For our last night in Austin, we had dinner at Oria. It's a new Mediterranean restaurant. It feels like we walked into like a Mediterranean garden. The patio and dining area was so beautiful. Every dish we got was so tasty. My favorite was the fire roasted whole sea bass! It was so tender and flavorful. We also got the wood fire sour dough pita. They sell it individually though so we just split it for us to try. And they have just regular soft pita with the other sides. We also had the tuna tartare, hummus, olives, and agean prawns. We literally devoured it all so fast, it was so quiet while we were eating lol. For entrees we got the sea bass, seared scallops, butcher steak and chicken skewer. There wasn't much scallops in the plate it was more pork belly which was pretty good. Butcher steak was tender. The chicken skewer wasn't my favorite. It was dry and lacked flavor. The drinks were so yummy! I got the garden gimlet and it was so good I got 2 orders After our meal we ordered the dark chocolate mousse and basque cheesecake. Both were very delicious! Not too sweet! We were celebrating my friends bday too and they gave her sorbet with candles which was super cute! Overall this restaurant was def worth it. The ambiance and food were great! Our waitress was amazing. Rebeca was so attentive and kind. She was so accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The patio area was so cute but the weather was not it so I'm glad we got an inside seat! The inside is just as beautiful! But def make a reservation and check out this new restaurant!

We stopped in to Oria to check out the vibe. What a beautiful spot with relaxing outdoor seating and indoor dining and bar. It looks like they will eventually have an outdoor bar open as well. The staff were all very friendly and the bartenders were nice and gave recommendations. I had a very refreshing golden hour spritz and we tried the smokehouse with Mezcal. Both drinks were fabulous. We wanted a little snack, but we missed happy hour sadly. This time we tried their himachi. I thought it was pretty good, but it needed something like a chip to eat it with. We definitely will be coming back to try their happy hour and sit on their beautiful patio in the evening time!

Oria on Barton Springs Road was such a beautiful surprise. The atmosphere is lush, horticultural, and effortlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces into what feels like a modern garden retreat. Every detail feels thoughtfully curated -- warm, stylish, and relaxing all at once. The appetizers alone completely satisfied us. Everything felt fresh, elevated, and perfect for sharing during happy hour. The wood-fire oven baked brie was incredible, and the entire menu had such a unique Mediterranean-inspired feel. Pair that with creative cocktails and a gorgeous ambiance, and it easily became one of my favorite spots in Austin for a relaxed evening out.

Came with my friends for a girls night and sat outside! The space is beautiful and really felt like you were on vacation somewhere. The food was really good too and more of a tapas style. Our server was absolutely a doll and took great care of us!

We had an early dinner at Oria on Sunday evening. We got there a bit early but they were able to seat us while we waited for the third in our party. The patio is beautiful and we were seated at a table at the second level of the patio. It was beautifully decorated inside and out. I wasn't feeling up to par so I took just a few bites of each items we ordered and the two others in our party ate the rest. We had very little left after ordering several items. Everything was tasty and well presented. Because one of my friends is gluten free we had some confusion on a couple of orders but everything turned out well. A huge plus was free parking in the garage behind the restaurant so we didn't have to circle forever, but that could have also been because we were there early on a Sunday. ;-) We also ordered cocktails and a mocktail. The mezcal drink was lovely and they modified mine to bring syrup on the side since I minimize sugar/sweets. That said, the cheesecake was delicious and was one of the rare gluten free cheesecakes so my gluten free friend was able to eat it when she normally can't order cheesecakes! I look forward to going back here again when I can eat bigger portions of the items.

Pretty happy with this place. New restaurants are always so hit or miss in ATX. Great service and good food. Artichoke and goat cheese is awesome! Get the charred pita - it's significantly denser than the regular pita and makes for a great dipper. Charred octopus is really good. Papas bravas on the side are as well. I really liked the lamb kefta as well. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. Reservations are highly recommended.

Headed their food a ladies night out during the week. Traffic was insane!! Parking in the lot behind the building was super tight. Lots of cars parked in areas that wasn't for parking. Los of spots, but most was filled. Ambiance of Oria is great. Service was friendly. The food was delicious!! The start of the night was the honey carrots. More please! Can't wait to go back and try more.

Good first experience at Oria on the whole! We had a reservation, which I highly recommend as there did not appear to be spaced for walk-ins. Indoor seating is a little bit of a mixed bag and I would recommend enjoying your food and drinks on the patio if possible. That is definitely the vibe, but you have to specify that in your reservation if that's your desire. The highlight of the meal was absolutely the basque cheesecake... absolute perfection. The starters and mains were all good enough but nothing super memorable the way the dessert was. Carrots were excellent but came out a bit lukewarm instead of hot. The feta dip was good - very different from Aba which is still my favorite. The only thing I definitely would not recommend is been carpaccio, it was much more thick than I'm used to, more like raw sliced roast beef. Cocktails were outstanding! I will come back again soon to sip cocktails on the patio and have the cheesecake. I hope that stays on the menu forever!

I'm writing this review from my table at Aba on South Congress because my wife and I quickly left Oria. It was a combination of poor service, a waitress whose enunciation was so poor and spoke so fast that we couldn't understand anything, and lack of warm drink options (no coffee, no hot tea, no soup). Then came the appetizer and while the baba ganoush was okay, the olives were really not great and the bread underwhelming. This is no Aba... It's too bad because the interior decoration is cute and this could be a nice experience. The last straw is when we told the waitress we would stop at the appetizer, she grabbed the baba ganoush plate my wife was finishing and left the olives but made sure we had no more utensils to grab them.

First of all.. this "4/5 review" is a bit harsh.. right when you walk in.. all smiles.. every employee is above and beyond accommodating.. I brought my 3 pups and our server, Alicia, was a gem! The prices are very fair.. the ambiance makes you feel as if you're in the Mediterranean (minus the Texas heat). No wait to get a table.. but that will change, mark my words.. The food.. on point! You'll leave satisfied and happy.. highly recommended!

WOW beautiful new spot! My friend and I made reservations for an early dinner on a Friday. The patio is stunning - definitely does not feel like you are on Barton Springs road. We both started with a golden hour spritz. Similar to an aperol spritz, but with strawberry infused aperol and blood orange. SO refreshing and served in a big goblet. We shared the baba ganoush with pita that came with it, hamachi, and prawns. We skipped the wood fired pita since the baba came with one, but I would like to try that next time. Everything was so good. The hamachi was a highlight. Small portions - we would both order more next time. They asked us to place our full order at once and they would course it out. Next time I plan to get the seared scallops and try the aloe spritz! Great new Mediterranean spot.

beautifully decorated with lots of plants and a fountain, the outdoor area especially feels romantic and would also be great for a dinner with friends. Check-in was a little delayed because of the dinner rush, but once we were seated, our server Morgan was friendly and very helpful throughout the meal. We started with the Baba Ghanoush and the Cucumber Feta, both served with pita. We skipped the sourdough pita this time, but we saw a lot of people ordered it, would definitely try next time. The cucumber feta was super refreshing with great flavor, while the baba ghanoush was richer and a bit heavier in comparison. Both were good, but I'd especially recommend the cucumber feta during the hot summer months. For the main courses, we ordered the lamb shank and the salmon, and both portions were generous. The salmon was lighter and refreshing, which made it perfect for a warm evening. The lamb shank had great flavor as well -- the meat was tender, and the polenta with the creamy sauce paired really nicely with it. We enjoyed both dishes a lot. Overall, it was a lovely dinner experience, and next time we'd love to try the half chicken or the sea bass.

We went there with a party of 6 on a Sunday evening. I like the vibe of the restaurant. The ambience is created nicely and has a consistent flow from the patio into the interior. Things have a local and high quality feel. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive, the staff friendly and the manager checked on our experience at the end of the meal. What needs work is the food. Let's start with the good. Probably some of the best octopus any one of us had before. Perfectly executed and good flavor. The pita bread is worth the hype. I could sit down and just eat that. Also the halibut was cooked well and combined good with the sauce and pomegranates. I did not try the chicken kebabs but they were referenced as tasty. The rest of the meal was mid at best. The Butcher steak had no seasoning and instead of a proper chimichurri was just parsley and garlic pieces (the manager was bringing a proper sample after which was good). The chicken skin was not crispy and it was slightly undercooked. The feta dip with the carrots was overly sweet and did have no taste of feta, the artichoke deep tasted only of garlic and the babaganoush was somewhat bland. Considering the price of the meal (over $400) you would expect a better executions. I was also surprised that the manager did not take any responsibility despite asking for and collecting the feedback. Other than (I guess the chimichurri was not mixed right) she just thanked for the feedback. A lot of work left to do in this place if they still want to be in business in Austin in 5 years. Time is running out

Both times, the food has been spectacular, the service off the page, and the atmosphere and ambiance magnificent. We tried three mezzes last night, and each was killer. The hummus was the smoothest I've ever eaten and with the brisket, it was killer! We tried the whipped feta with pistachios, and it was special -- salty/sweet and a little something special to make you wonder just what the spice was. The lamb & beef keftas were also excellent, with the lemon rice and a nice tsadziki -- and we make keftas at home fairly regularly, so we know what a good one tastes like. The only regret that we had was that we only have one stomach each. A second would have allowed us to keep tasting... Don't miss it. Then, to get drinks or even the order was a problem. It took so much longer than usual. Our waitress was rude, and seemed bothered that we showed up. Then someone else came as the waitress and she was preoccupied with other tables and barely checked on us. A regular lunch which would've been one hour became almost two because of the lack of service. My friend had to stand and look for someone to give us a box to take out the good we couldn't eat because it was getting late and also to get the check because No one came in to check on us at all. The staff keeps the dining area and buffet line consistently stocked and clean. They even provide hand sanitizer and gloves for you. Even when foot traffic picked up while we were there, the food was replenished quickly and didn't look picked over. Now let's talk food...Everything tastes fresh, well-seasoned, and like it was made with care instead of just being "buffet food" an under seasoned. The variety is also amazing, and it's easy to build a plate for pretty much any type of diet whether you're keto, high protein, balanced, veggie-forward, vegan, etc... Some of our favorite dishes we keep coming back for: Shredded beef (SO good), Baked fish (tender and not fishy), Garlic baked chicken (wonderful crispy skin), Fried chicken, Baked kafta, Kafta kebab, Gyro meat, Roasted cauliflower, Eggplant, Greek salad, Fatoush, Kale Caesar salad, Zaatar pizza, Cheese pizza (pro tip: top it with shredded beef- a life changing buffet hack), Rice with lentils, Rice with mixed veggies. For the quality, variety and amount of food you get, this is easily one of the best deals in the city! It's rare to find a buffet that's both affordable and consistently this good! Between me, my husband, and my mom, we have a lot of overlap in what we like to eat, but we also have some pretty distinct preferences, and Demassi's is one of those places where that works. My husband really loves Middle Eastern / Mediterranean food. I generally do not. I tend to find the meats too dry, I don't particularly like the spice profile, and I also find a lot of dishes in that category to be overly sour. It's hard to explain, but there's often a sharp, tangy acidity that I don't enjoy. For whatever reason, I don't have that issue at Demassi's at all. Here my husband can get his fix of dry, spiced meats, while I'm happy eating from the huge selection of rice dishes, cooked veggies, and soups. As far as protein goes, I actually really like the fish here, so I almost never eat the meat and still leave satisfied. It usually feels like a healthy pescatarian day for me, which I like. Then there's my mom, who just loves the abundance and variety of a buffet. She's happiest when she can sample a little bit of everything, build plates with lots of small bites, and then go back for more. Demassi's is perfect for that. On top of all of this, it's very reasonably priced, especially for lunch or on weeknights. It's always clean, the staff is consistently courteous, and they are really on top of bussing tables, which matters a lot to me at a buffet. Dirty dishes piling up are never an issue here. Overall, it's a solid, reliable spot for us and a place we're always happy to suggest when we're trying to please multiple people with different tastes.

The group was not what I would call big eaters so we had leftovers (we likely should have ordered 1 less dish), they recommend 2-3 dishes per person (dips and meze). The hummus was decent, but I would not feel the need to order it again, the bulgarian feta was delicious and was tied with best dish of the night with the falafel. The falafel had perfect texture, crispy on the outside without cutting your mouth and soft on the inside. The beet tahini just tasted like beets and nothing else so I would not get that again. The cucumber labne was tasty and the halloumi was the only dish I took a bite of and would not take another. The texture of the cheese was rubbery, so despite having a crunchy exterior and delicious sauce underneath, I found the halloumi to be extremely disappointing. I am not a chef, but if they simply grilled the halloumi and served it on top of the sauce I think it would be much better. Desserts are not my thing but my friends enjoyed it even though they admitted the baklava apple pie was painfully sweet. I liked that it came with labne ice cream to make it a bit different.
