freebies. Right now, "Happy Weeks" are happening with new rewards dropping every week all season long. You can also win free Flower Child food for a year. It is also a Fox Restaurant, which always means good things! In fact, Flower Child is often thought of as the most healthy of the Fox Restaurants. But healthy is even better when it tastes as good as the food at Flower Child tastes! I certainly recommend it and will be heading back again soon. read more

I just had to sneak a peek at this lovely new location, but I didn't have time to dine there this time, so the 5 stars are for atmosphere and the others are since I've never had a less than 5* at any of them--they are that consistently good. It's right off 2 Valley Metro bus routes (routes 138 and 44) too, so I took some pics to show the latest menu and the thoughtful infused water station by their entry. i Walked into Flowerchild on Tatum in Paradise Valley to order a Turkey Avocado Salad with Gorgonzola Vinaigrette and a Mother Earth Bowl with chicken and extra broccoli pesto and was warmly greeted and assisted immediately. My order only took ten minutes and I was on the road and home in 20 minutes. My first bite of my Mother Earth Bowl brought such a mixture of delicious sensations and I made a loud verbal yummmmm noise! It is the perfect meal. Whole grains, avocado, tender, white meat chicken strips, sweet potato, sauteed onions, perfect seasoning and greens. Very knowledgeable staff at the counter and took extra care to note my peanut allergy. That always is a guaranteed return visit for me. I only reduced one star because the music was a bit louder than I think is good for the space. May have just been an off day. I ordered the rebel wrap on a gluten-free wrap. I asked for the beef to be well done and I added tomatoes. I think the tomatoes totally added that extra freshness needed for such a savory wrap. My food was brought right to my table and my server even grabbed my silverware, despite the fact it was set out for folks to self serve.
