Ben and his crew were amazing! (Work done Oct 2014, this is super late) I needed a virgin forced air system put in my attic after my prehistoric floor furnace conked out. I had three other quotes one was pretty close (but Oren was slightly less) the others were a few thousand more, but none of them actually climbed into the attic to assess they just peeked their heads. So when Ben and his nephew (I think or cousin) climbed up and actually looked around, that was pretty much the selling point for me. I am still, to this day, in shock at how quickly they did everything this includes: adding/moving gas line in the basement/side of the house to the attic, electrical, widening the attic access point to the attic (they also framed and stained the wood!), removing my old asbestos covered floor furnace the safe way, adding a register and 7 vents, a Nest thermostat (which I am totally and completely in love with) and cleaned up after themselves on each the TWO, Yes TWO days it took to put the whole system in my house. I just can't believe they did it in two days! They came in the morning before I left for work at the crack of dawn and were finishing sweeping up when I got home on both days. They brought in a rotating crews and had most of the major work done the first day, and in probably the hottest attic in the world they sweat through getting it done perfect and professionally. Ben was so great! There was a weird noise in the register and one of the vents that started a couple months later, he came out the next day tightened everything up (I think the house may have moved/ settled and misaligned things), now no more noise! I immediately liked and trusted Ben and he felt like an old friend on the very first day! I can't be happier with my choice to have gone with Oren for my forced air system! read more

We decided to use Oren for our duct cleaning because their duct cleaning included furnace vacuuming AND maintenance (which I felt was very important considering we had just finished construction). I will say that they were very quick to reply and schedule an appointment. However, communication with the 2 gentlemen that came to do the work was very difficult. I had asked if they provided before and after photos of the ducts and he said yes. I asked about the furnace "maintenance" he would do and he didn't understand. I figured not a problem, I'd just send a follow up email to the company for more information. Was told that they don't do photos and then didn't receive a reply anymore when asked about what furnace "maintenance" work was done. So based on their communication and their pricing, I unfortunately can't recommend Oren. read more

I'm selling a property and needed to put in a forced-air heating system bc the building only had a single gas wall heater in the kitchen/living area, and baseboard heaters in the bedrooms. I called the well-known place my real estate agent recommended, whose name I'll leave out bc I don't want to throw them under the bus, but they came out and quoted $20,000. I was shocked, expecting the bid to come in around $10,000, so at that point I decided to research and get bids from other HVAC companies. I called Oren's, and Atlas. Oren's had a slot available for an estimator to come out sooner, so I booked Oren's first, and then the earliest Atlas could come out was a week later. 3 days ago, on Monday, Oren himself came out. I have a lot of experience managing projects, so it was a straight-shooting, no B.S. conversation, maybe lasted 15 minutes. At the end, he gave me a verbal quote, which was $6800. Yup, a full 65% lower than the other company that gave me the first quote, so literally on the spot I agreed to work with them. They sent me a contract later that afternoon, I paid a $1k deposit, and bc they had a cancellation they were actually able to start sooner than expected, literally the next day Tuesday. 2 guys came out, Rambo and Tony. I'm not kidding, the dude's name was Rambo, who's originally from Vietnam but has been here for 30 years. Amazing dude, my own regular 2 workers who have worked with me for 8 years, who have 20+ years of experience in construction, and almost never like the occasional 3rd party contractors I hire alongside them, in this instance raved about Rambo, and said he's a "Cabron" (loose translation: bada-s at his job). Rambo and Tony were done in 1.5 days, literally today (Wednesday) I paid them the balance I owed and I now have a brand new heating system - literally 3 days after I first had him come over to give me a bid. Like I said, I have a lot of experience with "the trades", and have been remodeling places for almost 10 years, and I almost NEVER have experiences like I just had with Oren's. Oren himself is super transparent, very competitive on pricing, and will give you the straight deal. Honestly I'm not even sure why they have 4.7 stars, like who gave them less than 5 to knock them down to 4.7? Must have been someone having a bad day or who's just lame, rather than Oren doing something wrong. In any event, that's my experience, I've written only a handful of Yelp reviews in my life, and only do so when I think somebody really deserves a shoutout. Oren (and Rambo) is that guy. read more

I was too quick to provide a review. One week after the furnace was repaired the installed part broke. I contacted Oren and they were closed for a month. I left phone messages and sent an email. I got an email response back saying they "might be able to take a look", but did not offer to repair or refund. I couldn't wait a month to get my furnace repaired. So I called Atlas. They were fast and professional. They fixed the furnace the next day and told me that Oren had installed the wrong part. I called Oren again requesting a refund. It's been a week now with no response. I understand that replacement parts may be improperly installed or break. That's why I gave Oren the benefit of the doubt. However when given the opportunity to do the right thing and refund my money or fix the furnace or have another company make the repairs at their cost Oren instead chose to be unresponsive. If I ran my business that way I would be out of business. Oren gets one star. Their are a lot of HVAC companies to choose from and I would strongly recommend Atlas. They're also a union shop and pay their employees a livable wage! Thank you Atlas. Atlas gets five stars. read more

This review is long over due. I must say Oren and his team did a fantastic job of installing a new HVAC system for me. The heater and air conditioner his team installed is super strong and very quiet! Oren is a class act and very honest and professional His price is also very competitive compare to other HVAC contractors. His communication is above and beyond as I NEVER had any issues contacting him! He has two teams, one is the electrician and the other is the HVAC installer. Both did a superb job! After living in the moderate climate of SF for many years and not needing AC, I finally made the trek out to Oakland to put down roots. I held strong for the first two heatwaves but after this last one my house hit 90 degrees and I'd had enough! We called a few places and got quotes and were worried it was going to be way out of our budget. Truth be told, a couple quotes were! But when Oren showed up I was thrilled. We tried cleaning our dryer vent ourselves, we called another company who showed up with the same equipment I bought at home depot which didn't work so I went to work researching how to clean vents with longer pipes. When I reached out to Oren I was assured they had the right equipment for the job and the knowledge to do it right. Oren is the best HVAC guy you can get. We had a clogged drying machine vent and Oren cleaned it and fixed the problem. Before he fixed it, a few other HVAC guys came by to look at the issue and either didn't identify the problem, or said they knew it was a clogged vent but couldn't fix it. Scheduled for an air duct cleaning and I was disappointed when the technican who was sent could not look at my heater. The service that was promised via their email included Furnace maintenance/tune up which includes: * Clean blower * Clean & adjust burners * Inspect heat exchange * Inspect gas pressure & flame * Inspect igniter/pilot light * Inspect filter * Check airflow The technician said he could not even see the pilot light because the furnace was more than 10 years old and he was unfamiliar with older heaters. I called Oren's services when my furnace broke down on a Friday after 5pm and they scheduled a technician to come by on Monday. Of all the places I called (I called 4 other places) this is the only place that picked up and had appointments that quick. I got a confirmatory text about the appointment and the technician's name which is nice! On the day of arrival, Guy the technician showed up 15 min early actually which was awesome! He tried a few maneuvers like tightening some bolts and changing the thermostat battery which did not work. He thought it might be a "motherboard" issue. He left and went straight to the warehouse to see if they have it in stock and then came right back to fix it! It was fixed after swapping out the motherboard. From the time he first arrived to when I had heat again was less than TWO hours! Wow! You cant beat that kind of service! Guy was also very kind and walked me through what was wrong with the furnace. I would definitely recommend their services! Invoice was sent immediately via email. Payment was quick with a credit card Over the phone with their sales person. I had them come out for a quote to replace a wall heater. Initially they were curteous and prompt, and stated that they would get back to me with a quote and appointment date. For the next 3 weeks I called, sent yelp messages, and emailed- all with no response. I had explained that this was a time sensitive project, but ended up needing to hire a different contractor (missing the initial deadline). There was never an apology or response sent. My dryer duct vent was clogged up despite my best efforts to clean it myself, Oren's secretary quoted me a price of $120-$180. Oren came out, crawled underneath my house to find out the problem, and found part of the vent had been dislodged from the main pipe, with excess water building up in the pipes as well. He thoroughly took care of the problem, and only charged me $120! Refused to take a tip as well! These guys are great! Highly recommended. They recently came out to access what was wrong with my furnace and told me that it's 35 years old, that's what's wrong with it! With that being said, I realized that I got way more out of my furnace then it was designed so I was ok with installing a new one since they couldn't really fix my old one because of it's age. I recently purchased renovated (flipped) property and little did I know that the flipper did not properly open a hole for the dryer to vent out of. Personally, I love the feeling when I use a q-tip and get a really good glob of earwax from my ear. Oren is doing that same thing to your house. Our new-to-us 90 year old home was going through some quick refreshing before we moved in. We refinished the floors and I thought it would be a good idea to also do a duct cleaning. We called them just in time. They brushed, cleaned, and sanitized our lines and completely cleaned out our furnace blower. Seriously, the house just smelled fresher afterwards. It no longer smelled like old house. The best part is that the furnace now runs silently and there's no more rattling in the ducts. Also the amount of lint they pulled was just obscene. We're SO HAPPY they did it. Their pricing is in line with the average, but they really go above and beyond in service. I wouldn't hesitate to call Oren again to clean our ducts! read more

Excellent service!!!!! I cannot thank Oren enough for providing such an outstanding, professional, affordable and quality service! He and his partner came on a Sunday morning to wreak havoc on the air ducts in my new house! They were 15 minutes EARLY and were fully equipped for the job at hand. He even warned me about the level of noise of their machine and suggested to maybe wait outside when they got closer to the bottom floor since he saw I had a baby with me! I think most people would just go about their work and show no concern for the people around them. He took care of all the vents and I requested to have the dryer vent cleaned as well. In addition, he also checked the furnace unit, cleaned it and fixed the cover that wasn't sitting on it correctly or safely. They were very thorough and at the end of their service (about 3 hours later!) the air was much cleaner - you could smell and feel it! Very worth the money! There is a service and there is a SERVICE! My wife and I moved to a new house and not sure if it's the fact it's a house (vs an apartment we used to have) or the global warming but it was just impossible to stay in the house between 2PM to 9PM, so we started to look for an air condition. We had multiple people coming in giving us offers but when I talked to Oren over the phone I realized that this is the one. Later they came over to my house inspected everything and gave me the needed recommendations which were exactly what I needed - both on the price side and the technical side. As part of the installation Oren and his team had to get rid of the old duck work that I had (Asbestos), get rid of the old furnace that I had in a closet in my house, install a brand new furnace in the addict which requires to change the gas line and more, install an A/C system, run all the duck work and perform all the needed tests on the system to make sure it is functional as expected. Oren and team (5 people!!) came over and finished the work within only 2 days ! So now I can sit down and write the review with the A/C on :) One last thing to remember about Oren - Honesty !! I got a chance to work with multiple service providers / contractors but one thing that is different with Oren and his team is the fact they will tell you exactly what they think / know and won't tell you they can do everything. I own some property in the Bay Area and Oren Services are taking care of all my property. The company is very loyal, professional, good prices for their services. I found Oren services online, after I read all of their reviews, I made an appointment with them, they sowed up on time and started to work on the AC unit immediately. It took them 6 hours to replace the compressor in the AC unit. When I was looking at other price estimates, all the other company's give me ridiculous prices. And Oren services was the only reasonable one. They replaced the filter for free, and that was vey kind of the. They left the property clean, after they checked that everything works good. We are very pleased with the services provided by Oren. It is a business that put the customer first, and it shows. We hired them in January to clean up our dryer exhaust. Mike took the necessary time to walk around the house and locate the exhaust as well as making sure there was no disconnected parts from the dryer to the outside wall. This August, our dryer started having difficulties, so we checked back with Oren to double check whether the warranty had elapsed yet. Even though the 6-month warranty was past already, the owner of the business offered to come over at no charge in order to fix our problem, which he did quite fast. It turns out that we simply have a longer exhaust than average and it requires to be cleaned very frequently. read more
