Rounding up because it is such an LA staple. Is it the best food ever? No, but you instantly feel welcome and they work hard here. Very friendly and welcoming, prices are cheap and portions fair. They are famous for their burger tacos which are just that, half a burger patty in a taco. Be sure to add their salsa. Always nice to support a local business to ensure they can continue to thrive.

OBTH has been a local staple since 1949. My parents started taking us there over 55 years ago, and they themselves used to go after high school games. Recently, my mom and I decided to revisit for old time's sake--and we're glad we did. The meat patty tacos are just as delicious as I remember, made fresh right in front of us. The service was friendly, and the prices were reasonable--six tacos for just $21. A nostalgic trip that didn't disappoint!

A different type of hardshell taco but nevertheless unique and flavorful on its own. The service was fast and friendly, I was chatting it up with the cook and he was super friendly, nice guy . This place is historic and worth the trip at least once in your life . The taco is comprised of a ground beef patty, gravy, cheese and lettuce on a hardshell .

Interior Aesthetics the same...

Historically, the aesthetics are still the same, which is great for Nostalgia purposes!! The food quality degraded --eat at your own risk... The prices are way too damn high, not worth the value, considering the food quality has gone down...

I only have been there once, but it offers unique cheese burger style taco with history. The place is really old and I can tell they are loved by their customers. Their taco uses a burger patty, and it is really different from other kinds of taco I ever had.

Old school since 1949

Old school since 1949. Since I was participating in the cicLAvia event that passed right in front of this restaurant I had to make another pit stop to try the famous burrito. I ordered the regular size burrito and had it cut in half so my friend could try it. It was very good and sloppy and my friend's little 6 year son took a bite and couldn't resist finishing because he said it was so good.

I wanted to order all the things but I exercised some restraint and just ordered the CARAMELO ($8.75 - Flour tortilla, pinto beans, Monterey Jack cheese, avocado salsa, salsa roja, avocado, cabbage.). I picked chorizo as my protein option. I also, of course, had to also add the smoky grilled poblano chile for $1.25. It was SO good and FLAVORFUL - it didn't even need the salsas. Although, I will note that both the salsas were lovely. The flour tortilla was clearly freshly made. Also, it was a massive portion. I don't know what I was expecting. If this is the size of their caramelo, I don't want to know how giant the burrito is. I also had to get the cucumber agua fresca to pair with my caramelo. It was perfectly sweetened and wonderfully refreshing. I'll have to make my way back here now to try the burrito 2.0 and chivichanga.

It is just favor, beyond flavor, beyond flavor. Yes the tacos Trios both meat or vegan, or just one taco is more pricey than the usual taco truck, but there is a reason. The portions! They are generous. The box is made of paper, not styrofoam. Cheese, yes please, but with or without it is great. The tacos are hand made blue corn tortilla, real guacamole, the cheese. They don't skimp, and with their Jamaica pink onion toppings that are sweet.... it just all goes together so well. A fiesta in you mouth just like the party going on inside the store. I do worry about the people cooking and working there. I hope they are wearing ear plugs or hearing protection because it is LOUD! Be prepared. The line goes fast, it is worth the wait. I LOVE VILLAS! they taste delicious, the ingredients are fresh... just BOMB Comparing to pool party taco man and tacos 1986 which I ate recently. Villas is the winner

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

I've been meaning to try the other items on their menu, but it was so good the first time that I had to order it again. The portions are *very* generous, and they had the usual sides readily available on the side: lemons, cucumbers, sliced radish, grilled onions and peppers, etc. Also had a bite of their corn quesadilla... the tortilla was soooo good. They had the masa on the side and were making the tortillas fresh and by hand. Yum. Payment: - They take Apple pay! :) Parking: - We found street parking nearby thankfully, but it might be hard to find in general due to the area. Seating: - They have seating to the left of their grill (tables, folding chairs, a tarp overhead). Depending on the time of day, sometimes the shade doesn't quite cover your face--the sun was setting and hitting us right in the eyes, so we switched sides to sit facing away from the sun once those seats were available.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

The tostada was very hard and chewy thought I was going to brake a tooth. Asada meat and guacamole on the tostada had no salt. The only thing I was able to taste was the spicy salsa, which it's extremely spicy. My chorizo taco cold and the mulita was okay. Tortillas hand made which that's a plus Agua fresca de pineapple tasted water down too much just tasted the water with hint of pineapple. If you new to this place just know that you can ask for frijoles de la olla on the side they are free. I did like that they had grill onions and it's self serve. Street parking available, but know area not the best to be in. Tables have about 3 incase you planning eat there, & if super hungry know you will be waiting for a long time. It's really cool know it's a tire shop during the day and a taco shop in evenings. This place is very laid back attired unfortunately no music playing.

These were truly the epitome of street tacos and absolutely nothing about the vibe, the service, and the FOOD, disappointed. Immediately upon arrival, I noticed the long line of people and said to myself, either this place is really good or really slow. It took me longer to decide what I wanted to try than what it took for the line to move and for it to be my turn to order. So yea, these folks are FAST and very courteous as well. They have real Al Pastor on the trompo (the spit) so of course I ordered pastor tacos and a pastor mulita. I also ordered a few SUADERO tacos which you don't find just anywhere. I am still raving about the amount of meat and flavor of the food here, it's insanely delicious. Once you get your food you make your way down to the end of the taco stand where you are met with an amazing array of fresh taco fixings and salsas. The pink creamy-habanero was the best and the green/red salsas followed right behind. I can't wait to go back to this place. It's mind blowing how a stand on the side of the road puts out better quality food than a brick/mortar taco shop..but these guys know exactly what they are doing and it was a pleasure to try their food. 20 out of 10 for this place.

I do like how they grill their meat though and they use the tortillas to scoop up the meat on the grill. Thought the al pastor was a bit salty and the cheese did not add much flavor to it, but that's probably a good thing considering the saltiness of the meat. Also, make sure you ask them for pineapples since they did not include it until we asked. They do have them sliced up in a container by the meats. Ambience is very casual and it's a stand while eating type of situation. Service was quick.
