Geno's is great, they are open literally all the time and they always are kind to me when I come in to pick food up no matter what time of day it is. The food is really good, my favs are the buffalo chicken sub or the speciality pizza with Z crust. Prices for the chicken sub is a little bit pricey but i'm broke and it's bomb so who cares. We just went to Gino's for the first time. I was craving a Philly Cheesesteak. It was 4 pm on a Friday, so we were the only patron's at the time. We purchased a Groupon $20 for $10 so we got a great deal. Tried the OG Philly, Loaded fries & a slice. Service was great. Dining room clean enough and decor sleek. The cheesesteak hit the spot, the slice was good, the garlic oil on the crust was delicious and the loaded fries were definitely loaded. All-in-all in was a great meal. I had the large cheese pizza. While I sat and waited I observed the following. Phones have the most germs on them of almost anything. The young man grating the cheese played with his smartphone typing out a few messages. Replaced it to his pocket and continued handling the cheese without washing his hands or using any plastic gloves. The young lady was cleaning dirty tables with a rag and spray. Not a problem except when she was done she put the spray bottle up and didn't bother washing her hands either and went immediately to handling food items in the back. Pizza was fine, but barely had enough cheese on it to cover it. Fair for the price. On a previous visit I had the gyro sandwich. I found it to be very wet and gooey, not much flavor at all to the meat. My last visit. I will say the pizza prices are fair for what they are offering. My go to eat in/take out pizza, wing, cheese steak spot. Open late and they have cheap lunch specials. Check out their coupons. They had one that was x4 1 topping large pizzas for $20 -- and they're good pizzas w flavored crust and all -- you can't beat that! They recently got one of those cool, new coke machines where you can customize your flavored beverages (lime coke, or any other flavored drink you can think of). Great addition. Cheesesteaks are bangin. Honey buffalo wings are on point. They also have $5 chicken bacon ranch fries that are great and will fill ya right up for cheap. Let me start out by saying I was hesitant to order based on the reviews. I have worked right around the corner from the Geno's on University for almost 10 years. I finally decided to give it a try today. I am so glad I did! Everything was perfect. I placed my order for my provolone steak philly and extra crispy fries. Was given the approximate time of 20 mins. Got there about 18 mins after I placed my order and they were getting it bagged up as I was paying. Perfect timing. No wait! My fries are definitely extra crispy. I don't think I'll ask for that again. But I did and they delivered! My sandwich is delicious. The bread is delicious, soft but not soggy. Meat flavor is on the peppery side and very flavorful. I love pepper so no complaints from me. Plenty of meat on my sandwich. The onions and bell peppers did not out flavor the meat. Which is a big deal for philly's with me. Meat was perfectly slice. No huge chunks, YAY. The guy that took my order over the phone and took my payment was pleasant no major exchange of plesantries but I got my food and left. No need for conversation. read more

When I got home I didn't eat it right away, so the fries got soggy but the sandwich was still hot and delicious. They were generous with the meat, which I love. Perhaps if I'd eaten it sooner (or eaten in) I could have enjoyed the fries. They were packaged in an aluminum/plastic container so the stream condensed inside. They need to clean house because I think the staff is too comfortable with the management and now their restaurant is paying for it. Management isn't much better either. Got the cheese steak sandwich with grilled onions, grilled peppers, and a cheese sauce. Was $10.99 and pretty standard-sized. Steak was tender but overall sandwich was pretty average versus competition in this area. Much better was the Italian grinder sandwich that we got. Plenty of Pepperoni and salami with lettuce tomatoes onions and peppercini, with a creamy Italian dressing and superb fresh-baked in the store bread that really made the sandwich!
