I just recently broke up with my favorite Asian delivery restaurant because of a bad experience, so I was understandably impressed with the completely awesome experience with Oriental Cafe. I ordered through Yelp which was easy and painless. The option to pay with a card and tip in cash was a fantastic addition. The food arrived hot and so quick I was quite shocked. I ordered the egg drop soup (made just the way I like it), beef with broccoli (so savory and delicious) and tofu with vegetables (large slices of veggies and tofu). A much, much better experience than our last one. The delivery time was less than 20 minutes, although they estimated 45 minutes, and the delivery driver was very friendly. The food was hot and fresh tasting. I tried the Szechuan beef again and it was a huge step up from the last time. My wife had the rice noodle bowl with beef and chicken and it was very a very generous portion. We both had plenty left over for lunch the next day. My husband and I were staying overnight in a nearby hotel, looking for a place to have dinner. We both enjoy Asian cuisines, and this cafe looked good online. The website only referred to delivery, so I called to make sure we could "dine in". You order at the counter, take a table, and your order will be delivered to you - quickly! The place is very casual, and the decor is nice, though certainly not fancy. Obviously they spend time and money on the food over anything else - my kind of place. All the employees were very friendly, and the food was delicious. I had the Panang chicken (Thai curry) and my husband tried the Triple Delight. Both were excellent! This is your typical Asian take out food, but it was exactly what I wanted. Didn't exceed my expectations, but hit the spot. I did try the Vietnamese Egg Rolls and the description was a lot different then what I received. The description makes it seem like it's two egg rolls, but this was several tiny egg rolls served over noodles and carrots. Still good, just not what I thought it was gonna be. Delivery was a little slow, quoted me an hour and they were on time...just shocked it took so long. Must have caught them at a rush period. Overall a satisfying Asian place. read more

My experience: I've ordered from 549 W Highlands Ranch Pkwy #107, Littleton, CO 80129, always delivered, many times and have tipped the person to bring it to my door which is 2.6 miles away adequately ($4-5). The food is good, it's worth the price, but I can get the same from others, read on. I've gotten some attitude from the delivery person, same guy. Today he decided to actually tell me it wasn't enough (the tip) when I asked "what's the problem". Along with the attitude I got cursing, all with my guests in ear shot. So I thought I'd write this review. I could not believe what just happened on my front door with food delivery!! I then called the restaurant several times requesting a manager. Apparently, this restaurant doesn't have anyone onsite that is in charge. All I can say is if you think someone deserves a 20% tip for driving a bag 2.6 miles then by all means order away; otherwise don't order from here. I have to clarify, if I'm in a restaurant, with the service person working their you know what off to bring my order I tip the 20%. read more

Very large portions like everyone on Yelp said. Plenty of veggies where there should be (smilie), lo-mien noodles very over cooked-that was the only complaint. Fast delivery-they arrived almost 15 minutes earlier than they quoted on the phone. The order taker was in super fast motion, but that's okay by me. Will try again for sure :) read more

This place has been here for years and we just found it a few months ago. The best place to go for Chinese in Highlands Ranch. Reasonably priced and a great menu. Portions are big and we feed a family of four with three entrees and appetizers with plenty leftover for lunch the next day. I've only ever ordered in, so I can't speak to the restaurant environment. The food is about average for takeout, though can sometimes be on the bland and dry side. Sometimes, they'll surprise us and send along a sampling of appetizers instead of the specific item ordered. It seems as though most of the menu options labeled as 'spicy' are rather mild. The service, on the other hand, could use a little attention. If you can endure the less-than-warm beside manner, this place is A-OK. read more

I DID enjoy going to Oriental Cafe on my Friday nights....but tonight was my last. I placed an order for pickup and was quoted 15-20 minutes. I showed up just past 20 mins of placing my order and it appeared my order was ready...Not the case! I stood there like an idiot while orders flew in and out of the establishment. I finally walked up to the ladies at the counter and asked where my food was. They kept saying, "waiting for fried rice." I waited another ten minutes, walked up and said, "I have to go," and they finished my order. Got home to start my meal and it was white rice instead of fried. Why did I wait then? The Sesame Chicken is pretty good, and their hot and sour soup is OK. Other Americanized dishes like Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan are OK as well. Food is generally good - but the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. Generous portions of decent quality Chinese food at a good price are served on Styrofoam plates with plastic-ware (grab the utensils yourself - they won't bring it to you). When it's below 25 degrees outside, the restaurant is intolerably cold, so don't eat inside here if you can see your breath - get it to go. It 's a good value, and the staff is sparse but quite friendly. I recommend take-out rather than dining in. Menu is a little annoying (several confusing "lunch special" price levels differing by small amounts of change) but once you know what you like, it doesn't matter - just get the same thing each time you come back. During a blizzard last night we had a yen for chinese. We recently moved here and had no idea which place to try. We hit a winner. If you look closely you can see a lot of effort goes into the food prep. A very good rendition of hot an sour soup but I would have liked more mushrooms. The meat in the combo lo mein was thinly sliced and not overcooked and the noodles were just right which I have discovered is not easy at this altitude. The egg rolls were not the ordinary greasy affair but crisp exterior filled with fresh veg that was crisp tender. One of the best egg rolls I ever had. The portions are generous. With food and service this good it should be five star for what it is but the request for extra mustard was ignored and I hate styrofoam clamshell take out containers. They tend to leak and they squeak. read more

Food was OK but I think we made the mistake of coming during "rush hour". But it was very crowded and there were several large asian families celebrating clearly special occasions, which suggests to me that the food is authentic and has lots of fans. My family and I had an ok meal, but not as memorable as I expected after the superlative Westword review for this inconspicuous restaurant. Service, though somewhat hurried, was friendly. One of the best options for lunch in the area. Quick and cheap. Covers pretty much your whole standard Chinese menu. Portions are huge for the price.
