The best Ramen I've ever had. Mind you, I've never been to Japan. Place was delicious, I had the origami rich miso, calico drink and the matcha and black sesame cakes. I see a lot of reviews complaining about having to prepare you ramen yourself, as it's packaged to go, due to the current plandemic; id say packaging it how they do is actually a courtesy. Noodle texture is important, so packaging it all together will leave your ramen noodles far too soggy to enjoy. I ate right out of the box, but I'd suggest maybe reheating some of the elements of you want it piping hot. The staff was very friendly with me, and very helpful. I got the Origami Spicy Ramen and the fried chicken with ponzu sauce and both dishes were absolutely fantastic. We ordered take out here and was very impressed. The ramen and fixings were separated to ensure the integrity of the food wouldn't be compromised. The broths were all so tasty! We ordered one of each. The spicy one was definitely bringing the heat. We also ordered the karage fried chicken, which was still crunchy and no soggy after picking up the food. Really great ramen. I was impressed with their take away boxes. I ordered to pick up and their little carton bucket set up is great! It keeps the noodles and broth separate until you get home and can combine them yourself! Meh. Went for lunch because of the reviews but came home disappointed. Toppings were cold. Noodles were of a good quality but the soup was just above average. Decor was cute but the music was loud. Day after grand opening and word has gotten out on this place. Walked in and ordered a pickup meal. Ordered the tan tan, salmon hand roll and karaage. They're still getting their legs in terms of service but the quality of the package was noteworthy. They go the extra step to package the broth, and fixings and noodles separately so the noodles don't get soggy on you. The hand roll also had a plastic wrapper that kept the seaweed crispy. They've obviously adapted to the current pandemic situation so the customer still gets a quality and elegant meal. As for the meal: you can definitely taste the quality ingredients and creativity of the chef. The tan tan ramen had a rich flavor that was altogether savory, sweet and spicy. The red onions added a nice crunch. The peanuts were an interesting touch that was more akin to a Thai/Vietnames cold noodle dish. The karaage was also very tasty and wasn't super greasy. Next time will try their classic ramen with an egg. Side note: Ramen is tough choice in the Arizona heat. I'd strongly suggest taking it home and setting your thermostat to its lowest setting. read more

This spot is only doing to go right now. You have to order online and pick it up. I ordered the origami classic ramen and the broth was SO good. The pork belly was super good too. I saw reviews about the red onion, I honestly didn't mind it too much. It wasn't like any other broth I've had here in Phoenix. It's so so good! I am sad once I got home, it wasn't as hot to my liking. I did appreciate how they separated the broth and the noodles and other food in a different container. What a local treasure! We've already ordered takeout four times since they opened, my husband craves the karrage don (fried chicken) and the ramen is so good. Deep, rich broth and I don't know what magic they use to make the hard boiled eggs, but it's smooth and creamy with a delicate flavor unlike any egg I've ever boiled. They intentionally spread out pickup times to encourage social distancing and the packaging keeps things sufficiently warm and easy to transport without issues. The broth was excellent and authentic. The noodles were a little thin for my liking but they soaked up the broth well. This place is the real deal! I was born in Japan and I've eaten Japanese food all my life and I can say with confidence that this ramen is the best I've had in Phoenix. I had the spicy ramen with a few hand rolls. On the ramen, the flavor of the broth was just the perfect balance of spicy and savory. The noodles were a great texture even after the time they've been sitting out during the pick-up process. The red onions in the ramen was also a nice and inventive surprise as I've never had red onions in my ramen. On the hand rolls (I had spicy tuna and the salmon avocado), the fish was fresh (which is a rarity in Arizona) and the flavor was great! They were not exactly traditional-style Japanese hand rolls - but I recommend that you give them a try if you've never had sushi before, they are a great introduction to eating some raw fish. Finally, the service was great, pickup was easy, and the owner was a really great guy. If you haven't read his story I recommend you check it out because his resilience is admirable.
