This restaurant is in a strip mall that we didn't even realize was there. It wasn't very busy when we stopped in for breakfast. We could choose where we wanted to sit and our server came right over to see if we had any questions. The restaurant is good sized and has tables spread out throughout the room. The menu has a lot of options that sounded delicious. We decided to split two omelette breakfasts--Reuben and chicken enchilada ones. I got cottage cheese instead of potatoes with mine. My husband asked for his hash browns to be crispy. When they came, they looked more burnt than crispy to us. He didn't end up eating much of them. read more

I have been coming here for years. The food is always consistently good and huge portions. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The hamburgers are my favorite, I always get the piggy burger as I love bacon. You can order the bacon soft or extra crispy. My only suggestion is that they might want to get the chairs recovered as many of them are split. read more

The actual restaurant is in a strip mall and I would have never thought to go there if it wasn't for my friend who is a Tucson local who knew about the place. The restaurant itself is very homey and it has been a family restaurant for many years. The decor was rustic and had a "lived-in" characteristic that I love to see in diners. Our servers were so kind and were a sister duo which I loved to witness. They were attentive to our every need and you could feel the honest care they have for their customers. Nice family type restaurant in Central-North Tucson with huge portions that won't break the bank. Much better than Denny's or IHOP and the price was slightly cheaper. I ordered the country fried steak, $14.99. The cutlet was nice and crispy. The batter they use is excellent for holding itself intact with the gravy over it. The gravy is great. I'm usually hesitant with breakfast gravy because it's often too salty for me but not with this one. I got the grits with extra butter on the side which were amazing. No salt needed. One small issue was that the grits were hot and the butter was very cold so it caused a temperature contradiction in my mouth. Next time I'll mix it all together. I had the sourdough toast as my bread and it was kinda small. Odd for sourdough. It tasted good, tho. One other issue was that they served me a diet coke in a can with a cup of ice so I'm assuming there are no free refills. I drink a lot of fluids so I really didn't like that. One really nice thing is that they serve the full menu at their 6:00 AM opening, so if you want a burger or club sandwich in the morning, it's available. The portion sizes are big and I only ate half my steak and have the rest in the fridge. Really friendly service, plenty of tables, plenty of parking, clean. I actually just checked the Denny's menu and their country fried steak is $15.49, so this place was actually cheaper. Well worth it. Don't let the 3.6 rating fool you. A vast majority of the reviews are 4-5 stars. It's being pulled down by a few 1 star ratings. Yes, I'd go again. read more

Small spot on the counter but I'm unsure if they just use that as space. Host greets you at the door, sit wherever you'd like, was greeted by a lady who got our drinks. Looks like the place has 2 servers, a busser and a host in front. Not too busy at the time we went. Food was fast & tasty. So I went here this morning because they have 4.6 stars on yelp and the reviews said they are nice clean and have good portions and tasty food which is priced right ! Well they are absolutely friendly and let me give you the highlights : 1) they immediately gave me a coffee carafe so I didn't have to keep asking for more coffee . 2) they were friendly and didn't rush me since I needed to read over the menu 3) I ordered the Craycroft Omelette but I should have ordered light cheese - but it was okay it came with turkey avocado tomatoes spinach and cheese toast and grits and it was humongous . I think I ate like two inches of the 14 inch by 8 inch omelette which had two crispy pieces of bacon resting on top and loads of goodies inside . I asked for a bit of brown sugar and raisins and milk and no butter for my bread or grits ( on the side is better for me ) and they complied . There were friendly patrons and I overhead two retired military men so I told them my Army ROTC experience and how Camp Pendleton Doctors dismissed me from being an officer due to me not being able to squat within 8 inches of the ground and that my foot was flat - it's not really flat but I do have low arches read more

Delicious and one of the better breakfast spots in Tuscon. We had the burro, cinnamon roll and the standard eggs Benedict. The potatoes were under salted but that's an easy fix. The burrito was pretty good too. If you're looking for a great cinnamon roll- it's quite large and has a lot of frosting on it. Overall I'd give them a 4.15 star rating if I could. We've been here a couple of times since my last review and it's been excellent. Even when they are packed on a Sunday, we get seated and served quickly. The food has been awesome and the portions are still huge for the price. It's just a nice, kinda quirky diner type of place. The people who work there are friendly and attentive. It has a bit of a family feel to it too. Oh and they have vanilla creamer here! :) Definitely the place to go for hearty breakfast. I also got a burger from here before and it was crazy good. My wife and I had breakfast at the Egg Connection today. The first time I took her there was in January, 2000. We had only been dating for a couple of weeks, and we made plans to spend the day together, starting with breakfast. I took her to my favorite place, The Egg Connection. They were the only place in town where if I ordered eggs over medium, they came back perfectly. And if I ordered crisp bacon, I got the crispest bacon I've ever had in any restaurant. Breakfast was outstanding that day, and my wife and I went to Mount Lemmon and shared our first kiss on the ski lift. We got married nine months later, and since then, The Egg Connection was our go-to place for breakfast. Today, 24 years later, the eggs came out over medium, the bacon was crisp, and the home fries were perfect, tasty and lightly seasoned with small onion flakes. We also shared a cimmaron roll, which came out warm with plenty of extra icing on the plate for us to slather on the roll if we wanted to, but still giving us the choice of not doing that if we didn't want to. It was easily the best cinnamon roll I have ever tasted. 5 stars for the best breakfast place in town, and an important part of our family history. Still great after all these years. read more

Tried this place today and was pleasantly surprised. I had the denver omelette and a fruit cup. The omelette was really just kinda average and the fruit cup was supposed to be mixed fruit, but was basically just strawberries. What stood out about this place was the service. They had waitresses walking around and every single one of them was checking and willing to help me with anything I needed. It was probably one of their busiest times of the day and one of their busiest days of the week and their staff was simply on point. The prices were great also. Absolutely INCREDIBLE food, GREAT service, CLEAN restaurant!!! Their food prices are shockingly low. Their portions are HUGE! The cook knows what he's doing in the kitchen too. If you order over medium eggs, you get over medium eggs! If you order your burger medium, your burger is medium! Our favorite server is Libby. She runs like crazy and nobody ever has an empty glass or cup. One day we came in there and I asked her if her coffee was weak or nice and strong, she said if you like it strong I will make sure it's nice and strong for you. She brought my coffee and it was PERFECT! That is the first restaurant that I've ever been in where they accommodated us like that. Now every time I order coffee she brings me what she knows I want.
