Went here on Mother's Day and placed a large family "to-go" order. A man inserted my card and gave me my total of $267.00. As he pulled out my debit card a large roach crawled out of the kitchen right by his head as he handed me my card. I made a grossed out face and looked over at my son. He must have noticed and asked a female server to get it. She chased it and had no luck. I immediately asked for a refund. I've only been for lunch. I've had the lunch specials which are a great deal for $12-$13 -- it's a half portion of an entree with fried/steamed rice + soup and egg roll. But today, I was pretty hungry and ordered the a la carte kung pao chicken for myself. Just a full order of the dish and some steamed rice. This place used to be my go-to but the building looks run down and the inside was pretty unkept. I don't know what happened here but it used to be busy even for lunch and today it was empty. The food itself was still pretty good. Snow peas were fresh and crispy and the flavors were well balanced and good. The food and drinks came out quickly, but had to flag the server down to get our check. Overall, the old management and staff were much more friendly and welcoming and this place needs a facelift. Servings are just right with a little on the extra side as we had enough to take home and have them as leftovers for lunch the next day. Our waiter took our drink order and we had the Thai Tea, that was very good and sweat, just how I like it. They also give you crispy wontons with sweat and sour sauce to enjoy while the drinks come. We decided to share the family dinner (C) and substituted the beef and broccoli with honey walnut shrimp. The meal came with orange chicken, it was just ok, I've had better. It also came with chicken chow mein, kung pai chicken, eggs rolls, and fried rice! All entries were good, my favorite was the honey walnut shrimp. The dinner also came with soup, I had the egg flower soup, it was very good. It was a lot of food for a very reasonable price. We couldn't finish it all and brought home leftovers. Went here for dinner last night and wow, what a disappointment. The restaurant was filthy! Everything was so grimy, including the hot sauce container displayed on the table, it looked like something from the 70's and had dried sauce spilled all over the lid, the decor was filthy, the blinds, decorations, ugh, just everything! I can't believe I actually stayed to eat after seeing all the filth. If the restaurant is that dirty can you imagine what the kitchen looks like?! I ordered house fried rice, house chow mein, sweet & sour pork and mongolian beef. The best thing was the fried rice and I was honestly terrified to eat any of it. The beef in all of our dishes was mostly super tough with a couple of tender pieces mixed in as if they are mixing high quality beef with off cuts to save money. The egg rolls were mush, crispy outside and mush, literally squeezed out mush inside. So terrible. The fried rice was awful, the orange chicken would have been great if it had not been cooked so fast leaving uncooked batter and kind of a mess. Kung pow was meh, not horrible. We spent over $70 and it all went into the trash, not kidding, all of it. I will never ever do that again. The reviews were good, I'm not sure who Is eating here. It's not gonna be me ever again. I recently ordered from this restaurant, for delivery. In past orders, I found the order to be lacking in sauce and the protein. Thinking I would give them another opportunity to get the order right, I placed an order for the chicken and snow peas. I specifically requested extra sauce . When I received the order, it had almost no sauce. I called the restaurant and notified them that the order was not as ordered. They immediate hung up on me. When I called back, I was told that they would not fix the order, would not provide the extra sauce, but would give me a credit "sometime" in the future. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they hung up on me and would not answer when I called back. I would not recommend this restaurant for any delivery. While the outside of the building hasn't been painted in at least 30 years, it is the interior that is really gone down hill. The place doesn't get cleaned very well any more. Everything is sticky and dirty. My wife is an ex manager of several businesses and as she says "If the owner/manager/staff don't maintain the facility to reasonable standards, you can bet the kitchen is most likely to turn your stomach". The food isn't really good like it was under the previous owner/management. It is at best passable. The place isn't full at lunch or dinner anymore. While the staff are friendly enough and service is acceptable the lack of cleaning is obvious. Portions are smaller now, but that is true at most dining facilities these days. A rule of thumb for me; If the entry door is dirty and the glass is nothing but smudges and the windows are too, time to visit a facility that has people that take pride in their restaurant. The current operators need to get off of their lazy butts and get their act together. read more

I feel generous, but this place is more like a three to three and a half stars. I want to help them do better, since it seems that only people over 65 patronize this restaurant. Yes, it is one of those old classics there are slowly but surely disappearing. The food is not bad, it's not great either. The spring roll was on the pasty side and not fried to order which means it was lukewarm. The chicken chow mein had very little protein, no wok hai, more steamed, but at least have some bean sprouts and green onions. The picture of the chicken was a little bit off like it was boiled before used in the recipe.. The hot and sour soup was the best thing but the portion sizes, oh my, were all ridiculously small. If I could put zero stars I would. I actually feel sorry for this business cause it seems to not be doing well. We went to have lunch here and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The booths were all damaged and worn out. It looked like they don't deep clean the restaurant. The bathroom smelled like sewer. They had no letter grade only one that said pass and that doesn't seem promising. My can coke was flat. The food tasted like old, warmed up, food and the noodles had this weird chemical taste to them. It was my fault for not leaving after seeing the signs but we had already ordered and I felt bad...whyyyy. The male host/server was very nice and attentive but the fact that the food came out sooo quick after we ordered was not a good sign. Sadly to say even the fortune cookies were a let down. I ordered 4 dishes on Grubhub. There's a place to say if you want mild, medium or spicy. I chose medium spicy for the two entree dishes. Well, they were not spicy at all - maybe a little soy sauce but that's it. The fried rice was beyond tasteless - unsalted, unflavored - just blah!!
