This Chinese food restaurant kept coming up on my social media, so I thought I'd give it a try on a Friday evening. Showed up half hour before they closed and there was a line out the door and wrapped around. Employees said they were closed but I stood in line anyway. Line moved quickly and I ordered two plates each with two choices, servings are very generous!! I tried the noodles, friend rice, beef and broccoli, orange chicken, pepper chicken and kung pao chicken. Everything was so delicious and prices were very reasonable. Staff were all friendly despite the line out the door for dinner rush. The restaurant does have a dining area which seemed kept up and clean as well. Overall great experience! read more

Grub with Greg lead me here. The portions are large. I ordered 3 lunches to go. The lady who helped was so rude. I asked her if she could bag them separately for my co workers. . She gave me 2 extra bags. I had to ask for the drink cups that is included. The orange chicken was all fried dumplings. No chicken. The barbecue chicken was good. As in most cases these days I saw this restaurant blowup my socials and I had to try it out. On my socials ,the portions were a healthy serving and I have to say that is the truth. There was a line out the door (understandable,it being Friday at noon) but the line went pretty fast. Like I had mentioned the portions were healthy and all the offerings looked very delicious and fresh. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. They have a lunch special of $14 for a 2 item combo with rice and chow mein an egg roll and a canned soda. I ordered all chow mein and bbq chicken and pork . Our go-to Chinese takeout spot and it never disappoints!!! We've been coming here for years and the food is always made fresh, hot, and super yummy. Small detail but love that they upgraded their to-go boxes. They're sturdier and keep the food warm longer. My favorites are the firecracker chicken and kung pao chicken w/ chow mein. The portions are HUGE and lasts 2-3 meals all for under $15. And the option of a free veggie egg roll or soup. We catered from them as well with really reasonable prices. Waited in line for like 45 minutes came during lunch rush but the line did die down after but I was able to enjoy some Jamba Juice while waiting and to be honest the wait was worth it .. BELIEVE THE HYPE! Food was a 10/10 the Singapore noodle was delicious, the chowmein was maybe the most bland part but the sides were all great. Orange chicken wasn't too sweet, Broccoli Beef was great, the BBQ chicken was fantastic. The egg soup was also good and their Thai tea is also really tasty. Our friends told us about this place and we got it once with them. But haven't been here in a while and we were so hungry. We stopped in to grab a bite to eat, it was kind of busy the night we went. But it's a decent size parking lot, and they have inside seating which is nice. You order your food like panda express style, they have a pretty nice variety to choose from. I liked the lights inside too, the employees were friendly. They also give you a nice portion of food too. We got a huge plate of food, we took it to go. We ordered pretty quickly even tho it was a little busy. Would def come back here again, the food is pretty good especially for how much they give you as well. It was my first time eating here and to be honest the food looks and is yummy. The service was good. Everyone was very polite. I told the lady 2 combo B's and I guess she didn't understand me that I wanted orange chicken and bbq pork for both plates. She gave me an extra serving of orange chicken. The cashier and the server both apologized. Overall it was a misunderstanding but let me tell you! It was good lol and the food is hot. They include drinks and eggrolls with the combos. I love the mix of the crunchy breading and sweet/spicy/savory sauce (hard to describe until you try it!) on the chicken, and the beef was surprisingly tender. The portions for the first two entree choices are huge which we love to see (the third one that comes in a side container not so much). Their chow mein is just okay with not that much flavor, but I doubt that's the main reason anyone is coming here. Without a doubt, Twin Dragons is the best Chinese fast food take out in the La Habra/ Whittier area. First of all, an actual Chinese family owns it- always a good sign. Is this authentic? Only in the sense that they are preparing Americanized Chinese fast food that have been proven to cater to the Western palate. So no, this is not truly authentic Chinese food, but it is true to what it's trying to do. The portions here are king. One, 2 item combo is easily enough for 2 meals, maybe even 3. On top of that, you get your choice of either egg roll or soup and salad with every combo. My suggestion is always the egg drop soup and cabbage salad. I always order half chow mein, half veggies, but you can also get fried rice, steamed rice, or Singaporean noodles along with your choices. I actually prefer the sweet and sour pork over the orange chicken. Let's be honest folks, although I have never had any issues there, the ruder the service at a Chinese or Korean spot, the better the food. It's a proven fact. Pro tip, yes if you go closer to closing the selection will be less, but they will pile on the portion because they are trying to get rid of the food. My second time trying Twin Dragon was for Labor Day, and I actually tried to call beforehand to make sure it was open. Nobody picked up, so I drove by and saw they were still in business. I have to say I do really like the orange chicken and firecracker chicken with the Singaporean rice noodles! There's something they put into the sauce that makes it addicting, probably MSG. The same lady served me as last time, and she uses a heavy hand for the noodles because it's like 75% of the plate. I don't think they need to go THAT overboard with it, but it's whatever. This time, I tried the egg flower soup, which was extremely viscous like the other one I tried. Honestly, I would prefer it if it was more on the watery side because I'm not used to this kind of texture. I've been coming to this Chinese fast-food spot for years because the food is genuinely good and the portions are solid. It's always been a quick in-and-out kind of place -- you point at what you want, they serve it, you pay, done. Exactly what fast food should be. But lately, something has seriously changed. The newer staff (the ladies working the counter) have started pressuring and shaming people into tipping -- and not in a subtle way. I've watched them guilt-trip customers, saying things like "you give tip. You give tip." Even when people are just trying to grab a quick plate. This isn't table service. There's no sitting down, no refills, no servers. I'm in and out in literally two minutes. On my last visit, I ordered two trays, and they still commented that it "wasn't a lot," even though that's all I needed. If there's some kind of minimum order rule, then write it somewhere, but don't make customers feel bad for ordering what they want or need. What really pushed it over the line: When I picked up my order and asked for a couple soy sauce packets, they said no -- because I "didn't give 10% tip." I paid in credit card when I placed the order but then had also put some cash money in the tip jar, so on my receipt - it didn't show that I tipped on there, but either way, even if I didn't give tip, since when does fast food require a mandatory 10% tip? So if my order was $100, you want $10 tip? If you want $10 for soy sauce, I can literally buy a whole bottle for less. Trust me, I don't mind kicking down tip, Especially when it makes sense, and I've always supported this place. I usually always add a little something for tip here. But tipping should never be forced or tied to basic condiments. The food is still good, but the customer service has gone downhill fast. If this pressure to tip continues, they're going to lose longtime customers like me. Food would've been a solid 4 stars on its own. But I can't keep coming back to a place that makes me feel uncomfortable and mad like this. There are other places to grab a bite. I don't usually write reviews, but this experience really stood out. I went into Twin Dragon to order my usual meal -- rice noodles, orange chicken, and kung pao chicken. After being served the first two items, I let the employee (the woman with glasses) know I would also be ordering additional plates. Instead of continuing with my order, she grabbed pork without asking and actually started serving it onto my plate. She also seemed visibly upset. The interaction felt uncomfortable and out of place, so I even asked her directly, "What's wrong? Why are you doing that?" because it didn't match what I was ordering. At that point, another woman who appeared to be in charge stepped in and took over, which made the situation even more noticeable. I want to be clear -- I'm Hispanic, and I don't eat pork simply out of personal preference, not for religious reasons. However, the way I was treated felt like assumptions were being made about me based on my appearance, and that came across as disrespectful and unprofessional. No customer should have to walk into a business and feel judged. Because of this experience, I will not be returning. The food may be good, but the way customers are treated matters just as much. I hope management takes this seriously and works on improving their customer service. On top of that, I had previously participated in their stamp card program, where after a certain number of visits you receive a free meal. Don't get me wrong I love the food here but I had the worst customer service experience. I came in during lunch time to order my food. It was very hard to hear the cashier. She was being super rude and even raised her voice at me. I was very confused. I didn't know that there was a lunch special so as opposed to helping me and explaining there was a special she got frustrated with me. All she said was do you want a drink and do you want soup or egg roll with no context. I thought those were just add ons at an extra cost. That is when she started yelling saying "You don't listen, I told you you don't listen" I wast stunned and told her that I was sorry it was hard to hear her. She continued telling me " I told you soup or egg roll" and I kept apologizing. Even as I was walking out she kept going on. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I left and the want to eat disappeared. I was no longer hungry because of how hostile this person was being towards me. She offered me cold vegetables from the buffet instead. - (I found out they turn off the warmers LONG before closing the hard way. INSANE. - I took the food I didn't order at room temperature under hostile glares, and as I left the owner was smoking outside the front door MUCH closer than the legal distance. This place is a ghetto of disrespect. The Placentia Twin Dragon is clean, honest, polite, accommodating, cheerful, and they remember your name and your order.
