I just have to publicly profess my love for Roots! I have been a loyal customer for the last five or six years and I just absolutely love this store. Im there at least a few times a week. I love grabbing my coffee there at the coffee bar or getting a smoothie and I'm always able to pick up whatever vitamins and supplements I need. The staff has always been kind and friendly. I have to give a special shout out to the absolute angel on earth who works the checkout stand I don't remember her name but she has a thick accent and brown hair and she is just such a doll and remembers me every time and I can genuinely say she makes my day better. Customer Service Rating: I'm so disappointed at the type of service I received yesterday from one of the team members. Her name was Margie. It's not totally her fault; I would look to the management's doing and training of their employees. Organic Roots has always been one of those places to me where I would go to just because of the organic and local products they offer. But that's just it. Their customer service is horrible. From when it first opened in town until to this day. I've maybe had one or two employees spark a smile from time to time, and it's always the same ones. It's rare to find their employees smiling or have a genuine care to help their customers. Shopping in person is a whole new level of experience over online shopping, and it should be looked at as more than just buying the products, it's an overall shopping experience, to the moment a customer walks in, to finding their goods or items, to purchasing at the cashiers, and when they leave the store. Yesterday, I walked into organic roots pretty worn out from working all day, and came just 5 minutes before closing to pick up only a couple of things to feed my family for the next few days. Margie reminded me hastily they were closing, I agreed and said I would only need a couple things. It was only 3 minutes in, and I skipped over quickly to the cold food area, on my way to the cashier area and wanted to grab myself dinner (due to being worn out from the day already to cook a meal). Here comes Margie running after me to let me know they are closed, again, tho this time in a hastily, rudely impulsive matter. I was so surprised at her choice of words and care toward me as a customer. How about rather ask if there were anything else I had needed, and if I could grab my last items I needed as they need to close the registers? Margie checked me out and said ".. with all that's going on, we need to close at 7." I mentioned other stores don't push you out if you were in before closing time. She replied, "that's nice." Margie picked up some of my items from the bagging area and held it in the air to hurry and go. I grabbed my remaining items from her and dared to say as I pushed my cart toward the door, "Have a nice day." I understand there is a pandemic going on. I understand businesses have to ran in a certain way right now. I understand the management and employees have their own families to protect. I even understand that the employees themselves probably have customers yelling at them right now due to product shortage. I sympathize with them. But I do understand, a business won't go far with just the products they offer. I will be putting my hard earned money toward other local businesses who are more supportive, genuine, and grateful for their customers who keep their businesses running. Love the whole to go section! They have a wide variety to choose from - build your own salad, burrito, bowl, sandwich, and wraps. There's also a huge selection of hot foods and soups. I love the chicken verde, Cajun tofu, spicy Mac and cheese, and their zucchini. Most of the times their hot food is gluten free! I also like to look at their wall with a bunch of cookies to the left of the desert and coffee. Sometimes you might see a GF Choc chip cookie orig $3.99 on sale for $1.99 for their manager special. It usually expires the next day but hey it still tastes good and it's almost as soft as the fresher, more expensive ones. I don't usually buy my groceries here just cuz their prices are a bit out of my budget. However every so often when I roam the store I see something I'm interested in and will try it out. read more

AMAZING STORE 5+ stars...with a fabulous variety of Organic food. The store is huge, clean, bright, and the products are well organized and displayed beautifully. We drive from Riverside to Roots Temecula every few months or so to bulk up on Organic Vegan products. The staff there is superb - kind, helpful, patient, eager to please, appreciative for your business, and all of them go out of their way to locate the products you need. Margie is an outstanding manager. She has a warm, lovely, bubbly, and friendly personality. Today, she happened to be the one to ring up our purchases. Our groceries were perfectly organized and the oil bottles were each individually encased in paper bags so nothing breaks. Shawn and Jack were also so very helpful and terrific. For the last 12 years, I've appreciated our Roots grocery store. They have the best selection of organic produce and fantastic staff that are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. In these COVID times, I've come to value the freedom of choice Roots allows its customers; as it pertains to the wearing of masks. Since Roots values health and wholesome life choices, it was refreshing to see that Roots has the strength of its convictions! By respecting each of their customers individual rights, they have reaffirmed their respect for health and life! You see, every person has thoughtfully determined why the wearing of a mask makes or doesn't make sense for them.... My position is the following: The greater issue is that masks definitely work; when deployed by trained personnel, who have access to supporting equipment, in the appropriate environment. From my daily observations (these total thousands of people by now), which are also corroborated by many health-care professionals, the VAST majority of folks use masks in ways that will NOT afford any expected benefit. To gain some nominal protection, people need to put on NEW/CLEAN masks and NEW/CLEAN gloves PRIOR to entering a high-density public area. Following their "mission", they need to throw-away gloves and masks BEFORE touching/entering their vehicles. They need to be mindful about not adjusting or fiddling with their masks to avoid inadvertently touching their faces. The masks need to be properly fitted for their faces...etc. As such, masks for the general public is counterproductive and will actually cause more harm than good. Thank you Roots for giving me an opportunity to enjoy the basic freedom we've all been taking for granted I'm afraid! read more

Aisles and shelves constantly blocked with boxes, rude employees stocking shelves that won't even move out of the way so that you can get too items. Produce quality has drastically gone down hill. This place is the old Sprouts with more money to redo their store. Rawhide is confused between the stores. And I actually find as much non-gmo and organic products at Henry's (new name is Sprouts) as I do at Roots. Trade Joes is complete garbage, would not compare them to anyone. Roots is ok, not great, not Whole Foods. Overall they have a good selection of products. Some price are far to high, others are reasonable - you need to shop wisely here. The produce section finally all reasonably priced and is the one section of the store I am very happy with. Their meat (chicken and beef) also is the best in the area. They have Rocky and Rosie chicken, Rocky being the better. Their beef appears to be Palomar, which is a very good product. They also have Vintage beef, a just "ok" product. Henry's has the horrible Uruguay beef, making Roots the best place for beef in the area. Staff is much better then the past as well. I especially like the guy who manages the produce area. He may manage the whole store, not sure. He does an excellent job answering questions and being attentive to the customers. I'll keep going back as long as Roots does not screw up as in the past, such as the sneaky tricks of jacking up prices instantly on certain products, having bad products with chemicals in their prepared foods (Deli), selling meats that have 1-2 days left before turning brown and smelly, not giving change back at register and denying it, rude staff. read more

This place is a very crunchy store. Among the impulse items at the register is a free magazine by Organic Roots titled 'Remedies for Life.' Needless to say it advertises products for homeopathic treatments and alternative therapies. I think all the products advertised can be found in store. This crunchy granola market has a juice bar where they make smoothies and serve Kombucha on tap. I have ordered a drink on every visit I've made. The produce is good and the tea section is abundant. As I was browsing the bakery, I had asked the girl behind the coffee bar if there were more sugar free baked goods and I learned that the keto brownie was sugar free. Keto is synonymous with no sugar or low sugar. I'm happy to have the all natural food store nearby. read more

This review is for taco Tuesdays. Great hidden place to grab some tacos. Inside the grocery store there's a deli and street tacos are $1.25 on Tuesdays. They'll make it for you. Choose from chicken, beef, pork or tofu; cilantro/onion; red or green salsa. Note the green is very spicy and made my nose run. I like it. A side of beans (black, pinto or refried) is .25-cents. There are bistro tables inside or outside. The value is excellent. The consistency is good and the customer service is average. read more

My only critique of the this store is that there doesn't seem to ever be any store manager level employees around, like ever. If there is a store manager, they must be in their office all day because we never see them interacting with their teams or the guests. Another 1 star review for Roots Organic Juice bar. I gave roots another chance but truly I won't come back here to spend money on over priced smoothies. I came here today in a rush to get a smoothie and didn't have time to make one at home. I collectively spent 15 min waiting for a smoothie that didn't even get started. THERE WASNT EVEN ANYONE IN LINE WHEN I CAME. I came back to the booth and I saw it got busy but people who had just ordered get their drinks within 3 min after paying. Now, I'm late for a doctors appt. This ALWAYS happens and I usually am patient but seriously I'm done with their lack of organization. Seriously one of the best markets ever! I can't imagine anything less than five stars here. The employees are happy and attentive, the salad bar is full of great options- from every kind of sprout you can imagine, to chunked tuna. I visit Temecula only once or twice a month and I make sure to come here every time. I imagine stocking your whole home with food and goodies from here would be outrageously pricey, but the costs of products here is comparable to any other organic/health food stores I've been to. I was shopping today at Organic Roots and had the worst experience. This used to be a place that had friendly employees, but they way they treat people the minute they get into the store over wearing a mask. Marge (older, long brownish hair, Hispanic) in particular I have seen berates the customers. This old man (60's or 70's) came in and she basically went off on him telling him, You're not welcome here unless you wear a mask. And also told him when the man said ok, I guess I just won't shop here, she replied, great! We don't need your business!" The sad thing is that this isn't the first time I've seen her treat or talk to customers this way. I saw her to do it to someone who said they had a medical condition and couldn't wear a a mask. She does it very loudly and in front of the store. I just can't in good conscience shop here anymore with employees like that and she isn't the only one I've seen to do it. I'll be taking my business else where which is unfortunate to me considering this is a small business and I shop here weekly and loved supporting them. However, it looks like they're under the impression that decent, good customer service is no longer needed in these times. read more

The Cashier explains very nicely the discount given to seniors is only on select items. The customer was very rude to the cashier and demanded that she always gets a senior discount on everything the last time she was in. Then demanded to talk to the manager. She held up the line for 10 mins being rude to the employees. To the closing team you handled yourself very well gave awesome customer service as always. For someone following a Paleo diet, Organic Roots is a dream come true. Despite having a Trader Joes and Sprouts nearby, I still choose to go to Organic Roots for my weekly groceries. I also recently moved from South Orange County where I regularly shopped at Whole Foods and I even love Organic Roots more than Whole Foods. Other health-conscious/organic grocery stores tend to lean more towards vegetarian-friendly foods meaning more foods with grains. However, at Organic Roots I've found Paleo tortillas made with cassava & coconut flour, Paleo chocolate chip cookies made with almond flour and sweetened with maple syrup, Paleo pancake mix, and more. They also have an extensive selection of nut milks I've never seen in any other grocery store that are organic with no preservatives. Some brands are MALK which are cold-pressed nut milks (they even have pecan milk!) and the ingredients are simply almonds, distilled water and himalayan sea salt; another brand is Three Trees and the ingredients just say organic almonds and reverse osmosis water. No carrageenan, gums, lecithin or vegetable oil like other nut milks! Their grass-fed meats are amazing and there are always sales on different meats each week. Keynote for those trying to eat grass-fed meat is that you need to look for "grass-fed AND finished" beef to ensure your meat has truly had no grains in its diet and sure enough, that's what kind of meat Organic Roots has. I also LOVE their hot food bar, salad bar, and coffee bar. They have a juice bar and coconut milk yogurt bar but I still have yet to try it! Their hot food bar has cauliflower rice so I can make myself a delicious Paleo rice bowl! Their coffee bar has an extensive milk substitute selection so you can specifically ask for unsweetened coconut/almond milk unlike other coffee bars that offer coconut/almond milk. I can go on and on about the amazing things Organic Roots has, but in short, they're a big reason why I love living in the area :) read more

I just recently discovered this shop after shopping next door at Nordstrom Rack. I didn't know what it was but saw they had a juice bar and decided to get a smoothie. I walked in and immediately thought - wow, this looks like a whole foods. Except the prices are MUCH lower than Whole Foods. The juice bar is toward the back and the workers there didn't give off the best first impression; however they do offer a decent selection of cold-pressed juices and smoothies. They also have two vegan? frozen yogurt options. The produce selection is diverse and all the veggies were organic or local. The market itself is small, so I felt like i was bumping into people; however inside you can find a bakery, coffee shop, ready-to-eat section, juice bar and all the normal frozen/dried/ foods a regular grocery store would offer, except they're all organic--vegan&all natural items. This is the only Organic Roots store I'm told by the cashier. Definitely worth coming this direction instead of heading into Orange County for Whole Foods. read more
