Pretty good diner food. I ordered the patty melt with fries and it was pretty tasty. My father ordered a meatloaf dinner and believe it or not, it was I expected to be horrible. I even joked with him about ordering that in a diner. It was moist and had decent flavor. The mashed potatoes were fresh and fluffy. He had no big complaints except the portion was too large (LOL). Regular dinner with a variety menu. Order a chicken ceaser wrap, a little to creamy for my taste. Waitress ask me what do i want, but no telling me they will extra charge fries. Not knowing that fries are an extra $5 on top of extra for being sweet potatoes. Very disappointed and being going here for a while usually don't give bad reviews, but even left tip. Anyways not coming back, be honest with your customers no hidden fees. But overall service is great and very fast to serve you food. read more

I've been eating here on Sunday mornings since moving here 2 and half years ago. It's become our own family tradition. They are family owned, and it shows. They know what they are doing and run the place the right way. It's a solid diner (this coming from a guy who grew up in Diner Capital USA aka northern NJ), good food, decent prices, and even though it's always packed, we never wait more than a couple minutes to sit. I've been to Orem's diner multiple times and the food never disappoints. It is quick service and the waiters are SO nice. When the food comes out it's always delicious and the prices are pretty cheap. If you're looking for some good diner food in Fairfield county I'd recommend Orem's ten out of ten times. read more

Great place to take anyone who knows what a diner is and is just fine with that. Good food, good selection, great case of cakes when you walk in that all look and are delicious. booth, chair or counter service. Very clean, friendly, decent coffee. Kid friendly and casual, never much of a wait. the perfect place to eat if you're trying to meet someone from out of town b/c the directions to get there are so easy and it's easy to spot. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Nasty, gross and inedible food. Waffles with strawberries were served with frozen strawberries that had been heated in a microwave. They were purple and squishy. Egg white omelet had water coming out. Hash browns were not brown, overlooked mushy, nasty potatoes. When we asked if anyone had ever complained they said no, but now that I see the reviews I know that's not true. They took the waffles off our bill and seemed surprised that someone would want fresh food. Everything, we were told, is not fresh, all frozen. Yuck. Never again. $25 for a gross breakfast that we could not eat. Glad we barely ate considering how many have gotten food poisoning. Amazed this place is in business. My wife and I just ate at Orem's diner in Wilton, CT. First, the waitress got our order wrong. Secondly, there was a very long, black hair in my wife's cole slaw. We pointed it out to the waitress just as the plate touched the table so there was no disputing it. We didn't even get an apology and the waitress never told the manager. To top it off the waitress never returned to our table and we had to ask another waitress for the check. Unprofessional and unclean, we will never go back again. read more

This diner is a Wilton institution. It's reliably good and I really like it for breakfast and lunch.

I stopped in this afternoon and ordered a very simple lunch special - a roast beef sandwich on rye with lettuce and tomato. What I received was a sandwich piled high with lettuce, with two slices of tomato and two thin slices of roast beef. If I wanted a lettuce sandwich, I would of ordered one.To be fair, the cup of vegetable soup that came with it was decent, but needless to say, I was disappointed.There are better diners in Fairfield County than this one. read more

Orem's in an institution in Wilton. Blue collar breakfasts early, local business meetings later, families and teams on the week-ends, everyone goes to Orem's. As with most diners, I think breakfast is their best meal. I guess I need to be honest in my ranking, though. I'd say their food is average good diner food. But you should still go. We came in an hour before they closed, and the host said "You have to order quickly because we close soon." Customer service was abysmal, food was awful and dry. Pretty much one of the worst diner experiences. I would not recommend Orem's to anyone, and I will never be going again. I'm guessing the only reason why it's still open is because it's on a main road, but to be honest there are much better diners in Stamford if you can get over there. read more

This place is disgusting. We should have known when we saw the "no outside food and beverage" sign that this place was bad. Poor service, and just the worst food. I don't think there is a way to give no stars because of there was, you better believe this place would not be getting ANY. We got there and were just waived to a booth, which is fine, it's a diner. Then our server, as she was handing us the menus, asks what we want to order. When we finally order we realize the prices are higher than the Westport Sherwood Diner, which is totally fine for quality food. We ordered a short stack of blueberry pancakes with bacon, a short stack of French toast and a side of home fries. As we're waiting for food a man and his son come in, are seated and served their food well before we even see our server again. Finally we get our food, along with our food we are also served "pancake syrup", which is literally sugar and caramel coloring. The food just looked gross, the pancakes were just purple and missing any visible blueberries, the French toast was yellow and the potatoes... Let's just say it looked like some one was cut off half way through making mashed potatoes and watery. The bacon, I will say wasn't bad (maybe that can be the one star). So good luck to anyone thinking of heading to this place, I would recommend driving the extra 20mins to eat at Sherwood. read more

When I think of New England diners, I think of Orem's. Always busy, huge menus, good food (though I've never eaten anything there except breakfast), big roomy booths for business meetings, Orem's is a classic. And though I wouldn't want to hazard trying to get in on a Sunday after church, Orem's is perfect for the hungry traveller. The lumberjack breakfast was excellent -- filled me up for a long day. The coffee was good and she kept it coming. I'll have to return for dinner sometime. In the meantime, Orem's gets my vote for the best place to meet for breakfast in CT. Judging by the crowd of locals, a lot of other people think so as well. read more

Orems is a top notch diner and one of the very best in tbe area. I go often with my father who is a regular. The menu is extensive, the staff is great and friendly, the dining room is always very very cool, and it is clean. Portions are very generous and often arrive quickly. Really cannot go wrong with anything. Never had a meal I didn't like. Coffee is only ok though. At peak times it's packed. Prices are very fair. And, the prices are right where I'd expect diner prices to be. One of us ordered poached eggs with tomatoes. Very good. I ordered the Big Breakfast. The egg portion could've been bigger. The sausages that came were little links not fat sausages. The French toast was good but could've been fatter. The bacon was good. There should've been home fries with this order too. Our friend ordered Eggs Fiorentino. The poached eggs were good. The feta and spinach was good. And the home fries were good. The toast that came hardly had any butter in it. Had to ask for more. I am in my 30s and have been eating at Orems since before the internet. There are a few things that I will and can gripe about. One is that the service can be slow during the Saturday and Sunday morning rush. The other beef I have is in the quality of the dinner items. However, with those gripes is the realization that if I am up and going to get breakfast on a weekend its going to be Orems. This spot had actually relocated to a much bigger location. This is a reputable area restaurant that is family owned and packs in the crowds all the time. The place is large enough to hold the people, but sometimes has a wait. The menu is your typical diner quality food but the portions are huge and the service is fast on it's feet and very friendly. Wowwwww! Let me first say, the food was ok. I ordered a cheese blintz and thought it was good with the apple sauce and sour cream. However...... this place will need to rethink their idea of a what a sit down restaurant is and a take out restaurant. The waiter hinted at us to leave 3 times because of the Sunday church crowd. He mentioned that there were others waiting. WTF DUDE!! I came there to have a conversation with my daughter's teacher, if I thought they would ask us to leave WHILE I was finishing up my coffee, I would have never sat down to eat. In my lifetime on this planet and going to restaurants 2 to 3 times a week sometimes, I have never been asked to leave due to others waiting. It was always implied when the check comes but never verbally asked. Don't go on a day when it's packed. No I will not be going back. I have been coming here since I was a kid and it's always been consistently good. I only eat breakfast at diners so I can't really comment on their other food, but their coffee, pancakes, omelettes, corned beef hash, eggs Benedict and home fries are all delicious.
