The food was tasteless and bland...it was over fried and greasy... the fried rice was blah, the ribs smelled like several days old meat...I didn't eat it after my first bite...literally threw it in the trash... the worst part was the dripping greasy mushy textured egg rolls...Sadly, I was craving for Chinese food and tried this for my first time and ordered on Door Dash and was so DISAPPOINTED because nothing tasted fresh... I was so upset with the poor quality of the wrapped chicken rib combo appetizers, the fried rice and cashew chicken that I threw it all away!! $90 down the sink. EVEN THE CRUNCHY NOODLES WERE LIKE RUBBER! The Shrimp toast was nearly burnt. So over fried I tossed it after one bite. WHY NOT IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD SO THAT PEOPLE ARE CLAMORING TO GET IN AND RAVING ABOUT HOW DELICIOUS IT IS?!? This was mediocre at best. I will NEVER never order here again. EVER! read more

Ordered the lunch special to go while on break from work. I ordered the fried rice with kung pao chicken, no peanuts. I expected the fried rice to be actual fried rice but it was just white rice tossed in soy sauce. The kung pao chicken tasted good, but there was no stir fried vegetable in there? Which was confusing. The meal also came w a fried vegetable egg roll, which tasted fine. Overall experience and food quality was fine. I wouldn't mind getting it again for a quick lunch, but I would probably try something different. When I went to go pick up, the food service was pretty quick and I was shocked to see that it was actually quite busy inside. Seven months ago, I wrote a review on Google saying I had the best egg foo yung here I've ever had. Unfortunately, tonight was not the same. The patties were cooked too long, tasted slightly burned and oily. The sauce was too thick with cornstarch and lacked flavor. I'm only disappointed this was my first time trying this place, when its been here so long. We had egg rolls, chicken chop suey, chicken, beef, and shrimp trio, sweet and sour chicken, sea food chow mein, and honey walnut shrimp and everything was amazing! I ordered it to go and the people were lovely! I also thought it would be a nice place to dine in with their inviting atmosphere. Don't be like me and wait too long. Been eating here since it opened '85 after being introduced to it by my Moms, RIP. Dining in, take-out, delivery, it's all good. Kung pow shrimp, house beef, fat Noodle, Chinese chicken salad are our favorites. Also, the lunch specials are great for sharing fast meal. Our favorites are the scallion and beef dish, paper wrapped chicken, the pan fried dumplings (amazing) , beef fried rice with lettuce and sweet and sour pork. You really can't go wrong. I came here with my family on valentine's. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked through the door. Everyone was friendly, the food came out quickly. Everything tasted as good as it looked. The food is amazing with a vast selection of dishes that are delicious credibly delicious. Today I ordered out and picked up some War Wonton Soup, it was so good and on a cold day hit the spot. It was full of delicious ingredients, well tons, shrimp, beef, and tasty vegetables. The broth was so good and bursting with flavors. I also ordered the appetizer sampler, amazing, it came with ribs, egg rolls, shrimp toast, and paper chicken. All items were so good, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The Yang Chow fried rice is my favorite, full of flavors, it came with shrimp, beef, and chicken. It's my favorite dish here and I have to say they serve large portions. I've had rice for 3 days now. I grew up in Whittier, and Silver Palace has been here for as long as I can remember; it feels like the city's hidden treasure. The Hong Kong-style noodles, honey walnut shrimp, and deep-fried pork and fish are amazing, and I've never had a soup here that wasn't comforting and delicious. The front desk is very careful to get your order right and take special requests with aplomb. The food comes in large portions and very flavorful. We usually get shrimp and egg roll appetizers, sweet & sour chicken, cashew chicken, moo shu chicken, and pork fried rice. It's more than enough for three meals for two. My husband and I absolutely LOVE Silver Palace! The Peking Duck is FANTASTIC! When we're too lazy to drive to Alhambra, we're super happy to have this place nearby. We always call in our order and pick it up to go and there has never been a single mistake on our order. The staff have always been so lovely and kind and I've never had a bad experience. I also kinda love seeing the beautiful fish tank in the entryway when I arrive early and am waiting for my order. They offered options for a person that doesn't eat pork & we were so thankful. We both ordered a combo dinner, one w/sweet & sour shrimp, the other with garlic shrimp. Both combos come w/an appetizer, soup, rice & dish. It definitely felt worth my money. I got full, I enjoyed the garlic shrimp & wonton soup most. They do a really good job at handling the tight space. By the time we were leaving there was a line out the door. So many people w/large groups were there.
