Love the Flower Child concept of healthy food and you can customize a bit, for example my favorite is the Mother earth bowl which comes with grains but to make it gluten free I got quinoa. This bowl has everything in: portobellos, sweet potatoes, avocado, cucumber and pesto sauce, greens and red pepper dressing. This is an extremely well-managed Flower Child. We've eaten here multiple times and every dish we've had has been excellent. The staffing remains steady here so obviously they care about the customer experience and it shows. What a great find! I was in town for work and wanted a lighter, healthy dinner and stumbled upon Flower Child. The gal at the counter taking my order was super friendly and patient. I asked for recommendations and she strongly encouraged the Glow Bowl. I asked about protein options and another staff said the salmon was great and she wasn't wrong. The bowl was the perfect portion size which is greatly appreciated. The flavors were amazing and I would gladly eat this on repeat if I could. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining and there was ample seating. There's even a water station outside. The food, service, and interior are all excellent. The first time I went here I did not like the broccoli side I got but after coming here again with a friend, my mind was changed. I got the steak entree with the smashed potato and the grilled asparagus white bean salad as my sides. The asparagus salad was so delicious, I could buy a whole bowl of just that! It's tossed in a yummy pesto sauce with bell pepper and squash and arugula. The steak was cooked perfectly and the smashed potato's are perfect. I didn't get any but they have some good looking dessert options and a decent amount of gluten free options as well. I love that it's an open seating concept and you can refill your water and drinks by the side. There's also an area that has extra napkins and to-go boxes if you need. It went well. The only thing I would really LOVE is that they stop using seed oil like sunflower at all in dishes and stop cooking with it and use pure avocado oil. Another patron moved from where the soda fountain is to the back of the restaurant to get away from the shouting. This led to the most underwhelming salad and terribly cooked Salmon. Came here for a birthday lunch for my wife. She ordered the Mother Earth bowl and I got the steak with broccoli and shishito peppers. I mentioned it was my wife's birthday and they gave us a free dessert. We choose the chocolate pudding. We love the abundance of seating and fun interior design. It was a bit too warm for us to sit outside but there's lots of outdoor seating as well. All the food was delicious, healthy and we left feeling energized. While there were several highlights in these dishes, the salad was missing the avocado and the bowl had grains that were way too salty to eat (that may be somewhat personal preference but it was generally too salty). I've been to Flower Child several times now, and my general takeaways are that it's a good fast-casual option, but that the price is a bit high for what you get. I appreciate that they're working toward a healthier fast meal out, but I think there are other options that are tastier and slightly less expensive. I've gotten several different things, but I tend to go for the "pick a protein and two sides" entree. I've had the salmon and the tofu as my proteins, in various combinations with the kale salad, the mac & cheese, the broccoli, and the rice. The mac & cheese and kale salad are my favorite sides! (I wouldn't even guess that the mac & cheese is gluten free!) The Forbidden Rice bowl was decent, as well, but wasn't particularly memorable. My biggest recommendation has nothing to do with food, though, and everything to do with timing: don't go at noon. Go at 11:00, right when they open. It gets absolutely packed at peak lunch time, and the pressure to eat fast and vacate your table (assuming you could even find a place to sit) is no fun. read more

The enchiladas looked great but tasted like someone overthought it. Steak wrap would be better in another wrap minus horseradish. Try adding a few more salad dressing options... spicy onion? The ambiance is open, bright...inviting however noise levels may reach levels that you feel like you may be sharing with the table next to you. The best part about the menu is how clearly labeled everything is. If you have any dietary restrictions they have color coding to let you know what is GF or Vegan or Vegetarian. This is the second Flower Child I've been to. The first was in Del Mar, and I absolutely loved the concept. At this location, I tried the salmon on cauliflower risotto rice with the Asian inspired green beans. Everything was fresh and flavorful. This is definitely a good addition to the restaurant scene in town. I will say I was quite hungry an hour after my meal here, so I probably needed some additional protein for some staying power out of my meal here. Super cute spot, so glad I finally made it over here! When I saw that this restaurant was a "healthy" restaurant, I feel I underestimated just how healthy it would be. The risotto was so very fresh and I loved the crunchiness of the bread crumbs with it. The broccoli was seasoned well and still had the crunch I desire. The flavor profiles of those 2 compensated for the chicken which I was worried wasn't seasoned. I would most definitely get this same order again any day! I also ordered the cashew chocolate chip cookie and it was good but I would have preferred no nuts at all. In addition to that I got the olive oil lemon cake which comes in cupcake form.
