We went on their first day opening in Tucson and the service was great! I think they had several corporate level employees there and everyone was very attentive. We ordered the Korean steak bowl and the hot honey chicken bowl. Both were good but there was nothing revolutionary to report. I personally preferred the hot honey chicken bowl to the steak bowl; it had more dimension and a nice amount of sauce. I will say that this is the type of restaurant that Tucson is lacking, fast casual with healthy options. I am only sad they built this right next to Flower Child because the restaurants have similar concepts. While we were eating, we saw several sandwiches pass by that looked delicious. Super excited to try out this new spot! Everything was very beautifully decorated and I love the bright and airy vibe. There's a large dining area as well as a nice outdoor patio where doggos are welcome! The service was great, everyone was super friendly and helpful. We had to wait a bit for one of our dishes and the lady came and let us know right away and checked in on us a couple times and even brought over a free cookie for the trouble so that was cool. We figured it's a new place so they are still working out the bumps but it was nice they acknowledged it. The lemonade is top tier and the dragon fruit was yummy. We ordered the Grilled Steak sandwich and the Thai Coconut Chicken Protein Bowl with Brown Rice and Sweet Potato Hash (not pictured). Both were super yummy, I requested an extra side of the sauce for the bowl and it made it absolutely to die for! The cookies were amazing the toffee cookie was my favorite but the chocolate coconut cashew cookie was also really good. Very clean and trendy spot! The menu has plenty of healthy options. We got the Moroccan turkey sandwich and the hot honey chicken and hummus bowl, which were both great! LOVE this place. The restaurant itself is lovely and has delicious, feel-good food and the most attentive staff. It's also dog friendly! It was clear from the moment my fiance and I walked in the door that the management was of the highest quality. The staff greeted us warmly, led us through their menu with care, and even offered our dog a side of chicken and brought her water. The whole vibe of the place was welcoming and lovely and the food was delicious, clean, and not too pricey. My only sadness is that we're out-of-towners and won't be able to come here more often. Nothing Freshly chopped in my $12 lunch salad, including previously frozen fruits. Pretty much thaw, scoop and tong prepared. The salad tastes as plastic as the apples, limes, lemons, and pineapples displayed on the subway tile wall. My unsweetened iced tea was good. Don't you just love, putting in your own order from the kiosk with options for a tip, for who? Perhaps I can get a 15% reduction for putting in my own order? Disappointing. My fellow to Tucsonan's are working here and give it atmosphere and cheer and are the only best thing about Original Chop Shop. After 15 bucks and change, I walked away hungry. The bowl concept is dicey, no pun intended, to get the right ratio of protein, base and other ingredients. Sometimes there is an abundance of filler, like rice, for example. The three times we have visited, that has not been the case. You choose the base ingredient and one other such as spicey sweet potatoes, to personalize the bowl you have chosen. The base I have chosen has been roasted vegetables and I love them. Some bowls will have some rice, as well. Our experience has been fresh, flavorful and filling. I like Chop Shop, I usually get a bowl of some kind and they have yummy lemonades, I was just kinda grossed out when I got my chicken teriyaki bowl tonight to see this avocado. I just keep thinking about someone cutting this, seeing the black specks all in it, and still putting it on the bowl. Everyone is friendly and I'm sure if I dined in they would've maybe given me a better looking avocado, but I got take-out so I was stuck with this gross looking one. The manager was talking the entire time to the employee instead of talking to me. Then she said it wasn't that they were taking the rice off they didn't have it.
